| 11:03 | Here we are again, this time with the Botcon 2009 Hasbro Designers Panel |
| 11:07 | Okay, we're starting |
| 11:07 | Eric, Bill Rawley and Joe Kyde are presenting |
| 11:09 | Human Alliance Skids with Mikaela |
| 11:09 | Also comes with Arcee |
| 11:10 | Arcee is not perfect, she's quite small to fit Mikaela |
| 11:10 | [Comment From Lucid Dreamer] did they show skid's packagin or a pic of the real toy? |
| 11:10 | Real toy, looks nice |
| 11:11 | Reissue Perceptor does come with the missile launcher, it's just not functional |
| 11:11 | Insecticons are shown too |
| 11:11 | Arcee shown first, we've seen the pics |
| 11:12 | Some prototype photos, about as tall head to foot as 2007 Movie Bumblebee |
| 11:14 | Same height as Animated Jazz, broad shoulders |
| 11:14 | Cybertron mode Ratchet now |
| 11:14 | Can fit EMP from Lockdown on his arm, he comes with defibulator panels |
| 11:14 | Hydrodive Bumblebee, pretty neat |
| 11:15 | Very close to a cross between his animation model and his Movie form |
| 11:16 | Parts will fit on the Voyager Optimus as well as the Deluxe one he comes with |
| 11:16 | On to the 2010 Movie line |
| 11:16 | He's got a very G1 deco, compatible with Ironhide's accessories |
| 11:17 | Skystalker, he's got a gerwalk mode, detachable axe weapons in the wings, dark deco |
| 11:17 | Scattorshot and Deluxe Ratchet now |
| 11:18 | They're going with archenemy pairings, Ratchet and Lockdown for example |
| 11:18 | Movie Lockdown is the same size as Animated Lockdown, very similar designs |
| 11:19 | Lockdown can also take Deluxe Racthet's EMP |
| 11:19 | Prototype Drift sketches, very close to the IDW one |
| 11:19 | More of Voyager Jungle Ironhide and Bludgeon |
| 11:20 | Bludgeon can wear his swords on his hip |
| 11:21 | utterly amazing prototype, hidden missiles, spot on to how he looks in the movie, amazing jet mode, you guys will love this one |
| 11:21 | Human Alliance Barricade |
| 11:21 | Frenzy pops out of the chest, can sit on the shoulder and stuff |
| 11:22 | Aaron Archer is bringing in a special surprise |
| 11:23 | "Left cheek needs a rest, this movie I'm saying right cheek" |
| 11:25 | Tyrese thanks us all for our support |
| 11:25 | SPOILERS -
Epps is now a master sergeant, pulls a lot more influence with the military |
| 11:27 | He's planning on hanging out with the fans after the panel |
| 11:27 | If he could take any of the vehicles home with him, he'd take Optimus Prime (he was utterly speechless when he met Peter Cullen last night) |
| 11:28 | Tyrese is now taking questions |
| 11:30 | [Comment From shinobi77] what does Tyrese think of the Rabid Fandom of TFs? |
| 11:30 | He loves it, he's a guy who grew up with the show like us |
| 11:32 | Tyrese and Josh spent a lot of time training in military techniques for the film |
| 11:33 | He's not actually seen the Sideswipe toy he comes with yet, but he's going to be shopping for toys later |
| 11:34 | (The Human Alliance) |
| 11:37 | Wow, a lot of commitment from the cast - he was talking about how Shia felt bad for missing four hours of filming over an on set accident |
| 11:38 | No particular connection with any of the Transformers, however, Epps gets on well with all the Transformers |
| 11:40 | Tyrese is working with Macfarlane, Kirkman and Stevenson to make a comic for Image Comics called Mayhem, sold over 8000 copies on preorder alone for one store alone |
| 11:40 | It's coming out in August |
| 11:41 | He's been approached to do Luke Cage for Marvel Pictures, possibly for the Captain America film |
| 11:42 | And that's the end of the panel |
| 11:43 | [Comment From Opticron Primal] Can you get a sense of height from the pic of Blackout? |
| 11:43 | [Comment From Lucid Dreamer] blackout has an earth mode right? does he he have the movie alt mode?? |
| 11:44 | Looks like he'll be pretty imposing, probably a bit taller than Lugnut. Earth mode definitely recalls his 2007 movie alt mode, that is the inspiration. Six rotored copter |
| 11:44 | [Comment From cheetorBWORG] Is Breakdown an Ironhide repaint? |
| 11:44 | Movie Breakdown is a complete new mold, he looks very much like the Generation 1 Strunticon Breakdown. Fantastic toy. |
| 11:45 | [Comment From Red Frenzy] Does Rodimus have his weapons integrated into his vehicle mode or can they be stored like Sentinel Prime? |
| 11:45 | Stored - the bow attaches to the top of his spoiler |
| 11:45 | [Comment From vampyr] skystalker is animated? |
| 11:45 | Skystalker, Breakdown and Scattorshot are Movie Scouts |
| 11:46 | [Comment From Hobbes] Is Ratchet's deco movie-style green, or is it an Animated red/white homage? |
| 11:46 | The Deluxe Movie Ratchet was an unpainted prototype, he's probably green though |
| 11:46 | [Comment From Nemesis Predaking] Movie Lockdown is going to be a 2 pack? |
| 11:46 | [Comment From Lucid Dreamer] what about his alt-mode? realistic or animated style (lockdowns) |
| 11:47 | Single release, it's a realistic version of the Animated design. |
| 11:47 | [Comment From DeeJay] Deluxe Movie Ratchet comes with EMP? |
| 11:48 | It's a rifle, big gun rather than the compact thing from Animated |
| 11:49 | [Comment From terrorsaur 128] Wat does jungle ironhide look like? |
| 11:50 | He's the Movie Ironhide Voyager, black with lightning bolts, loads of weapons, he has a bumper that turns into a crossbow and a rifle with a bayonet. Looks decent |
| 11:50 | [Comment From C.Lennox] So that means there will definitely be a Drift in production? Or just teasing with concept sketches? |
| 11:50 | Early days yet, just concept sketches. He's probably coming, not sure which lines |
| 11:51 | [Comment From realCliffjumper] Lockdown can fit Animated deluxe Ratchet's EMP or ROTF deluxe Ratchet's (if he has one)? |
| 11:51 | Movie Lockdown fits Movie Deluxe Ratchet's EMP rifle. |
| 11:51 | [Comment From Robowang] What size class is tank Bludgeon? |
| 11:52 | Voyager, utterly awesome design, his sword is the gunbarrel of the tank |
| 11:52 | [Comment From TriBlurr] which Ironhide does Breakedown work with? |
| 11:53 | What they were saying was all Deluxes and Scouts can potentially use each other's weapons in the RotF line. |
| 11:53 | [Comment From General Tekno] Can Frenzy ride the car, to replicate that finger-giving moment from TF1? |
| 11:54 | Yes. He sits in the car, he fits into the front grill, he can pop out of the grill half way, he can sit on the shoulders like the other Human Alliance toys |
| 11:54 | [Comment From toxicon] Might be late, but what do you mean by hidden missiles on Leader Starscream? |
| 11:55 | His arms open up with missile launchers inside of them |
| 11:55 | [Comment From Autobot] How sleek is Starscream's alt mode? |
| 11:56 | Very sleek, the design looks very accurate. Probably going to be the definitive version of the character |
| 11:57 | [Comment From DAK] any new figures going to be put in the showcase? |
| 11:58 | Yes, should be some new stuff going out soon. Stay tuned for pics if anything new comes out |

