Transformers Spotlight Trailcutter iTunes Preview

Ooh, that art is very nice indeed. The expressive faces are especially nice, and he manages it without them getting weird/human-looking ('Bee smiling on the last page of his Spotlight is creepy as hell). Manages to feel way more MTMTE-y, to coin a ridiculous adjective, than the Annual did, even without the usual colour palette.

Yeah this is so by far the best looking Spotlight we got out of the new bunch.

I wish the annual looked at least half as good as this!

Between his work for the Mars Attack crossover and this I feel Frank is kicking it out of the park with every new issue!

And I'm glad that Trailbreker got such a good treatment for his Spotlight because chanses are his toy will be the single most soughted out toy of the new Generation line (since everyone was CRYING fot a classic Trailbreaker for years now) so his spotligh will probably be read by the biggest ammount of people.

Looks nice! Let's hope the story's good, too.

I'm hoping for a nice bit of fun here and nothing more. With the possible exception of the Megatron Spotlight, these comics have been constrained by the fact they were written to be packaged with toys. So the drunken antics of the Trailbreakercutter of the Lost Light might not be palatable to the target audience, alas.

Guess Amazon is my best bet for getting just this issue.

It is. Someone who is suppose to be dead in MTMTE is alive there.

We don't know when exactly this Spotlight is set, so which characters are alive is irrelevant.

I think this is the "past". I think they are repairing the hole that all O them Autobots flew out of at the beginning of MTMTE.

Well, seeing as Fort Max seems to be free onboard the ship, I suppose it could be between issues #5 and #6.

I have an iPad, so I'll transcribe it when I get home. Suffice to say, it's pretty good.

Bah*, can't see the images. Oh well. Can't wait for this issue.

No pics show up for me when I look at the book on my iPad unfortunately..I did try to find out some of the text through filtering in Photoshop, but gave up halfway through.

All you need to know: they're fixing a breach in the ship, caused by a hit on the Lost Light some hours before. Trailbreaker comments on Brainstorm and Chromedome's efforts: 'no wonder everyone calls you the Genius Twins', to which Chromedome replies: 'nobody calls us the Genius Twins'

Later on they get rewarded a medal - the Rodimus Star, except for Trailbreaker, but he has to be there because 'reputation dictates', I think...

Man, that is some great art.

oh sweet mercy, finally a spotlight that doesn't have poor art.

Not being able to read the dialogue and thus not getting the context, only one thing came to mind when I saw the last panel of the first page.

I came here for this. Was not disappointed. *trying not to laugh out loud at work*

Oh yes, I'll certainly pick this up. I skipped the Bumblebee issue, but this looks awesome. Anything that allows us to spend more time on the Lost Light is okay by me

The story will end with Trailcutter getting recognised for his abilities and he cheers up a little.

Ah, from what's visible of the Story So Far paragraph, this issue evidently does take place between issues 5 and 6. It'd be neat if this directly lead into the bar scene at the start of #6...

I love how the names of the old Autobot Headmasters when from "cute" to "yikes" under Roberts' pen.

Also GOOD GOD Rodimus, it's long past time for some humble pie. Considering the stuff he's been through in IDW so far I'm actually not sure why he's such a creep. Still, the smirking medal is genius.

As is Matt Frank and his apparent love for drawing Sunstreaker and Bob!
