Comic Book Resources has put up a five page preview of IDW's More than Meets the Eye Issue 6, due out on newstands this Wednesday. In this take titled "Interiors" the Autobots get back on their journey after Delphi. Fortress Maximus tries to tackle some unpleasant memories involving Overlord from Last Stand of the Wreckers (tying up a loose end from the acclaimed miniseries), a light-hearted few moments involving Tailgate, and a drunk Trailbreaker! And that's just in the five page preview! Check it out, and on Wednesday be sure to get the full issue from your local comic shop!

Huh. Only had pages 1-3 or 1-4 load and its already amazing.

Why aren't these guys doing a Transformers show?

Aaaand just finished it. Good god, THIS is Transformers done right. Anyone else humored by Tailgate, Magnus, Chromedome and the others?

Fort Max kills Trailbreaker, calling it now.

God I Love This Series.

The art...it's... it's... BEAUTIFUL!

*faints*

Also holy shit this is good stuff. Trailbreaker actually has a personality! And Skids is officially the best dude there. Also he seems to have gotten over the gun thing. He's quite blatantly drawn without it.

Hope Magnus goes easy on Swerve.

Five pages. FIVE. PAGES and it already feels like I read half an issue. Dear God I love this book.

i want to run away with this comic and do bad things that feel very good to it.

...what was Aequitas built to hide?

Hmmmmmmm

That bar scene killed me, from their drunken transformation game to Cyclonus being Cyclonus to Magnus being Magnus and Trailbreaker finally having some sort of personality!

I need to book inside me. I need to devour it. Ingest it. Gain it's power.

You know, this addresses one of the few problems I had with LSOTW: the fact that Overlord REALLY didn't seem like the type to be interested in exposing Autobot court records. Nice to see there was more to it than that.

Why would he do that? I can't see the preview at work.

Trailbreaker got a little tipsy and has gone from happy-drunk to angry-smack-talkin'-drunk. I think Trailbreaker just resents popular people because everyone thinks of him as a "one-trick pony."
Sully
Great preview, looks like it'll be another great comic. Good use of character, story and history in making this a very interesting atory.
Lbsammills51
How funny, someone had to draw a picture of Optimus for Tailgate. It'd be funny/sad if whoever it was trolled him and drew, say, Laserbeak.

That's true, I'll be very curious to see how this pays off.

Swerve would totally do that.

I think more happened in that 4 page preview than happens in most comics now a days.
Culture, character, plot advancement... its all there. In only the first four pages!!!

My only gripe.... Trialbreaker should be more portly. I had a hard time recognizing him and he needs an energon gut. I thought he was Scamper!

Oh ok thanks! Sounds like a family get to getter lol.

I used to think that 5 page previews gave away too much of a comic, needless spoiling for issues.

I still do. 5 pages is too much. But James Roberts gets the free pass, I am comfortable with his comics getting that preview treatment because I know that a lot more will happen in the remaining pages too.
Torque
god i love this. Chromedome is awesome, telling who is transforming by sound alone. Trailbreaker with a personality (even if he is drunk) and Tailgate. Tailgate reminds me of that episode of How I Met Your Mother, i think it was Katy Perry's guest appearance. he just makes you wanna go "Oh, honey" little guy is just pitiful.

Just hit me, Trailbreaker is totally jealous of Fort Max. Fort Max has guns in his legs, takes out Decepticons with his chest cavity, and is an overall one man wrecking machine. Trailbreaker makes forcefields. and gets drunk. Fantastic!

Poor Swerve...

I know, I want to slap any issue of this series down in front of every comic writer at Marvel/DC and scream: "Why is this so hard for you?!"

I LOVE seeing some character development go to such under-developed and under-appreciated characters! Skids, Trailbreaker, minibots... LOVE IT!!

This looks great, I keep waiting for the TPB, but love these sneak peeks!

sarnian1979
This is gonna be awwwwwwwwesome!!!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, there's more story, characterisation, and downright fun in these five pages than in the whole of the Costa On-Going!

Looks like Skids has put his gun down, wonder if that's just because he's a bit sloshed? What was under Aquitas? What's a 'Relinquishment Clinic'?

Roche's art is superb here as well, absolutely beautifully drawn.

Best comic on the stands right now, hands down. Absolute bliss to be a TF fan with this comic right now. How the hell did we put up with Costa for so long?

