E-Hobby has sent out their newest letter and has also updated their website with a new advertisement for their upcoming Shattered Glass toy exclusive. The exclusive, in partnership with the Transformers Collectors' Club, will be a Shattered Glass Soundwave vs. Blaster set. From the image shared, it looks like four cassettes will be included; Shattered Glass Slugfest, Ratbat, Rewind/Eject and Ramhorn. Note that the exclusive will use the Slugfest cassette mold in this set instead of the previously thought, and much rarer, Dial cassette.

Deceptigtar
thats not slugfest, thats one of the japanese dino cassettes.

wtf if this is a set i will die.
Star Saber
Holy crap, wonder what this could mean? Hopefully if eHobby gets to release some SG figures of their own, a Henkei version of SG Prime will be among them

Waitaminute, you don't suppose they're coming out with SG versions of the recent Soundblaster/Twincast figures do you?
Thundershot
Holy crap!
orangeitis
Too mad it's not the MP Soundwave mold.
Valkysas
Global New Years special?

Cool.

Won't buy it, but cool.

You sure? He's got a little horn (though it's not silver).

Guess someone at eHobby prefers the ML Soundwave body vs the Ratchet one then
Anguirus
Intriguing. Not going to rush out and buy, but I'd enjoy the Wiki article.

This is the first really interesting bit from TCC/eHobby. Feels like something neither could do solo.
Thundershot
So THAT'S why that particular Botcon set was available to Japan via ehobby...

I've got to wonder... Is this a one event collaberation or an ongoing thing?

I hope it's ongoing. I wouldn't mind seeing more G1 reissues in SG colors.
cbff
Hmm, I'm intrigued.
Kung Fu Man
Really digging this. September's shaping up for a good month for transformers stuff, original and third party.
Lbsammills51
Frak. I'm not really a SG collector, but I do love picking up G1 cassettes. Hmmm....
Hiro Prime
AKK! More G1 Cassettes? YES!

That they're Shattered Glass is just that much sweeter. I am a happy Hiro Prime.
03Mach1
Where's Pete with the info?
Star Saber
Considering Twincast and Soundblaster weren't cheap on their own with two tapes, I wonder how they'll price this set.
froggy124
erm... I hate to burst everyones bubble, but it doesnt say anywhere on that poster about toys or figures.
Its a 12 page colour comic featuring Soundwave and Blaster that comes packaged with a "premium sticker"
e-hobby collaboration with TAKTOM.
Pre-orders start after September.

Nah, it looks like Saur to me:

Though, I gotta say that part of me wants to think it's a SG Overkill:

I'm hoping they keep the ML Soundwave and set him against a recolored Device Label Blaster.

Also, this is dropping in early September? Like my wallet hasn't been abused enough as it is...
With this rolling out so quickly after the teaser/announcement, I wonder what else they have in store? Maybe E-Hobby can hit some of the characters FunPub hasn't gotten to yet, like SG Ironhide since he's a throwback to Diaclone anyway.

Edit: Gah, just read froggy124's post. Drat, I wanted toys, not a comic.

Edit 2: To weigh in on the dinocassette, I think that's SG Slugfest. The colors seem to match the pic of him from the club fiction artwork, and I see what look like the beginnings of grey back plates being hidden by Soundwave's leg in the E-Hobby pic.
Jacer
My wallet has been crying a lot lately. This does not help lol
Automorpher
How far are we from getting a SG G1 Prime?

*Imagine the Maker starts churning out G1 Reissues in SG color scheme*
Girl Pants
I am always, ALWAYS, up for more cassettebots. And here I was thinking the recent Encore tapes were going to be as obscure as it gets.

A few oddities though. Isn't SG Ratbat dark brown/red or so ( I seem to recall a comic of him basically being Batman)? As well, if that dinosaur isn't Overkill or Slugfest and is one of the combiner dinos, why is he with Soundwave? All 4 combiner dinos are Autobots...

Anyway, if the cassettes are available on their own, they are bought unconditionally. If they're all packed together, I might think it through first. Although now that there will be more SG cassettes, I wonder if selling off my Botcon SG Ravage was such a good idea...
T4mercustomz
I'm interested in this!
Hydra Custom
It's Slugfest, not Dile. He's standing on his hind legs like the cute pet he is. Check out "Dungeons and Dinobots," he's Ramhorn-colored.
kiyoshioni
I will buy the hell out of these guys.

Always use more cassette bots for the collection.
The_Black_Sheep
So these are gonna be G1 figures done as shattered glass? Why the fuck would I wanna buy G1 figures done as shattered glass?!
adambman
I wonder if MP-13 will get this treatment someday...

I feel this should be quoted so people don't get carried away thinking toys are coming (like I did, digibashing SG Blaster in my excitement).
bigpink
It is listed in this as Dial (Diaru) but if you look at the image he has plates on his back. (Look close around Soundwave's leg)

It's not the Diaru mold. It's Slugfest. Maybe they will call it Dial, but's it's not Diaru.
bigpink
Also, this is Dial (Dairu). Which does not look like Slugfest.

Yeah, I think Slugfest is correct. I wasn't aware of this, simply because I'm not into Shattered Glass at all:

"SG Soundwave vs SG Blaster" is name of product.
12p comic, premium sticker, and deluxe package are listed as purchase amenity.
tackertackle

Because new repaints are cool to G1 fans.

If Detritus was called SG Hound and Overcharge was called SG Blitzwing, the toys would still look cool.
RedAlert Rescue
I never bothered to buy anything besides G1 Soundwave and E-Hobby Twincast so It might be nice to have some others (I really should buy those recent reissues - but then I'd still not have Blaster - 'Chuckle').
I don't have the Device label one either - Hopefully he will get cheaper when he comes out in China.

Look like a fun set though - it's curious that 5 cassettes are shown - is one sold on it's own ?

I wonder what else would work in a similar way > How about a Shattered Glass G1 Convoy ?

I'd buy that!
CZ Hazard
Very torn. I dislike SG, but love G1 repaints, especially cassettes.
GAUGE
god i hate SG. i wish it would just hurry up and die already.
Afterburner
That's not Saur.

Also, shattered glass from eHobby? How does that feel like eHobby? Feels like just more club toys. A shoot and a miss. Very disappointing.

It is more Club toys. Using molds that they wouldn't be able to use through Hasbro.

eHobby is generally weird stuff in general

Plus, with Enemy existing, they've dried up most of the well of Diaclone homages they could whip up

But eh, people not being interested means more cassettes for me
Grandum
NO!!!!! the shattered glass cancer needs to be stopped!!
Superquad7
I couldn't care less about Shattered Glass, but I might consider this if it's not too expensive for the cassettes
