Ah yes……who else will be at Botcon 2009? None other than David Kaye! You heard him as Megatron from Beast Wars, and other characters, most recently as Optimus Prime from Transformers Animated! Here is more details about his attendance from the Botcon site:
David will be at BotCon Saturday, May 30th only. He will be available for two autograph sessions and one voice actor panel. He will also be joining us for the Party at Paramount! on Saturday night.

Can I get a serious vote on convincing people to stop asking "How can I get into voice acting?" type questions at convention panels?
Like, if anybody asks in a serious manner (and aren't just being wags), we get to pour a bucket of slime over them

Ohh … I hope they take advantage of that fact and do a script reading session with Grimlock and Grimlock.

It just won't be the same without Jux throwing up in his glass followed by an evil "Yesss."

This is David's third BotCon in a row. He's becoming a regular. 😉
After he signed my BW DVDs last year (all three seasons) people kept asking me to sell them. I politely said no because I love them and am thankful that he (and hopefully some more actors) signed them. He's very funny and likes soccer!

But if Botcon announces the guests now, there won't be any surprises at the convention!
Silent_Magnus
If only we could get Tom Wyner!
AniProwl
I'm suprised no one mentioned that both the voice of G1 Grimlock (Berger) and the voice of Animated Grimlock (Kaye) will be at the same convention. That just blows my mind.

Totally seals the deal that Mainframe/Rainmaker animated it on top of that.
VV Holy shit you're right. Truly this is a momentous occasion

Though I must continue a BotConissh rant of, "Why didn't they let out word on all of the guests before? Unless they aren't getting a good lead time on thier bookings."
Jarodimus
Thank goodness! I didn't get a chance to ask him how to break into voice acting last year.

Met him and had him sign my MISB TM2 Megs at Botcon 2007. Heck of a nice guy.
Funny thing, my 3-yo daughter has a "Barbie Rapunzel" DVD that she loves… she was watching it the other day and I heard that unmistakeable voice. Checked the credits and it was him.
And the best part? He plays an evil purple dragon… in the full-on Megatron voice. Now I don't mind watching Barbie Rapunzel with her.
Silent_Magnus
I've seen videos of people asking voice actors(mostly Scott McNeil) for voice samples.
Not sure if Kaye does it.

Got a question
This is my forst time attending and I am getting the prmius package if that makes a diff to my question
I hope to get a autograph and I wondering, can I ask David to do a voice sample for me and can I record it
Silent_Magnus
I'd rather have Townsend Coleman.
Especialy if there was some sort of script reading involving the two.
angelus2402004
YAAY!!!!! Someone better record him please!!!!
AniProwl
Third year in a row for Mr. Kaye.
I would like Tom Kenny and Jeff Bennett to attend with him.

Damn. I missed the chance to get his autograph last year due to bad timing at the convention, more rubbing the salt in the wound.
Other than that, Botcon's got a great guest lineup this year!
RoboticPlanet
Excellent news. Time for the fanboy in me to get an autograph.

Cool, but are we going to get any voice actor/actor guests this year that HAVEN'T been to previous Botcons? To be honest, it doesn't really look like FP is taking much advantage of the fact that we're essentially in Hollywood this year… I mean, I'm not expecting Shia or someone that high-profile, but SOMEbody that we couldn't have gotten otherwise…

Real sweet.
