I think it would be easier to scratch build

So far I've only been able to mold a replacement door for a movie Bumblebee and a few Lazerbeak heads. Oh and a replacement head for a Diaclone Bluestreak. When time and money permit I'm going to try to recast a WST Starscream in clear (just to see if I can). I would also like to make a WST Lazerbeak.
Incidently the Classics Diaclone Bluestreak in the Botcon gallery is mine. When I picked it up after the show the guy I was talking to asked if I had won, I said no and he asked if I actually thought the other entries were better. I said yeah that everybody really brought their A game this year and then I cited Drift as a perfect example (seriously, that was bad a$$).
So just to clarify, the concensus is that the Tetra jet Sunstorm is 100% original parts? Because it looks like someone repainted a Cybertron Starscream and added a few parts to it (and I saw it in person, from multiple angles).
As for the rules, I wasn't disappointed at losing, I'm honestly just glad that I had something to take to Botcon to enter into the contest. This was the first Botcon I've been able to attend and I found the whole experience to be fantastic!

What, no love for my Stormbringer Broadside
Might not have been the most impressive but was hoping for at least a pic or two

I really have little concern weather i was a parts formers or not, cause the damn things was SOOO well painted. the red and orange was super smooth, no chipping at all, and I loved the extra outtakes and small changes he made to get it to shine!
I honestly thought he was gonna win. We set up around the same time, and I was uber impressed. Just my two cents. You do great work, Shane. It was great meeting you, BTW. (The guy is ripped too, I felt like a fatty )

Actually, it's not that I misread it, I was just thrown by the term "partsformer". I thought he meant the figure was made from parts of an existing figure when the term (obviously) refers to a transformer that has to have parts removed or added to complete the transformation. Again, my apologies as you can see I'm still a relative noob to posting and still trying to figure out some of the terminology that gets thrown around.
Sunstorm was very well done as was Broadside. I knew I was out of the running as soon as I saw both of them.

REDLINE:
no. it was made a long time ago by a guy overseas. though, obviously Solscud could take pics of his copy. I could've gotten one last year, but it was too rich for my blood Superquad7: Quote:

Geez, this thread has been here for several weeks and I didn't even realize my "Peel-out Prime" was pictured!
So for Supersquad7, add one more radicon to the winning list!
Dak- show me the statue I repainted, and I’ll show you the model kit I modified.
It's based on a Tom Daniel model kit made in the 70's (reissued in '91 I think) that's called "Hemi-Semi". There was no piece left untouched. The grill and headlights were one piece that I separated into 3, tires and truck structure filled in (it's a fairly simple snap-together kit), I could go on. The biggest changes was there used to be a side door in the trailer that I had to remove, then add back in the rib detail, then remove parts of it again for the side decal. Please keep in mind that this is the first of several I will be making. Everything you see here will only improve. I was trying a lot of different techniques in painting and masking. Some worked, some didn't. Overall though, I think it turned out pretty well, and most importantly, I had fun doing it (complete 180 from two years ago and my scratch built 2' tall primus, oy vey). I was planning on adding it to the gallery as soon as I had some free time and found a good place to host my pics from. I don't think anyone noticed the matirx inside the cab, shouda made a sign calling that out.
Randy!

Geez, i need to start paying more attention. Looking back over the thread, i'm not even sure dak said anything about it being a statue...oh well. it was never said in malice so i hope he isn't offended.
But hells yeah! Other than the guy who brought the sixshot he didn't even make, Radicons ruled the custom side! booyah!

On that note, I really hope we see more from ya!
(btw, dak's a cool cat . . . I'd say that if he had a problem with anything, he wudda gave you a polite head's up or something )
