A few quick little updates for the e-HOBBY + TFCC Collaboration Shattered Glass Soundwave VS Blaster set (Which goes for preorder through the Transformers Collectors Club store later today) for you this morning. First up, e-HOBBY has updated their product page with a new packaging sample image. On an interesting note, the “Solar Bot” toy (Who will allegedly be a translucent yellow redeco of the Eject/Rewind mold) has been photoshopped out/left out of the packaging sample. Is a reveal of this toy still to come?
On a related note, the Transformers Collectors Club has clarified a few things via their Twitter account regarding the release of this set: The EHobby is not build to order BUT we can order as many as we want. Confused? To clarify, our order has to be in BEFORE the Pre-order period is up on our end. So we could technically run out as we are not going to go heavy on these. We will do a guesstimate based on the first couple weeks of sales. We won’t go overboard and cut it way short as we know many will wait till that last week. But we dont want to be way heavy either. So when you are able to, please get your order in.

I thought preorders were until 10/15? I now got an email saying preorders close on 10/2

Did anyone else order bubblewrap, but not have it show up on their email invoice? I clicked on the little box, but it definitely didn't get added to my order.
I clicked on it during the checkout process, not on the view cart page… when you're on the view cart, you can click update to add it, but if you're on the checkout and click it, it doesn't count, so if you're trying to make a purchase, remember that. something in their coding isn't setup right.
I called, and they said they would make a note to add it, but that there was no way to say positively that it would show up on my order. and i think if i cancel, i have to pay a fee, so it's just annoying.
rework
My work computer has IE8.
Lumpy
yeah, that's odd that it's having issues. seems like they did some testing though, just didn't tell anyone what the preferred browser is.
for those of you who got an error, was it an updated version of the browser, or an old version?
rework
toyarama needs to do some browser compatibility tests. My computer at work got the same results, but it worked fine at home.

i misread what you typed, i thought you said $255 plus shipping and membership, not $255 including shipping and membership.
Starscream Gaga
The extra figure costs about $50 shipping too, so that just further adds to the price for us international folk.

250? done, but ouch.

Well I ordered mine from BBTS. Hopefully I'll have something in my POL…

I think membership is now $42 and shipping is dependent on location & service. I think my shipping charge was $11 or $13. Either way, it is in the ballpark but not everyone pays the same shipping cost, so could just say "around $255".
But ignoring that the membership fee does give other benefits is kinda annoying… the membership figure is one thing you get for that money, and possibly of less relevance to some: 6 magazines/comics, right to purchase other club items(possibly the next set of sub figures, current sub figure extras, possibly next ehobby collaboration, Botcon extras) plus a discount on Botcon packages(attending or non-attending).

How so?
$195 for the figures.
$20 for the shipping if I recall.
$40 for the membership if you aren't a member, unless membership cost went down.
$255.
How are the numbers wrong, again?

I'm thinking BBTS is ordering directly from e-hobby, just like they have in the past. Meaning they are probably getting them at wholesale cost.
Lumpy
255? where did you get that price… it's 195 + Shipping + Membership. I see what you're saying, but your numbers are wrong. Also, with the membership you do get an extra figure that you don't get with BBTS, but i still understand why people would go the BBTS route, and either way FP gets the sale.
as for the price, i was wondering if BBTS gets a discount too… I figure they've gotta get at least 10-20% off for buying 150 or so, which appears to be around the numbers they're buying. but i guess we'll never know.

Yea, while I am a club member, with all the stuff that has been coming out lately, and in the near future (club subscription, FP Exclusive Insecticons, MP Thundercracker, MP Optimus, MP Soundwave, MP Sideswipe, MP Red Alert, Takara Prime stuff, United Ultra Magnus, United Artfire, etc, etc.) I know I cannot budget for this right now and still feel good about myself. But it is on my shortlist, and is now on preorder for me at BBTS. Not sure if the club gives the bubblewrap option (though I don't think my last figures actually came with the bubblewrap I paid for), plus insurance, shipping, paying now, (don't think there is tax), the $35-40 difference for an option to buy made more sense to me.

Still, the $80 membership makes this just $10 more with shipping then the TCC's price before shipping (which means we'd have to add on at least $40 to the already $280) and if I am not mistaken, international members also have to pay shipping per magazine issue that is released. In the end this is just so much cheaper then getting it from the club for us non-member international folk.
Still, like I said, its a bitter pill to swallow, but I probably will swallow it. US fans are really lucky to have TCC be so much more easy to get. BBTS gives me time to save up and think about my decision by holding one before they're sold out.

There is the added benefit of getting to save up your money for an additional couple of months as well… to some people, spending an extra $50 or so is worth it if they want this but don't have the $200 or so kicking around right now but know they can have it by Jan.
Honestly, for non-members in the US that want this, this is probably the best deal, as it's $255 from the club for figure + shipping + membership, $250 from BBTS with minimal shipping if you've got a POL.
Plus, if you don't want it, you can just drop it from your POL, no harm done, don't have to worry about getting a refund or anything. Yea, for non-club members BBTS is 100% the better bet with this price. They barely left themselves any room to profit, only like $40 or so on each set unless FunPub gave them a bulk discount or something.

I think they have changed how they do their shipments, Shipping was normally stupid to canada but now it is very reasonable.

When I hit checkout I get this:

Nevermind, I installed Firefox. Preorder in. Total cost $209 and change.
Starscream Gaga
Nope, unfortunately for us the club membership is $80 and then shipping could be anywhere between $40-100 and they are notorious for not doing well with international shipments.
In the end its far cheaper to just pay the money to get it from a different seller, although it is a very bitter pill to swallow. But at least at BBTS I have months to save up and/or make a final decision on if I can afford it closer to release date.
