BotCon 2012 Sunday Hasbro Display Cases Update

Loving the packaging for Cliffjumper, can't wait to pick him up in a few months.

After seeing the pics of Bumblebee's exo-suit, I'm actually sold on it, I love the cyberverse vehicles and to add a mech suit to it is like icing on the cake.

Dreadwing looks decent. Might pick him up.

Dreadwing looks excellent. Hope that he keeps that blue for the retail release, too.

Cliffjumper looks good. I love that box.

And DAT BRUTICUS!

What I like most though is the yellow clear plastic, it actually melds very well with the design, it's not a flaw like with Optimus or Starscream.

Can't wait to pick him and hopefully his repaint brother, up eventually.

Dreadwing is pure sex. Modifying his mechtech into his underslung cannon should be cake.

Indeed, it really enhances the look of the figure. Even the gun looks surprisingly good! Really looks like this will be one of the winners of the line.

There's a FOC/WFC Voyager Soundwave, meaning at least 2-3 more voyager molds.

During the panel, they said in regards to FOC Dinobot toys that Grimlock is awesome in the game, and everyone would want one, but all 5 dinobots would be tougher. (Thus hinting to the Grimlock toy)

He's being marketing like nothing else.


Be patient, 99.9% chance there will be a Grimlock toy, and SDCC might be the time to reveal it.

On the one hand I was going to wait for the inevitable Skyqauke repaint and put dreadwing with my 2006 Maximals as Depth Charge.

But on the other hand they just ANNOUNCED a Depth Charge, so should I buy dreadwing or wait?

Dreadwing looks like a good mold. I'd like to repaint him in G1 Dreadwing colors.

And anyword on the other FOC toys mentioned? Sideswipe and Starscream are two I'd love to see, though, I thick Sideswipe might just be a Jazz repaint.

I find it extremely lame that they can't be bothered to make all of the hugging Dinobots or all of the Insecticons. Soundwave Voyager? I'll get him for the discs. Soundwave should be a deluxe. MP-10? Too large won't fit in the chug line. I've got a thrid party trailer. Fireflight? I'll rename him scattorshot more than likely. Sideswipe and Starscream? Multiple buys of sideswipe, Maybe Starscream. Soundblaster? Fail. Go with Blaster. Again deluxe sized please. I'll be buying them to reshell if possible into a deluxe toy. Possiblity of Springer? Probably going to swing for Warbot if they can't get it together. With the addition of the Legion class to Generations it looks like it is going to be another lean year of official transformer buying. Raging Chug fan? Disappointed by what has been let out of the tube so far.

Starscream was shown at a Chinese convention last month, but we haven't seen anything else, aside from Soundwave and the current FOC figures.

Singapore not equals Chinese! No offence, but as a Singaporean I HAD to point that out.

I think i'll have to take a closer look at that Dreadwing, i just breezed through the pics, so didn't really get a good look at him, the clear weapon gave me the impression that it was the cyberverse at first, heh.

Anyways, the only three figures that interest me in that entire list are Dreadwing, Airachnid, god, i hope she's mis-transformed, she has so much kibble behind her head, i actually had to do a double take to make sure the name tag said Deluxe. With any luck, she might be a tripple changer, if her rotors are articulated.

And Terricon Cliffjumper, He looks sweet! I'm so hoping that he gets released at retail (even without the exclusive packaging), since i didn't get the FE version, i'd love to have this guy (I need some undead in my collection)

The only thing i'm disappointed about, is that we didn't see any hint of a Weaponizer/Leader Megatron.

Kinda defeats the purpose of an exclusive doesn't it?

Don't count on it. The entire reason this is a SDCC exclusive is because a retail version can't happen anymore, not with FE dead.

Wow! I really get a kick out of the packaging for Terrorcon Cliffy. The giant head version freaked me out! As I said before, I have no interest since I have the regular FE, but the deco looks pretty awesome and I like how none of the car "scars" are lost in robot mode, especially the one on his hood which ends up on his back.

I really wish game-accurate Bruticus wasn't an SDCC exclusive. Aquiring him being a potential problem, he'll also be out on HTS around the same time pre-orders go up for a figma I've been wanting for months. If only I had more money!

Dreadwing...holy shit I want him. He looks amazing.

Bumble-armor...frankly, I could see somebody doing something with this to make it better, but as it is I have no interest.

MP-10 looks nice, again, but he doesn't appear to come with the Energon Axe, which is kind of a bummer.

Also, for those of you who are wanting Terrorcon Cliffy at retail, not happening. But, Hasbro did say at their panel that getting the FE's back out and finally at American retail proper is one of their top priorities, so there is still some hope.

Hopefully MP-10 will be easier to get a hold of than the other TRU MP's they've put out in the past.

Hopefully the FEs will get re-released, I also hope they say something about a Leader Megatron eventually.

To think, all Cliff had to do these years to get attention and multiple molds that weren't just Bumblebee repaints... he had to die in the first episode. *facepalm*

You know, as nice as the Masterpiece Prime looks....is it just me, or is the blue a little *too* light? I mean, don't get me wrong, the show-accurate Roller is tempting in and of itself, but something about it doesn't look quite right. I can't wait to get this next to a Japanese MP-10 to compare colors....

Yeah, sorry, that's not gonna happen. The whole point of this release is that he initially WAS supposed to be a retail release, but got cancelled... so this is Hasbro's way of getting him out to the public in one form or the other (arguably this is a superior method anyway, as it let them do him right with the additional paint and slick packaging).

On the up-side, SDCC releases have traditionally been some of the easier and more affordable exclusive to acquire. Most end up being sold on Hasbrotoyshop for their regular price the week after the show closes, and hang around for at least a few days (well, not counting the lightning-fast disappearance of Sky Striker Starscream).

I gotta say Voyager Dreadwing looks sick and even the mechtech gun looks good from what Im seeing it doesn't have that bulky mess that the starscream one has.
