Nordic Mini-Con 2010 in Aalborg, Denmark

Posted on 10-07-2009 at 10:12 PM by TM2 D-bot
Conventions
minicon2010logo NTFA member Fighbird has let us know that information about 2010's Nordic Mini-Con has been posted at the NTFA Forums:

The NTFA Staff is pleased to announce Nordic Mini-Con 2010 in Aalborg!

Two years ago we held the first ever Nordic Transformers convention, in Arlöv in Sweden. The convention was a big success - we had presentations, competitions, a customizing class, a popular art contest, an exhibition with some more exotic (from a Nordic perspective) Transformers figures and other sci-fi figures, a sales room, plus the worldwide première of the first episode of Transformers Animated. People came, chatted, mingled, and had fun!

People have asked for it, we have been looking for opportunities to do it, and now it's time for the sequel: Nordic Mini-Con 2010! More of the same, only bigger and better!

The convention will be held in Aalborg in northern Denmark, with NTFA co-founder and staff-member Fighbird as the main organizer. Connections are great - you can get there by air (there's one bus going directly from the airport to the location for the convention), by train, and of course by car. If you live close to Oslo or Gothenburg you can take the ferry over to Hirtshals or Frederikshavn and then the train the rest of the distance to Aalborg. And if you live in southern Sweden, you can go by the Øresund train to Copenhagen and then switch to a train to Aalborg.

It will once again take place over the span of a weekend - the question is, which weekend? We are choosing between five dates in May and June, and now we want your input on which dates would suit you the best! Click on this link to go to the poll (you need to be logged in on the board to vote) and give us your answers! And feel free to give us your arguments for and against a certain date in that topic - we will consider all serious opinions. (The poll will remain open until 24:00 on 14 October).

Are you interested in contributing to Nordic Mini-Con 2010 somehow? Perhaps you want to sell/trade at a dealer table, or arrange a panel, competition or presentation - if so, please contact the NTFA Staff, either via a Personal Message or e-mail to one of the staff members, or via the contact form.

(Information on prices and how to register for the convention will be posted at a later date.)

Auto Assembly Breaks European Convention Attendance Record, New Contest Details

Posted on 08-05-2009 at 05:59 PM by Sol Fury
Conventions
AA2009NewLogo We have received an update from our friends at Auto Assembly 2009, and what an update! At the end of July, Auto Assembly 2009 passed the all-time record for attendance at a European Transformers convention on pre-registrations alone, and with just ten days to go, is edging ever closer to the magic "500" attendance figure! As of today, the total stands at an impressive 461 pre-registered guests!

Several new special events taking place at the convention add to the momentum - foremost among them, Activision has kindly donated 10 copies of Transformers Revenge of the Fallen The Game for PS3, which will be given away to 10 lucky full weekend attendees or pre-registered non-attendees.
In a slight change to the program, Next of Kin who will be performing an hour of Transformers themed material on the Saturday night will now also be putting on a rock concert of a mixture of their own material and other classics. If you cannot attend the full weekend, but still want to attend this concert, then help is at hand - a limited number of Party Passes are going to be available to Saturday attendees during the day on a first come, first served basis.
Saturday will also see the traditional Auto Assembly Charity auction, which is open to all attendees, and non-attendees may also place proxy bids on all items if they wish. Items include a signed photo of Peter Cullen (Generation 1 and Movie series Optimus Prime), an original page of art from IDW's live action movie adaptation by Alex Milne, the Auto Assembly 2009 postcard artwork by Andrew Wildman, a Beast Wars Transmetal Optimus Primal toy signed by Garry Chalk and many more items - a total of 30 items!

If you have not pre-registered yet but want to attend, then there is still time - UK residents can pre-register in the next 5-6 days and still receive their packs well before the convention, while those outside the UK who are around over the weekend and want to attend can opt to pick up their attendee packages at the convention.

Find out more on how to attend and everything else that is going on at Europe's official largest Transformers convention at The Auto Assembly Homepage.
