Yes, you read that headline right, there is a Transformers Complete Drift Hardcover collection in the works, according to Amazon's UK site. Right now there is no indication on what is contained in the hardcover, but with a 152 page count in there, it seems likely that the hardcover will collect the four issue miniseries exploring the origins and motivations of Drift, along with Transformers Spotlight: Drift.

Transformers: Complete Drift Hardcover is set for a January 2013 release.

Really not needed, but hardcover releases are always welcome.

Looking at the page count, it seems to be a collection of the Drift mini and Spotlight Drift, but that still brings it up a bit short. Potentially there might be some concept sketches in there or something, because I can't see his debut issue making the cut given it was in the middle of AHM.

I have the regular TPB of the Drift issues, but I may pick this one up as well. Regardless of the trendy hate he receives, I like him

Hardcover Drift is just what the doctor ordered, I'm getting 15.
Murasame
Drift is overhated. He's definitely cool.
Grimwing
I like drift and that was a fine miniseries. That has shaped the direction of the current ongoing more than meets the eye and robots in disguise books.

But I'm find with my existing trade paperback of the miniseries.
Still the art is nice, and the storytelling really fills you in on Drift well. Taking a full Hero's Journey across this little series.

My speculation is:
Dai Atlas, Lockdown, and others will be on MTMTE later. But some readers would not know who they are. So, in order to inform those who didn't read Drift miniseries, IDW decided to re-release this book.

Maybe we'll get a new prose story in this. That may make up the extra pages

You can't look awesome and be a ninja and do cool swords in stupid PROSE, dawg.
Spin-Out
Needs more snarky Roberts-written fundie Drift.
Torque
Interesting, kinds hoping it comes with bonus material-otherwise its a pass.
gothsaurus
Yeah, I'm curious to hear about extra content. Anyone have the Drift TPB handy? Can you let me know what it included? I have the comics, but not the trade. If it turns out to be the same content, I'll opt for the paperback version.

That's a good idea. It wasn't until his Spotlight that I actually gave a shit about what was going on in his head. Prose can really bring more of that out.

You're probably right. Good call.

The TPB has 4 issues, cover art(9 arts, 10 pages), and sketch art from Milne(3 pages).

Tsk your not buzzing with positivity.

If there is a short story in text. Or an extra short comic or two like the extra 1 and 2 page comics in the LSOTWs book I'll be all over this. Otherwise, probably not.
Grimwolf100

Nonsense. I'm very positive!

I'm positive that if I'd ever be forced to go to a book burning, I got a book I'd positively toss in the pile.

As a book lover, I'd be loathe to burn a real book. Oh sure, I got a lot of other stinkers for burning candidate, but this is now the best choice!
xanthax
Not really feeling this one. I already have the TPB and TF Collection #4 HC that contains his miniseries and spotlight.

care to sell me one of those 15?
gothsaurus
any confirmation on any bonus content? If there is —*ala the Wreckers hardcover — I'd jump in. There was enough Cybertronian history to get me wanting to bite on this, even though there WAS an awful lot of Drift in there. Like Sunstorm, there's just something fanfic about the character. Doesn't quite reach the bar.
shroobmaster
Shane McCarthy must've wasted a good cash hiring Drift to write this for him.