Hobbes-timus Prime:
Anyone who was there: Did they show the deco for Deluxe Ratchet? Was he movie green or red/white Animated homage or...some third option...? Thanks!
S250:
what the f.....
the panel started late, and designers talked about almost all thing we knew yesterday and Tyrese is wasted rest time??!?!?!?!
this is the worst designer panel .....
Silent_Magnus:
That only lasted for 30-40 minutes!
and half of it was Tyrese!
Oh well, we got some more details on the Animated/movie stuff AND Leader Starscream!
Kando:
But hey.. Leader Starscream! Yeah? Yeah??
Sharktibolt:
Well that was very.....enlightening. deathsheadx:
friggin hillarious!
Chris McFeely:
Yes, yes, we must focus on Leader Starscream... as it's about the only to focus on.

Also, good job Sol_Fury for taking the time to answer people's questions.
Ratchet2007:
What panel's are left ?
Wheeljack_Prime:
Dangit, I was hoping to hear some news about Scrapper/Hightower/Overload
Cory Bauer:
I want to see the human alliance figures, and of course leader Starscream. I would hope they'd at least put Human Alliance Sideswipe and Skids out for display, right?
AniProwl:
How disappointing of a panel.
Hopefully, pics will make me happy.
TriBlurr:
For anyone posting who is there. the feed said Brakedown is compatible with Ironhide's accessories. Any more info on that.
realCliffjumper:
So deluxe Ratchet has an EMP doom-cannon. Niiiiiice. Really cool that they decided to homage Animated in the movie line. CAn't wait to see pictures of Bayverse Lockdown.
Switchblade:
I wonder if the people actually at Botcon are feeling as gypped about being tricked into a Tyrese panel as we are.

