The official Transformers Facebook page has uploaded a creator commentary for Transformers Prime Rage of the Dinobots issue 1 by IDW. The miniseries is intended to link up the story of Transformers Fall of Cybertron with that of Transformers Prime. There's some interesting stuff in this commentary, which features the thoughts of writers Mike Johnson and Mairghread Scott - click here to check it out.

I liked the notes on Grimlock's speech/anger ratio and why Snarl doesn't like his Dino Mode.

Still wish we'd get a Deluxe of him after Grim: his design is damn near perfect to his G1 design.

I wish they would have explained the whole situation with Sludge or at least say something like, "it will be revealed."

Kinda wished they'd stop trying to link TF: Prime with WFC/FoC. Why can't they just be separate continuities following the "Aligned" stuff somewhat loosely? If High Moon followed it like a bible... there wouldn't even be Dinobots, as Hasbro considered them impossible to fit.

Agreed. It's making my brain hurt, the fandom's butts hurt and the tf wiki pages too damn long.

Yeah, I wish they'd stuck to their guns about the original intent of the Aligned Continuity Family, I.E. like the G1 Continuity Family; What they're doing now is just as stupid as trying to merge Dreamwave, IDW, Marvel and Sunbow's continuities into one massive clustersludge.

On that note, I see that there's no mention of this being a bridge between the game and the series. Combined with the complete lack of that happening in a coherent way in the comic, I'm prepared to write that little selling point off as a screwup by marketing. That's me being generous, BTW- I'm more inclined to think that it was an outright lie.
Don't get me wrong, I actually like the comic much, much more now I know that little fact.

Also, their approach to writing Grimlock? Theoretically interesting, but in practice... A failure. Grimlock wouldn't mince words, so neither will I.

Yeah. Dreamwave, IDW, Marvel and Sunbow are all Generation One, its just not the same Generation One as each other. There's no crossover between any of them. Just homages big and small but still unconnected in terms of timeline.
