Chris Sims of Comics Alliance recently had an interview with IDW Publishing’s comic series Transformers vs. GI Joe writer and artist Tom Scioli. In the interview Tom talks about the creative process, the large casts of characters, building a fictional universe, and many more interesting things. He also reveals that he has written a comic adaption of the Transformers vs. GI Joe movie… which, of course, is a movie that doesn’t actually exist! You’ll have to read the interview to find out more!
Update: And not much later, part two of the interview has just been posted!

I HATED the first FCBD preview of this book, but this has grown to be one of my favorite books to read when it comes out.
It's not for everybody, no doubt, but I love it.
It's huge goofy fun. Key word: FUN.
Great creator notes at the end of each issue as well.

About F-N time Hasbro finally let the two universes join. Only the existence of transformers and their disruption does gijoe and cobra make any sense. Also well care more about the human characters because we know them. I took gijoe almost dying for them to change their minds about this. It took Marvel showing them the way. But we and the fandom can finally say we told you so.

Could you be any more of a jerk to you're fellow fans because they like some you don't?

You realize it's just doing a zoom-in on him in Fortress Maximus's head? For multiple scenes? You can see him crawling up Maximus's nose, too, or do you think there are literally three Tunnel Rats?
jackgaughan
Get off your high horse man, this is a comic that relishes in silliness.
dragon
Wow that cover with tunnel rat inside Maximus head is completely out of scale tunnel rat stand up they be same size
HARD RAINBOW
Scioli comes off as someone who really cares about the experience the reader is having. It shows, this comic is the best thing happening with both franchises right now.
Man, I didn't now about the FCBD thing, I was wondering when Billy would show up. I can't control my boners for the next issue!
Autovolt 127
You do know this is a IDW comic right?
Yeah in many ways it was. All that was missing was a hooded terrorist leader and bobs your uncle.
Newholl
Morons are still buying this? Never mind. They wouldn't be morons had they stopped.
DarkWarGrimlock
It was in the FCBD book for the new RiD cartoon tie-in comic.
Fast_Draw
Was the Free Comic Book Day thing available physically? Or just posted online?

Part two of the interview.
Tom Scioli On 'Transformers vs. GI Joe,' Part Two
WishfulThinking
Wasn't the 2007 movie BASICALLY a G.I.Joe/Transformers movie? In a lot of ways, I liked those guys better than most of the cast of either Joe movie.
YoungPrime
Two franchises that Paramount can't seem to get right, put together in a crossover = PASS!
Autovolt 127
An adaptation of the TF vs Joe movie that doesn't exist……that's an interesting way to describe it.
I hope it's at least half way decent so we can get a good Transformers Vs GI Joe movie.

Tom Scioli On 'Transformers vs. GI Joe,' Part One
So there's an annual-type special in the works that's an adaptation of the TFvsJoe movie… which doesn't exist. That is insane and awesome.
