Along with IDW’s Transformers comic previews this week we had a look at the retailer incentive covers to Transformers #38 and More than Meets the Eye #38. The pair of covers feature Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively, and are done in a simple yet striking style (we’re thinking of some of the Acid Free prints by Tom Whalen for a similar style).
Check them out, and also be sure to check out the previews for this week’s comics – it’s a double bill of More than Meets the Eye and the title formerly known as Robots in Disguise!
Bumblebee2000
Other than Megatron's head, they're cool.
It's nice seeing variation in the RIs now, such as Kotteri last month.
Autovolt 127
These are some neat pieces of art.
Bendimus Prime
I work with the artist, Jeffrey Veregge's wife, and have met him several times at Emerald City Comicon. Comic/geek culture in Native American-style is his signature. He's got some cool stuff on his website:Jeffrey Veregge Art, Design and Mischief
Solarius
I recognize this style. They're meant to resemble the tribal paintings and carvings of certain native American tribes, which I always thought looked like robots anyway.
Murasame
Why does Megatron have Animated Blitzwing's head?
Sol Fury
Don't believe we saw these on the solicits, looked cool so gave them a separate highlight so they don't get lose with the previews.
