It's an alternate version of the cartoon continuity. Based on the cartoon, but not actually in-line with what happened in the cartoon

Question on timeline
Hello there fans, question/clarification:
The "Coming Storm" is set in the WoH storyline but is the WoH storyline the past of the comic (Marvel) or cartoon (US)? I remember in last years Botcon comic an aged Kup telling his story to the Dinobots fending off Scourge & the Sweeps. Nonetheless it seems interesting, but i was wondering if it's connected to something given the fact that all these UK, G2, and Japanese characters are popping up as well.

What does meeting English people have to do with anything? It's tongue-in-cheek humor. That memorable way of speaking immediately gives him character in a comic that obviously is going to be Transformer-heavy but characterization-light, given you get 6 or so pages of it every 2 months.
ORIO
I didn't even snap that the repaint of Energon Bulkhead was the action master Overrun. I mean, I got the name, but now seeing it in action…. thats awesome
Draven
It's so hard to tell these days. Bloody Team Fortress 2 rubbish.
Chris McFeely
Man, I thought it was supposed to be Australian.
Draven
"Them blighty little bugghahs don't stand a chance against me exploseeves."
…Really?
Oh GOD, guys. You've met English people. you know English people. WTF?
G.B. Blackrock
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I can prove your theory wrong. I can't.
I'm just saying, I really don't think that's what they're doing.
Personally, I'm pretty happy to always chalk things up to multiversal coincidences rather than force separate stories together into any particular continuity unless we're explicitly told, "This is that continuity."

Huh… I was trying to figure out if they were based on new molds. Ironfist's arms and shins reminded me of Cybertron Clocker, but his torso, obviously not. And Metalhawk looked like he could've been a Universe Cyclonus, but I knew that wouldn't be the case when you guys just did SG Cyclonus. If you say they're both their G1 selves, I'll take your word for it.
But… I still want an Overrun/Ironfist 2-pack… and in that case, Ironfist -could- be a Hound remold
Thundershot
Not really retconned, per se, but using the same toy to represent characters from more than one universe. Airazor got the same treatment (beast wars and transtech), as well as the Seacons (classics, shattered, and energon if you go by the original intention).
Mechafire
Looks interesting enough.
WhiteMocha
Not to mention there is the Deathsaurus/Leozack connection.
Wouldn't be the first time the Club retconned the origin of its own toys…. look at how Astrotrain got ambiguously re-branded as SG Astrotrain.
Hiro Prime
Actually, it's not that bad of an idea that WoH and DiE could be the same universe as one takes place in the past and the other, the future. Didn't Deathsaurus say that he rebuilt the Insecticons from the DNA or some such thing from the past?
Hiro Prime
It's funny that you mention G1.5. I've used that term myself, but with all of the G1 E-Hobby Exclusives like Deep Cover and Sunstorm instead of the Euro G1 bots.
[Wing_Saber-X]
Yay for Metalhawk and Thunderclash
Any possibility we'll be getting an exclusive collector's club Metalhawk Pretender?!
Maybe you guys can bring in the Japanese Resin Kit from those Hobby shows and sell them as one…
G.B. Blackrock
I'm putting money on "multiverse coincidence."
B-Fox
Are those Virulent Clones they're blastin'? Interesting…
Mayhaps Wings of Honor is in the same alternate G1 timeline as Descent into Evil? Or it's just a multiverse coincidence? Either way, all this attention on WoH in the club fiction makes me believe the 2010 BotCon set will be another instalment of that… though I still have hopes that the teased "Lost Generation" is referring to Robots in Disguise and we'll get Universe Ironhide, Universe Sideswipe done up as Red Alert, and Cybertron Crosswise as new versions of X-Brawn, Prowl, and Side Burn, respectively.
Oh, and Ironfist is love. His depiction here makes me wish he had a new toy I could buy.
Boardwise
Convenient!
My membership just ran out.
process
It's been done at least once, and very convincingly, so definitely viable.
Bogatan
I think I've heard people suggest Ironfist as a Hound repaint a while back, so while not intended it would certainly be a viable option either as a club exclusive or custom.
