Whine about this book all you like but all I can say is that I want a Generation's Voyager class Scorpinok (headmaster optional) and some deluxe Sharkticons yesterday!

Besides, if not anything else, Rodimus' continual use of "'Till all are One" is lampshading the ridiculous amounts of times that movie is quoted.
Yggdrasil
Except for the fact that "Till all are one" was meaningfuly incorporated into the IDW universe as a sort of a religious/phylosophical saying.
There is a difference between quoting something in a meaningful way or as a sort of a in-joke for the fan and just taking WHOLE GOD DAMN SCENES from the movie and re-anacting them with the exact same dialogue with maybe one character switched.
And it's not just this one time both Autocracy and Monstrosity INSIST on re-using scenes from the '86 movie frame by frame and it's getting annoying.
Between Prime and the WFC/FOC games it's not even fun anymore. There's more to G1 than the bloody movie but everybody keep referencing that because it's the single most easiest and cheapest thing to do.
You don't see Batman going "I'M THE GOD DAMN BATMAN!!!!" in every adaptation/new comic because that's his most popular line ever.

Bloody hell. Enough with the TFTM references. They're not fun, they're not clever, and all they do is distract from the story. Maybe a solitary reference will get a chuckle out of me, especially if you do something clever with it (like Whirl trying to recreate the "you who are without mercy" scene in MTMTE), but when it's happening multiple times a series, and all you're doing is putting the guys from the movie in situations like in the movie and having them say the lines from the movie, it just gets tiresome.
The intended reaction is no doubt "Oh, they're doing a TFTM scene, heh!". Mine is "Oh. They're doing a TFTM scene. Again. Hmph."

I think Ramondelli should stick to cover and prints. A story needs to be more than a series of static images and miniature splash pages put on page to be called panel work. It's practically impossible to get any sense of movement or pacing from his work.
Anguirus
Good ones do, and Barber seems to take a particular interest.

THIS.

How I wish I could embargo '86 movie quotes…
Not to mention "here's a hint" is a full short scene. Repeating entire scenarios full cloth gets especially annoying.
And do editors really care about continuity?

Theory: Mortilus is…
(Wait for it)
THE FALLEN!!!!
1) He is described as "The Deathbringer", literally the reason Transformers died and his destruction the cause of their apparent inability to die of age (Although Tailgate's impending demise may either dispel this…or prove that the rumors of Mortilus' death were premature). This is very similar to his role as the overseer of entropy in The War Within.
2) He makes war with Primus and causes the end of the Golden Age. This parallels the other instances of The Fallen betraying or going to war with the rest of The Thirteen.
"Okay. Then why is he called 'Mortilus'?"
Since we don't know how much time there is between the end of The Golden Age and Cyclonus' time, it's possible that his name became partially forgotten or lost to time and was replaced with the mythologized name of "Mortilus".
Am I saying this is definite? Nope. But it's a theory.
Disclaimer: I haven't read any of Monstrosity yet, (I'm expecting the first TPB to hit my local comic store soon). The following is merely speculation based off what we can glean from the brief mentions of him we've seen. I am positing my theory in light of the apparent acknowledgement of Mortilus' existence in this series. Thank you.

^ Calling it "the same tired quote" would imply that it's been used (and overused) for the last 27 years. I don't recall that being the case.
"Til all are one" would qualify. As would "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost" and "One shall stand, one shall fall." Just recently, those have been quoted in both the live-action films and TF: Prime.
Personally, I don't mind. I'm positive that the writers aren't resorting to those phrases because they "can't come up with ideas of their own". Rather it's meant to be a mod & wink to the fans that grew up with the original toon/movie/comics, or those that have recently discovered them.

Nice try, but this is a very different situation. There is a difference between a line, out of context from its original quote and that has been used as a pseudo-religious prophetic statement throughout the franchise, being an in-character catchphrase for a glory hound Rodimus and copping the same tired quote that really only worked once. It's not clever, it's not funny, it's just needlessly copying the exact same scene. It's not doing anything new, since it's an entire scene copied word for word.
You really can't compare these two instances.
Anguirus
Well put!
DrawerDemon
"Here's a hint!" shouldn't reappear, but "Til all are One!" can be a plot device over in MTMTE?
This is why I have trouble explaining what people hate about TF Fans.
If anybody's gonna quote TFTM, at least it's Dille, and he's canonizing all those "TF Tropes" into the IDW Continuity.
A lotta haters have keen interest in this book, apparently.
Yggdrasil
Honestly I think that Barber has started to lose his shit when he made the jump to the main continuity.
He did a damn fine job with the movie comics but his work for the G1 has so fan been lackluster and needlesy complicated. I mean seriouasly a super confusing time-traveling plot to explain Reflector being in Spotlight Wheelie?
Anguirus
^This. At least respect Barber enough to bash him if you don't think HE is doing HIS job well.
payton34
For all of those quick to blame Dille for crapping all over the continuity that Roberts and "IDW" have established, correct me if I am wrong but isn't it required that a script gets editorial approval before it is published?
If so, then if there is any blame to go around for screwing with IDW's precious continuity, it lies at the feet of IDW itself.
Stryker055
I will defend Costa only as far as his writing of Thundercracker, which was the best thing he ever did (probably the only good thing).
Anyway, I dislike this book because it's poorly-written. It's boring, characters are written completely out of character, it stomps over much better ideas (ones that were already established), and it's really just a pointless story. If you like it, that's great. I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, I myself just really don't like it.
YoungPrime
Trypticon is clearly the subplot here.
Megatron being a wiser leader due to taking the Quintesson's life energy will play some part in the con's taking Trypticon for themselves. And who knows if he'll remain "mindless".
maku098
Dat 1986 movie reference.
Anguirus
^ Yeah just like Predaking in Prime was a mindless beast OH WAIT SHIIIIIII
