Botcon 2009 Convention Toys Teaser Information

That's a great point... If I had to guess, I'd say that the mold wasn't actively in use at the time they needed to make these... Maybe Hasbro made them early or something funky like that? Maybe FP got to use the mold first?

Who knows. There aren't any other contradictions to that rule that I can think of, though...

I had a line up for Animated Wreakers
Impactor - Bulkhead (leader works better than voyager as hes less fat, others have suggested Lockdown either with a new head.
Roadbuster - hasbro are providing him
Whirl - ????
Topspin - ????
Twintwist - ????
Rackn ruin - the new Jetstorm/jetfire set
Emirate Xaron - Any of the prime moulds though the ones without a face plate would save a new head.
Straxus - Deluxe animated Megatron with a new head.

I dont think thats what it will be though. Possibly Universe Wreakers. They would fit a Pre-G1 Cybertron gladitorial theme pretty well, after all who are you going to send to infiltrate that sort of thing if not a young Wreakers crew. If the Elita 1 rumour is for real she would sort of fit as part of the Wreakers based on her 07 role. I really hope its not true or if it is its not the horrid boat toy.

Fembots or Gobots, I hope not just not right for a 25th anivarsary set. Though it could be an Autobot set that trave lto the Gobot Universe as that would be new to TF but familiar to most of us.

Personally I think that the Diaclone theme would have been great for the 25th, but if its true that the universe toys arent being used then it would be a waste. Alternatively the Homage to Botcon/fill in the gaps/previoulsy planned but canvelled line up thats just a lot ot do with wanting that RID Defensor though. Pete did say a while back that the mould probably wasnt viable/ available for a club release. I cant remeber the exact phrase, but it would be nice if he had actually meant couldnt be done for a club exclusive because it was tied into a Botcon set.

No way its going to be animated most of the molds are too new probably we're probably looking at another a/e/c and the 07 classics molds is my guess

And by this Botcon all new Universe moulds will have been out for over three months and the line will be over so it seems like the same situation. Petes said that theres no new Univcerse mould fair enough but Im not sure its to do with the line being over or not.

I dont remember reading Petes comment on the use of Universe moulds but does he mean all of them or just the new ones? I mean Sunstreaker and Prowl have been out for 6 months or so and dont sport the 25th logo.

See thats what I'm thinking when he says new universe mold it could just be the NEW molds i.e. Hound cyclonus and that bunch, but I think the prowl and sunstreaker molds are open for use atleast I really hope so, Maybe a true con exclusive remolding the Prowl mold for Jazz LOL(I can dream can't I?)

I hope I can even just go to BotCon this year,let alone get a set of the figures.

As one who's not a fan of the Thunderblast mold, I may have to wait and see before registering for my Iacon package.

Sadly, the "wait-and-see" tactic tends to end with things like last year's "sold out" debacle. Usually better to bite, then fence the set to pay off part of the expenses

Maybe an Autobot themed Classics set? Games of Truth? A new Bumblebee or Hot Rod in the set? Man, the hint is very cryptic.

From an insiders perspective it's very interesting to see all of your assumptions.

Im hoping for diaclone schemes. they could make up a timeline but use diaclone color schemes and that could fit under "yet very familiar"

Okay then, think about this-- Pre-BW Megatron used the Cybertron Defense Red Alert mold at Botcon 2006, even though that mold had been mass-released only about 9 months before that and Cybertron was still going on during that Botcon.

I'm not sure why they're not using any Universe 2.0 figures, but if it's because they aren't allowed to it's a newer rule rather than an older one.

What we'd all like to know is, did anybody get anywhere close with their guesses?

Wreckage is at the very least still based off of an ILM movie design, and therefore licensed.

Landmine's vehicle mode is also "licensed" in the sense that its meant to be an accurate representation of the buggies specifically designed and built for Sector 7 in the movie, so royalties or however it works would still have to be given to Paramount or w/e.

"Autobots" = not Beast Wars.

"Never before featured in G1 in this way" = G1 characters featured G1 universe.

"Timeline is new, yet familiar" = A new G1 universe.

Marlboor Wheeljack (energon downshift)
black ironhide (energon towline)

If going by the loop hole of Ramjet and 07 botcon, then maybe they could use the sunstreaker and prowl mold. There is a large enough gap possibly? then we could get the diaclone police sunstreaker and blue bluestreak maybe.