Nothing really newsworthy, unless they put out new toys on display.
Abrogate:
My questions dont seem to be showing up on the live updater...

Abrogate:
Ah. I didnt know how it worked
Toxicon:
My question was answered in the feed ^.^
Dinobot Snarl:
Thanks Sol!
kenm2474:
So are we getting a Animated Cybertron Ratchet?
AniProwl:
They really love to shove RoTF stuff in front of our faces with Tyrese and all this focus on the sequel's toyline without saying much about Classics 3.0 and when they will finally get to making Animated Omega and Constructicons.
What a disappointing 25th anniverary BotCon.

What a disappointing 25th anniverary BotCon. | Classics 3.0 is over a year away. It's probably in early concept stages.
WAY too early to show.
realCliffjumper:
Thank you Sol for answering our questions. These live Panel updates were a great idea!
justamaze:
Leader Starscream sounds amazing. Post pics please ASAP
Omega Charge:
MUST HAVE LEADER STARSCREAM. I can't believe we'll have to wait over a year for him.

And I thought Breakdown was a decepticon.
Red Frenzy:
Revealing Leader class Starscream was awesome. Now I have no doubt's about not picking up the new ROTF Screamer mold. I'll pick that up as a repaint and wait for the REAL movie Starscream to come out next year.
Also, Tyrese being at the panel was completely pointless. If Hasbro wanted him to talk about the movie and not the toys why not give him his own panel, don't suck up the time from the designers panel with your horribly plugs about your own comic or whatever.
Not cool man, not cool.
Scourge_151:
Poor voyager Starscream, so good and yet upstaged barely before he's available to buy!
Still a good toy, I will buy that leader at the drop of a hat though.
Here's looking forward to what will be put in the display cases.

What a disappointing 25th anniverary BotCon. | Boy ain't you a spoiled brat? It's either 100% what you want or "hasbro sucks i lost all hope", I still remember when you were crying about season 3 taking too long to show up.
kylash327:
any comparison for height on the leader starscream? does he have the ROTF tattoo deco?

Leader class will have to be the very epitome of awesome.

realCliffjumper:
Tyrese could have been at the movie panel, the comic panel (sort of), and hell, even the VA panel. But this panel had NOTHING to do with him. Great to have him there, I am sure, but seriously, I wanted to hear about TOYS! I thought he was maybe going to show off HA Sideswipe. But no. He did not.
Though, cool to hear them considering him for a Luke Cage movie (or whatever Marvel movie they feel they can sqeeze him into).
Fort Max:
Well that was a bit disappointing, the Hasbro designers panels of previous years were very interesting with all sorts of insights into the selection and design processes etc. This year we get a handful of comments on what was shown yesterday, one new (admittedly awesome) reveal and then twenty minutes of Tyrese...
Lucario Prime:
Man, hopefully Hasbro sends out pictures of the toys. I want to see the Animated ones so badly.

And I thought Breakdown was a decepticon. | It's not really surprising if they have standard peg hole like a large number of transformers.
Unless there is added functionality beyond being able to hold each other's weapons.(Like Ratchet and Lockdown.)

Laser_Optimus:
Wow. Lot's of cool stuff at the panel (though the announcement of Leader SS has me wondering if I should bother picking up Voyager SS now... shame to upstage such an awesome toy so early... you'd think they'd have made a Leader Blackout instead...). However, what the heck is up with Tyrese being there? Seems like Hasbro didn't want to reveal too much about their future projects just yet... which makes sense when Universe 3.0 is more than a year away at best... but to eat up the designer panel time with Tyrese (he's a cool guy and all though) is kind of crappy. Would have been cooler if they had at least done a Q&A if they just didn't have anymore new stuff to show us. Still, as long as everyone at the panel enjoyed themselves... that's what really matters right? Not us poor saps living vicariously through Sol because we couldn't attend. Ktulu:
Tyrese Gibson, Panel Crasher
lulz bumblebot98: i need to see rodimus pics!!!!! Silent_Magnus:
Apparently they're putting the Animated stuff on display now.
kylash327:
Yessssss! Im SOOOO happy Animated still has some life in it, and grateful Hasbro realizes this.
