Details Regarding Hasbro Hong Kong's Presence at Ani-con hk1
HK-TF has posted information regarding Hasbro Hong Kong's (HK) presence at Ani-Con that is to be held from August 1st to August 5th. Hasbro HK's display booth will look like a gigantic Generation One Optimus Prime's vehicle mode that can be walked into! As previously revealed, Hasbro HK will also be giving away 10 of the 88 Gold Optimus Prime movie toys that were made for the first 10 people to spend $3000 HKD at their booth. Also at the event will be two exclusive boxsets, limited to 100 each. These boxsets, made of a synthetic, leather-like material, will each contain five movie toys. The Autobot boxset will contain Premium Optimus Prime, Premium Bumblebee, Premium Jazz, Premium Ironhide, and regular Ratchet, while the Decepticon boxset will feature Premium Megatron, Premium Blackout, Premium Barricade, Deep Space Starscream, and regular Deluxe Brawl. Click the image to the left for various images of the booth and exclusives that have been made public thus far.

Hasbro HK is going to set up a TF booth/display at Ani-con, the annual animation and comic show in Hong Kong to be held 1st - 5th August this year. The Hong Kong fandom, H K - T F ( www.hk-tf.com ) will provide their own toy collection to help with Hasbro HK's G1 display.

Optimus Prime is the booth!

The event will feature some gold movie Optimus Prime toys. Only 88 have been made worldwide, with Hasbro HK giving 10 away to people who spend over HKD$3000 at their booth. There is already a line outside the convention centre with 2 days untill opening.

Besides the gold movie Optimus Prime toy, also available at the event will be 2 special HK exclusive boxsets, limited to 100 each:

The boxes are actually not simple cardboard boxes. They're of a synthetic, leather-like material. Very nice.

Autobots Set contains Premium Optimus Prime, Premium Bumblebee, Premium Jazz, Premium Ironhide, and regular Ratchet:

Decepticon Set contains Premium Megatron, Premium Blackout, Premium Barricade, Deep Space Starscream, and regular Deluxe Brawl:

That's a hell of a debut!

That's $3000 HKD (Hong Kong Dollars) which equates to only $380 (or something close to that). Really not bad for a gold prime.

I shudder to think what those box sets will go for on ebay. Wish I had a few, lol. Very nice.
Opticron Primal:
What? No Bonecrusher love?
Trailbreaker77:
So is takara going to show off anymore of there Henkei line?

Technically, the Gold Prime will be a freebie as you're buying $3000 worth of other stuff as well.

And yes, those sets are freaking hot. I love how all the premiums are "shiney" and "super detailed"....and then there's Brawl

I don't think so... this is a Hasbro booth.

Japan's Summer Wonder Festival is this weekend as well, so chances are there will be some Takara related news coming from that. Hopefully Alternity and Henkei etc.

They have a contact for Pat Lee, but none of the current TF artists.

That's the nicest way I can phrase it anyway...
loudstone:
lol @ brawl

They didn't have much of an option for a fifth decepticon, and having two Leader class guys would probably have been a bit much... but Deluxe Brawl was pretty lame, they could have at least tossed on a couple more paint apps or something. It wouldn't have fixed the mold, but it would have been SOMETHING.
Railguard:
Eh, its ok I guess. I just can't wait to find Galvy and Acid Storm.

Zie is correct.

btw, I just don't know how will I spend hk$3000 at their booth simply I have everything already...

Most people at the line(s) waiting already are shooting for other limited edition HK comics exclusive which are so limited... The HK locale newspapers mentioned what they are looking for... and they didn't quote any transformers or fans whom looking for transformers... hehehe... (but of course it doesn't mean none of them are looking to buy the TF exclusive...)

Technically, you're correct. I guess it's all in the perspective - for me it would be spending approx. $380 for the Gold Prime and getting all the other stuff for free

x___X

[or is it Alex Milne art in disguise?? lolz]
littleiron:
I went to Pat Lee's DA page last year, he said in the journals that he had gone to HK and began his new life as a concept artist for movies there.

So, apparently he's the closest TF celebrity who Hasbro(HK) could find.
Fit For natalie:
Didn't Hasbro get ripped off by Pat Lee's company? Doesn't Hasbro HK know their parent company is owed money by Pat Lee and his associates?

Gold Prime is awesome. Too bad they didn't transform his feet.
Brodimus Prime:
[quote]Pat Lee certificate? is he return to Transformers...!? i hope so.../QUOTE]

Please tell me you're kidding! The man nearly killed Transformers as a comic series; in fact, you could argue that he DID kill it, but IDW gave it new life. The man was sleazy, deceitful, dishonest, and a piss-poor story teller as an artist (though I'll admit some of his stuff looks good as poster art). I would run away from anything that had his name plastered on it. His TF Wikia page still cracks me up.

On topic: those sets look sweet. It's a shame I bought the Voyager Prime and Megs before the premiums came out. And Gold Prime is ridiculous. I never saw why folks spent so much on em. Gold plastic syndrome, anyone?

I agree that I don't understand the draw of Goldimus Prime, but he shouldn't suffer from GPS. That comes from plastic that is a goldish color, while this is all gold chrome applied to non-gold plastic.
Automorpher:
I'm wondering if anyone would really buy it at $1K?? (I mean the BUY IT NOW price for Cons set) These aren't anything more special than the normal retail release. Mm..Well, maybe the box..
