TFCC members should be recieving an email regarding a test for Botcon’s online registration. The email reads:
Here is the latest update. Even though we are in the middle of GIJoeCon right now, we have continued to work on the registration system. In order to do the final testing, we need your help. We have posted a test event at Registration System. Please go to this site and walk through the registration system. Feel free to try variation you find. It is very complicated code but the interface is very simple. If you get a cold fusion error and the Accufind screen comes up, you don’t need to send in an email as that will generate an automatic email to the programer. If you have comments or suggestions please use the email link at the bottom of the page.
You can put anything in the credit card and note that it will throw a warning that your order is not finished. This is normal as it is not processing credit cards, so don’t use a real one as the secure socket is not turned on.
Please note that IN NO WAY are you registering for BotCon with this test event.
It would also help if as many people as possible could try to register at the same time so, if you can, please try at 2pm Central Time on Sunday, we would appreciate it!
Next week we will make the final corrections and put the live site up IF there are no major issues. We will not be disclosing what time, date or the url until it is up. We will send out an email and a Tweet.
One thing we do know about the classes is currently this version will allow you to pick the class both days, which we don’t allow. The final version should have this corrected.
Thanks for your patience!
Brian

Thanks swine for the heads up there.
I have been a member of the club the past 3 years now and this is the first botcon set to really grab me.. Which being an international customer isn't really cost effective given the lack of decent exclusives
thank god for Dion, punch/counter punch and cyclonus this year
if there is anyone out there that would be willing to help me get hold of the extra figures i'd be eternally grateful as there is no way I'll be able to afford eBay prices if previous years are an indication (the sweeps from last year spring to mind)

thanks.
i knew there was another thread but i forgot the name of it but i found this one.

He posted that here, too

If there are is any unsold stock from the convention, it will likely go online in the club store shortly after BotCon as they did last year. However, if you really want one of the sets, you should probably try to arrange to have someone attending pick it up for you in case that would sell out.
krysuk
I realized the attendee figure was only for those that attend
but thanks Omegus for clearing that up about the souvenir sets
I'll just have to hope they put some of them up on the club store like they did last year

It would be funny if hackers collected on the real charges and took that amount to lower suspsion.

The attendee figure is only for those who attend the show and pick up the box set in person, and it's not a toy you order, it's an automatic freebie. The souvenir sets are sold at the show and wont be available to order during registration, you can go buy them after you pick up your pass and box set.

Unless you go to the convention itself, you don't get those figures. That's why they're called Attendee Exclusives.
krysuk
So I went through and tested ok
realize I can't order the attendee figure
but does anyone know if we will be able to order the 2 pack figures that go with the box set when this goes live?
I would much rather order direct the extra figures that aren't in the box than have to go via eBay…
Human Beastbox
So I guess you made it into the custom class and are definitely getting a pin.

When I read the part saying not to put your real number, all I did was put 1111111111111111
Sidecutter
This is always possible, even with random numbers or transposing one of yours. I transposed two digits of one of my cards when I made a purchase once. The first I knew of it was when the retailer came to me asking me to repay because the actual cardholder had done a chargeback.
Galvatro
Agreed. I had planned to switch numbers around, but forgot to do so. I know, my fault. Regardless, "Please note that IN NO WAY are you registering for BotCon with this test event." Given the case, it should not have happened. Suppose, for example, someone tested the system, put in 16 digits, and those 16 digits turned out to be someone's number after all!
Regardless, I have sent Brian an email. Hopefully, he'll be able to 'fix' the problem.

Charging the cards of people who put the real card details in was one of the kinks.
Which is pretty bad.
But really, it did clearly say don't use your real credit card number for the test registration. I think the given reason was because it wasn't secure so really actually being charged is quite possibly the least of your worries.
Galvatro
Wow!
A test event?? Um, Fun Pub, you charged my checked account!!!! What the hell is going on? I thought that a test was suppose to be to iron out the kinks in the system…

Didn't check my mail during the weekend, so wasn't available for the "stress" test, but I did check the Beta-Con registration system, and everything worked fine for me.
The only "problem" I found is that there seems to be an address line missing on the billing information page. I tried emailing [email protected], with no luck, so I followed Sol Fury's lead and used Botcon.com's contact form.
Everything is looking good IMO. Hopefully we can register without problems this week.
I already have my hotel reservation, and plane tickets … so all I'm missing is the actual Botcon registration.

The loose set is the five figures in the box. It was mentioned the prices mentioned in the test were just there for test purposes and not actual.
From the Botcons I've been to, the average has been 2 per pack and 2 packs of Botcon exclusives. The single Bonus figure is free for attending Botcon.

Question……. I will be getting a couple Primus packages. But after the screen where you choose primus, the very next screen has an option to choose 1 add on figure per person. Are these extra sets of the Primus 5 pack? It says they will be $210 in the brochure not $180. Is there only one extra convention figure and does it cost $180 like is listed? Is this to purchase an extra figure of the Primus exclusive bonus figure or another figure? How many other exclusive figures besides the 5 pack and the bonus figure are there ussually for Botcon?
Groundsplitter
That can be discussed. No application should crash no matter what input you enter; it should present you with an error message and let you try again.
