E-Hobby and the Transformers Collectors Club Announce Partnership

E-Hobby have announced that they are entering into a collaboration with the Transformers Collector's Club! Exactly what this partnership is bringing to the table is unknown, but wishful speculation is that it will give Japanese fans access to the US TFCC exclusives, and US fans access to E-Hobby's own awesome exclusives without the need for a middleman.

Of course that is all speculation - full details will be announced on the E-Hobby Magazine site in due course. I for one am looking forward to finding out more - and once we know more we will share the news with you here on TFW.

Whaaaaa--?
BraveMax
If I had to guess, I'd say that TFCC might offer the club exclusives through eHobby?
Chris McFeely
I'd hope for it being the other way around - using the club as a North American venue for eHobby exclusives, without the major price markups of independent stores! But since it's eHobby announcing this and not the club, you're probably right...
BraveMax
Glad they put that up - couldn't do it from my phone!
barrelks
this could be really interesting
Josh
oooh...most intriguing

We're talking about the TFCC here .. they charge $3 for bubblewrap

Still pretty cool if they may be carrying some eHobby exclusives .. totally unexpected ...
Reeds
Maybe we can get some nice G1 repaints for next year.
Stepper
This is 1 collaboration that i will love to see
Tanafor
Hope it's eHobby carrying TFCC exclusives. That way I could use a proxy and still pay less than the theft I had to pay to TFCC ($40 I think) for shipping Over-Run to Spain.
Paladin
Oh good, now they have a whole new consumer base to defraud.
[Wing_Saber-X]
I want them already!
Prime Evil
I hope nothing but great figure ideas from this partnership.

What this partnership means to me > Yet more over-priced figures I'll have to hunt down on Ebay... :/
Megabattimus
...Cool, I guess. Seriously though, I don't see why Ehobby would join up with the TFCC, especially after the TFCC's credit card fiasco.

Not to mention that somehow they forget to use the bubblewrap.

does this mean you can buy through E-Hobby and avoid paying club membership fees. that would be great.
Stepper
Never expect that Ehobby will partner with TFCC
Alejandro27
Next question, When can I order my stepper and Artfire?
Stepper
Erm,i think Artfire has nothing got to do with either Ehobby or TFCC since it is a Million Publishing Magazine exclusive
dtjattan
This could be awesome!!! The ability to get e-hobby items from TFCC would be very nice!
Thundershot
I wonder if the subscription figures will be available through ehobby as well. We are getting close to the detail announcement time for that...
Girl Pants
Hopefully it's a two-way relationship - allowing Japanese-only molds to come overseas and allowing TFCC toys an outlet into Japan. Best of both worlds.
NC Bulkhead
I'm still not taking the bait. They'll still never get my money again (and definitely not my cc info).
Kaijumaster
Shut up and take my money?

I'm hoping Pete will pop up today to comment on this.
Optimus Prime
Here's hoping it's a two-way partnership; Japan gets TFCC stuff, and we get E-Hobby stuff. That would be excellent.
sunlink
As much as I want to see a two-way partnership E-hobby has sometimes used toys that wouldnt pass US safety laws. If TFCC started to become the US side of E-hobby I wonder how this would affect the choices made on what the E-hobby exclusives are.

Beyond those doubts I really see this as TFCC opening up a larger membership base, assuming TFCC exclusives could be gotten via E-hobby. This should open up the doors to larger quantities being made which should help reduce the cost to produce the figures and make them cheaper for us.
Rakhamon
Mind = blown.

Seriously. Mind blown.
Alucard77
Mind = not blown.

I just worry that tfcc will f this up like they f everything else up. I feel bad for ehobby tbh.

I'm just guessing here, but wouldn't the fact they print "adult collectables not intended for children" on the box be a workaround on that?
Bogatan
If this is a each making the other exclusives available through there online store potentially great news, but it would depend how it was implemented. Probably for US members it will work well enough however it happened, but if the ehobby exclusives are sent to TFCC who then ship them on at there usual eye watering shipping costs then I expect most any other route would work out cheaper.

If TFCC are just processing orders which are sent directly from China/Japan to the customer then theres potential.
Fosterlager
I already have outlets for e-Hobby releases that work just fine. And take Paypal.

Not to mention those outlets probably use tracking, better packaging in the shipping box and faster shipping at that.
Powersa
Interesting news. I have no doubt this will help either TFCC members or Japan customers, maybe both.

e-hobby doesn't do membership figure/fee though. TFCC does. So it's like seeing Sam's club partnership with a mall.
jerminator
I'm not getting my hopes up...just to have them dashed when the full announcement is made.
Reflector Prime
Considering Hydra is now working for Ehobby, and he was at Botcon this year (like usual) this is a pleasant surprise! I hope it is a great working relationship, only good things can come of this.
PikaManiac
I hope this means TFCC exclusives become more affordable and common. I have always hated the fact how BotCon and TFCC exclusives are so unaffordable in the secondary market. On the other hand, eHobby exclusives are usually more affordable and common.
StayingInTheBox
I can't help but have high hopes for this announcement. Please let it be something spectacular.
yakko
The TF Club just posted "So. Heard the news? More details coming Monday..." on Twitter.
Looks like someone's working on the holiday.

Only good things can come out of this.... at least I hope so

That was posted in Funpublications speak. Let me translate: So. Heard the news? More details coming Tuesday..."
General Tekno
You know, this partnership makes some measure of sense. Expands the customer base of the TCC subcriptions, which brings down the price for everyone due to production numbers (in theory anyway)

More intriguing though is their follow up tweet, which says "AWESOME things for US and Japanese fans!"
Anguirus
This is awfully interesting. And it makes lots of sense. The collectors market is VERY savvy and globally focused, and is often frustrated by difficulties inherent in getting different-country exclusives. Feel like if anything at all comes out of this, it will be more exclusives, more available.

I don't understand why some people are acting like TFCC will now be in charge of running eHobby's retail site. I don't think that makes sense. But we'll find out more soon it seems.
cbff
Fort Max reissue through the Club/ehobby? Yes please!
PrimeOQZ
Do you think the announcement may have to do with how exclusives are made. Brian has said that it is very difficult for the manufacture to do a small run of toys for botcon. Now with ehobby, there can be a partnership to do more quantity and different types of exclusives while making it available to a wider audience with more accessability.
Star Saber
Wow, that's great news Hope it's going to make more exclusives more accessible for everyone!
Omegax80
Holy Primus.

Maybe, just maybe we can get eHobby exclusive without insane markups? I bet online import retailers are going to get ticked!

I will never understand so many peoples desire for owning a 2 foot brick.

I'll take Ehobby Omega Sentinal first.....oh sweet mercy Ehobby has access to the Omega Supreme mold. Omega Doom!
Smasher
Could be quite cool!
