We saw Rodimus for the first time yesterday in the Botcon comic preview, sharing facial grooming tips with a disoriented Cliffjumper. Now we get our first look at the toy itself, thanks to an auction on Taobao. Check out the auction here, and discuss below!

Up for auction at Taobao.com is a Botcon Shattered Glass Rodimus!

Loving the black and silver. Red windows are very Stunticon, nice and evil.

Now we just need a look at Megatron and Wheeljack!

Yeah, he and Megatron will be sold as a set. Probably a minicon or two as well.

NOICE! I cannae wait to get this baby. I was interested befoer when we were informed of his release, and now after seeing the comic, and the toy, it's a MUST buy for me this year at the convention.

For me it's my favorite so far. The color scheme is very nice in my opinion. Plus hopefully it will have a new headpiece.

I love Rodimus as a character but I'm really not liking the whole evil Autobots/good Decepticons thing. So I'm torn. I guess I'll have to see what I think of the robot mode and if I have enough cash. I am digging the purple flames on the black, very sleek. I might just have to get him for my Rodimus collection because of his rarity since I'll be at BotCon anyway.

I'm pretty sure he does, since that guy who told us way ahead of time what all the Botcon figures were going to be mentioned that the Rodimus toy was painted black and purple and had a goatee.

He won't. They're already remolding for Goldbug, Jazz/Ricochet, Blurr, and I think Megatron. Remolding Rodimus would be pretty stupid. That facial hair is going to be painted on.

Ooo, NICE. Wasn't expecting them to change the layout of the flame paint apps-- the more curled flames look much more "evil", somehow. LOVE.

Question though. I'll be there on Thursday night and I'm in the second line to pick up the convention set and all. Do you think the attendee purchase figures will be available all night from the club store?

What I mean is, can people looking to scalp buy as many sets as they want, leaving none available for others still in line? Or do they usually have a crap-load of these available all weekend?

I just have no idea how long it will take in either line, so I'm getting there really super early.

Does this make any sense?

IIRC, last year, they only allowed purchase one of each at-the-show-only set per preregistrant on the first go-around. There were plenty, and then FP allowed purchase of extras during the next day or two. Anyone who got there on Thursday had no worries about being able to get the add-on sets they wanted.

I'd anticipate something similar this year, but can't say for sure. Pete?
