Posted on 12-01-2012 at 06:41 PM by Superquad7 under Conventions
Hal-Rayle-Charticon
Newly-organized Charticon makes another guest announcement - Hal Rayle! Transformers fans will know him from his voice work for Generation One as Shrapnel, Snarl, and the creator of the Chaos Bringer himself - Primacron! Mr. Rayle makes his convention debut at Charticon next August 9-11, 2013!

Also, the guys at Charticon give us a glimpse into an exclusive item for the convention - a souvenir pin! This pin is only available to those who preregister.

You can view the official announcements from the guys at Charticon after the jump. You can check out their Facebook page as well as their website for more information. The flyer for the convention is mirrored here as well.

"Alright so big news was promised and here it is: the next guest that will be joining us at Charticon 2013 will be Hal Rayle! Hal has voiced hundreds of characters over his long career including Deep Six from G.I. Joe, Raphael in the European Vacation episodes of T.M.N.T. as well as the Predator from Predator 2! Transformers fans know him best as the Insecticon Shrapnel, the Dinobot Snarl and Primacron (the creator of Unicron) in the original G1 cartoon series! We are thrilled that Hal will be making his Transformers Convention debut with us at Charticon!

[ . . . . ] we thought we would offer a sneak preview of one of our exclusives: the Charticon Pin! The only way to receive this pin is to Pre-Register for the show, it won't be available anywhere else!"

Glad to see this is going to happen!

Finally, something fairly close I can actually go to. Also, my first con.
SMOG
This gets my vote for the best, most adorable obscure geek-reference name for a local convention ever.

Love that graphic.

My first and last Botcon was the one held in Durham in 2001. It'll be very nice to have the option of having another convention here in NC I REALLY hope I can go.

Sweet! I was afraid I wasn't going to get to go to a con next year, but now...

Is the title pronounced "sharticon" like Charlotte is pronounced "Sharlotte?" If it is, that's kind of funny.

This is great news. If Botcon ends up being too far away again next year, I am SO THERE.

Awesome! I can't wait! It just keeps getting better.

Nice. I met David Sobolov at Slagacon in 2011, great guy and he signed my Depth Charge figure. Now... will Hasbro have a Prime Shockwave toy to market before Charticon?!

Really looking forward to this con. It's gonna be on my mind all year. I haven't been to NC since BC 01! Gonna be different as I haven't been in over a decade.

We're really looking forward to it too. I loved BC 01 as that was my very first 'con so we are hoping to recapture some of that more intimate gathering feel.

But there will still be plenty of toys!
ScottyP
Just preregistered, looking forward to it! Sent you an email as well

Yes, that's what I love in TF conventions. The intimate feel. I've gone to other cons and they don't seem to have that vibe. Maybe it comes from our fan community and how we operate, or maybe something else. Either way, it's a good thing.

And trust me, I'm gonna buy plenty of those toys
Superquad7
I'm still really hoping I can go.

Only 7 more months

What, I can't do a count down?

You and me both! I'm almost to the point where I am counting the hours!

Also we just finished our most recent flyer design, I thought this would be a good place to show it.
