Courtesy of Newsarama, we now have the full preview for Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #29, the second part of MTMTE season 2’s opening story arc:
TRANSFORMERS MORE THAN MEETS EYE #29
STAND-OFF! While the crew of the Lost Light react to MEGATRON’s arrival with characteristic maturity (calling him names behind his back and ignoring him when he speaks) one AUTOBOT is convinced that a more direct approach is needed. Guess what happens when a one-time tyrant is told he’s not wanted? Yeah, exactly.
Check the preview out after the jump, but beware of spoilers! The full issue will be out this Wednesday, May 14.
Update: Colorist Josh Burcham has posted the clean version of Nick Roche’s subscription cover for the issue on his Twitter. Check it out!

Oh yeah, I figure he might come back to that eventually. I'd be really disappointed if he never did, which is the reason for raising the issue in the first place. Still… don't wait too long… especially when it's obvious that there are still big questions to be asked. It seems like the Red Alert thing was swept into a corner so quickly, I do worry a bit that it was just a plot point that was abandoned.
I was a bit dissatisfied with the way that "season 1" rounded up… I felt like a lot of things were truncated or rushed. It takes away from the experience all along when it doesn't come to a good end.

Thing is Roberts does tend to introduce plot-points, characters and elements only for them to come into play much later.
And in season 1 there was A LOT of time dedicated to mnemosurgery, shadowplay and overall mind-fuckery. I think that he's simply giving that story-line a break.
SMOG
No, no, no… I read that story, so I know he's up and about.
My point is that the underlying conspiracy that was established through his paranoid delusions, and his sessions with Rung… and the fact that it was revealed (in fact, literally POINTED TO) that Red Alert has been shadowplayed… which all must be taken into consideration when we look at him doing something as drastic as ripping his own head off…
… there were so many little hints in the air… nods to something else going on, beyond his paranoia (or that his paranoia was actually warranted)… and then all of that just DROPPED, and we never looked back at it.
That's what I mean about his story not being finished….

at the end of issue #21 in the "sound of breaking glass" story on the letters page red alert is revived and stays on luna 1 with fort max and the circle of light. so for now at least his story is over.
SMOG
Yeah, there are still a lot of questions from back then. There were a lot of hints dropped, that so far haven't really come home to roost. Red Alert's story doesn't seem to be over at all… why spend all that time establishing his paranoia if he just commits temporary suicide and it's never spoken of again?

I have to wonder about the circumstances under which that allergy might have been discovered, that is, was Rewind deliberately or accidentally exposed to UV light? Or is that something that might have been established from looking at his CNA?
I might even wonder about how much of this is true. At worst, the condition might not a) exist at all or b) apply to Rewind. Like Ratchet remaining quiet about the identity of Ultra Magnus, First Aid too may have a good poker face when it comes to medical discretion. As such, he may not have taken Chromedome to task on that point, though he did interject when the latter was fretfully listing Rewind's medical history.
The idea of the UV allergy being a like is a sensational one, though it has an obvious motive in preventing anyone from seeing if Rewind has undergone mnemnosurgery. If this is the case at all, perhaps the most dramatic possibility is that Chromedome performed the surgery and then created the lie about it. However the risk there is that First Aid would ask Rewind about the allergy while he was recuperating.
The other way for for the allergy to be a cover story for mnemnosurgery is that someone, perhaps from far into Rewind's past and/or with some medical authority, read Rewind's memory and then convinced him that he had an allergic reaction to UV light. From that of course, Rewind would unwittingly perpetuate a cover story that keeps anyone from discovering that he – a veritable walking memory stick – has had his memories read.
Of course there may be no lie or conspiracy at all, but the mechanism is still effective.
It was also interesting to see, upon re-reading Shadowplay some time ago, that someone with a cameo in that story had undergone the memory reading procedure.

And in issue 12 Chromedome tells First Aid that Rewind is allergic to UV light.

I wouldn't mind seeing Powerflash getting some character development (perhaps further down the line since there's a perfectly satisfying amount of story threads blossoming so far) since he and Shockwave were the only Action Masters I owned. So perhaps for now it will be enough if he just lives and shows up now and then.
Having said that, I've owned Deftwing since childhood too, and he seems to have become Legislator fodder. haha

Look at who's crossbow Whirl was holding in 28. Then have a look at what's sticking out the Legislator in that preview

In my mind I always considered Whirl, Atomizer and Powerflash to be some kind of badass warrior crew or something on the Lost Light. I have no idea why, maybe cuz they were standing near each other on the Leading Light and chanting about killing cons, maybe because they're the three primary colors, I dunno, but because of that it wouldn't surprise if Atomizer is involved with whatever Whirl is in issue 28 and that Whirl is somehow involved with Atomizer here in issue 29.
Also maybe Rodimus is in the coffin…

Whirl, you idiot! What are you doing?
Rung
loved it, love atomizer, he was my least favorite of the lost light crew, now he's awesome, i kinda think he's one of those sleazy bastards.
loved rodimus' scene, and i think when atomizer tells him to ask him one more time, rodimus actually doubts and takes the list back…
(what if rodimus is actually dead? or something happened to him during the 6 months that he can't be on the lost light?)
(him going after drift could be a good point, it would make stand alone series within the MTME like the whole optimus and crew back in RID)
the colors, i really miss josh's colors. i have to adjust myself to the new colors, but GOD, PLEASE NO GLOWY EYES! Why do people always want light burst out of the robot's eyes?
atleast josh didn't have that (my only complain)
the previous vos must've been a strange looking bot indeed.
why is magnus standing dull next to megatron? isn't he supposed to be the defense attorney? here's to hope magnus trying hard to defend megatron and we see prowl's reaction…
-prowl: "MEGATRON… I WANT THE TRUTH!"
-megatron: "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!'
ah… yes that would be hilarious.
SMOG
Yeah, you're an issue behind (or maybe waiting for the trade?). Let's say Roberts didn't waste any time getting to that interesting little story!
I like how that encounter went down… and how it simultaneously reaffirms Whirl's level of badassery, while also taking him down a notch.
zmog
Rung
yup, like Mr.Glum in Savage dragon. i'd buy that for a dollar.

I don't trust Atomizer.
If Rodimus legit left the Lost Light because of him, I will never forgive him.

Answers own question….
It's in Issue 8: Chromedome explains to Skids that the scars won't show up unless they're under ultraviolet light.

Surely the previous issue made that abundantly clear.
