Dramatic Spoon
"Advocate" Xaaron?
Zylly103
Good point. I'd been so focused on the time travel part I'd forgotten all the other stuff he did/kind of did.
Though I don't think you can hold someone responsible for something their alternate self did.
WilyMech
LLost Light will be with out a medic because First Aid is with Mirage and the Proctectobots.
Autovolt 127
Yeah that's a good point actually.
While I don't hate Riptide, I still don't understand why he exists. It's weird that they actually have not done anything with him?
Same.
Napalm
Ten developing sentience, as Nocturne suggested, could be genuinely tragic given the Legislator's origins.
Can I just say how impressed I am with Cahill's work in these preview pages. Really striking stuff, full of character and toning back the thickness of his lines adds a crispness that his previous work (though still good) has lacked. Just top notch stuff.
Kraken
And Skyfall wasn't the head of Kimia, far from it.
General Tekno
Funny you mention Skyfall – I don't recall us ever getting confirmation that it was HIM who leaked Gideon's Glue to the 'cons.
He was quick to blame Ironfist for the whole kerfuffle, sure, but that doesn't mean he's the 'bot that actually leaked it. It just makes him opportunistic.
Kraken
Yep, something got a little bit mixed up in the release schedules, this should have come out before RID.
ultramagnus1
Both Mirage and Ratchet will leave I feel……
Ratchet to look for Drift and Mirage to Cybertron/Caminus
Spartan0996
I think this just takes place before he left.
Insane Galvatron
Anyone else bothered by the fact Mirage is no longer on the ship, but they're talking about him as if he is?
WilyMech
Likewise.
Murasame
I would never boycott MTMTE.
Faizan
There was a boycott….?
I think the primary reason why Chromedome is sitting next to Brainstorm is so that he can corroborate his testimony via injection. Something similar which was offered to Megatron by Optimus prior to his trial.
Digilaut
Brendan Cahill for president!
I mean…co-president, right beside Milne, Roche, Coller, etc. etc.
ultramagnus1
Am looking forward to this as always.
Love the art too.
BB Shockwave
Interesting what Ratchet says about Ravage, and the Legislator rights – one does have to wonder where you pull the line for sentience in a robotic race. I thought that it was "has a spark=sentient", before, but apparently even Turbofoxes have rudimentary sparks, so…
I think the trial will be more about him being a Con sleeper agent. Which I still find weird and unlikely. He developed horrible weapons of mass destructions TO BE USED against the Decepticons. Heck, it was Skyfall who sold some of these to the Cons, and arranged for Ironfist's accident – why would the Cons bother with that if the head of Kimia was their inside man?
Huh. Never knew that. never even heard of the artist before. His stuff is pretty close to Milne's, so I liked it.
Well, most Japanese artists dabble in porn, really. Don't think we have to worry about anything that'd make IDW ashamed, considering he is drawing giant robots and currently there are no humans in MTMTE.
Sorry for restarting something you discussed before, but I don't post here often, and this never ever came up on the Allspark when discussing #39 so it was news to me.
Mort
It may well be that's not what this is about. Brainstorm's been revealed as a double agent and proved capable of calling the DJD on the Lost Light to serve his own goals, so this can't go unanswered. He got the entire LL2 crew killed. Even though this Brainstorm hasn't actually committed the particular crime, the point remains, he's dangerous and there's going to me more to the Decepticon affiliation. However potentially noble or selfless his motivations (and they were very selfish to begin with), you can't just ignore something of that magnitude.
As for Brainstorm vs Rewind mentioned elsewhere in the thread, Rewind made a snap decision whilst under tremendous pressure and having survived a horrendous experience. It would be unsuitable to try him, in my opinion. By comparison, Brainstorm planned this methodically for centuries, even though he couldn't actually go through with it in the end. And though yes, we know now that it was all how it was meant to be, Brainstorm didn't. Intention to commit a crime and acting on that intention is a crime in itself regardless of outcome.
Grimwing
Exactly.
So the reason the alternate timeline with the functionists happened is because the basic nominus prime matrix constructed cold spark that would have made megatron was either subjegated or extinquished successfully by the functionists. (rewind not killing that spark, and whirl not replaceing it with the spark brainstorm saved from luna 1)
I think that even in that timeline where the crew does not follow Brainstorm back. He still won't pull the trigger. Since its a personal hangup with killing. They have to follow him to even create the correct timeline.
So is brainstorm being judged on his Actions, or his intentions.
Because if its by actions I think the only thing he's guilty of is making almost everyone on the ship sick with tampered engex and conspiracy as a decepticon.
I guess Xaarron will figure out the ethics.
Putting obscure characters like Xaaron into crowd shots is enough of a reason if I want to be meta. Otherwise the lost light quest for the knights had the convenient benefit of giving Autobot Veterans a place to go post war. Since they were not really wanted on cybertron. With the Nails seeing them as much of a millitant force as the cons.
I mean rodimus did give a open invitation with his speech.