Note to IDW: Never let these guys go. Ever.

i swear, I just absolutely love everything about this comic. there is no drawback whatsoever. The bar... just fantastic. and Drunk Trailbreaker is hilarious, and he's totally jealous of Fort Max-one-trick pony vs FORTRESS MAXIMUS

Yes, definitely. I really hope James Roberts (plus Nick Roche, Alex Milne, and John Barber too) are willing to stay for the long haul. I'll be sad if they ever get bored or tired of Transformers.

i dig Hound's new altmode.

i feel sorry for anyone who is a tf fan and NOT reading these comics.

has anyone tried showing these to friends who read comics but not specifically TF geeks - wondering how they read to someone not terrible familiar with the franchise...?

what funny & Sad is you are completly correct. what also pleases me, is there was a thread back when Costas run ended....ugly thread, but it was stated that none of us would ever be happy, that no matter how good this run seemed, within 1 year we would be "missing" Costa and pine for those "Better stories from before" and so on and so forth through each writer...

Does anyone ever see the day we miss Costa over THIS?! I thought not.
Wheeljack_Prime
Roberts is now officially my favorite Transformers writer ever on the basis that he even uses Trailbreaker at all.
shroobmaster
To be fair to Costa, I don't think anybody that ever worked in this franchise before would be missed really.

I mean it's still hilarious that this is happening right after he left while rambling like a little angry kid but I honestly like James better than everybody that worked writing for this franchise before so it's not Costa getting owned by a new guy as much as it is "The best TF fiction we ever got owning EVERYBODY from before".

THIS.

Anyway, I will have to be patient with regards to this issue. I have to go get married and then go on a cruise. Hoping it will be worth it.

Even Furman's best stuff seems simplistic and dated now compared to this series. I'm still looking forward to ReGeneration One though.
grindcore138
Hellz yeah! For a while I thought it would be Skids but I think it's safe to say it's Fort Max who loses his shit.
That whole bar scene is brilliant, drunk Autobots, drinking games, the dialogue, and I can see Trailbreaker at least getting his face smashed in. Can't blame him for being jealous of Fort Max though, who wouldn't want guns in their legs?
Oh god, Magnus, please don't hurt Swerve!
Looking forward to seeing how it ties in with LSoTW aswell.

Hurry up Wednesday!

(had to)

In regards to this issue, I just get so excited over this book! I seriously wish it wasn't a comic book but an actual show or something because it's so amazing. I seriously wish in the MTMTE paperbacks we get neat stuff like bios (like in LSOTW) or even a map of the ship.

also, Overlord's 'interrogation' room is pretty detailed. look in the BG with Fort Max on the table, It says "help me". D:
Tiller
This is actually getting pretty damn good. So much stuff jam packed into the pages.

Probably going to have to pick up the series now. I've been avoiding it, but this is pretty engaging.

Anywhere I can pick this up digitally online?

Yep. Comixology, they have an app on iPhone, Kindle and Android, or go to Digital Comics - Comics by comiXology
Oberoniss
I really, really hope they release this series in a big paperback book, otherwise I'm going to be kicking myself for waiting for that instead of buying them online. :<

I need the rest of this book now. So much going on, but what really interests me is what was Overlord looking for and what's a Relinquishment Clinic?

Maybe an early transformation of Metroplex perhaps (or Kup on an extremely bad day)?

Well, there was that whole thing about his pathological need for Megatron's respect, and how his atrocities at Garrus were supposed to somehow force Megs to show up in person to deal with him.... but yeah, his psychological baggage aside, I figured there must be more to the whole thing.

Incidentally, I'm sort of surprised we don't see Stalker in the torture sequence, since he seemed to be the guy for that kind of thing.

Trailbreaker is a good-time-charlie to cover for his massive inferiority complex, brought on partially by the fact that he's extremely fuel consumptive. Maybe Roberts has decided to interpret that as a drinking problem?

That line actually cracked me up. I had to laugh out loud.

Fortunately, I think Roberts and Roche at the very least are hardcore Transformers nerds, so we may be safe on that count.

I'm actually amazed that we were stuck with Costa for a full 2 years. I was dissing his work pretty hard. I almost dropped the series so many times, but kept holding out hope that he might leave or improve or something.

This is good stuff... proof that fans are not all just whiny babies who will bitch about everything (as Costa implied). Good, solid, informed character writing gets noticed sometimes.

oh man that was great, I hope we get more scenes in the bar between missions. I am also glad we got to see more of trailbreaker and pipes, its great that we have like 15 characters and we get to know them so well in just 5 issues while in other series it takes much longer with a smaller cast. I am just in love with roberts work and I cant wait to see where this goes.
