what is "coda"?

After the third issue I'm dropping the Ongoing. I cannot compel myself to like the design choice that clearly turns my stomach.

heh, I knew id spell his name wrong!

Hasbro keep insist on calling Movie style characters 'Modern' (like inthe Q&As)- now maybe they just mean contempary – but I personally take that to be a snooty attitude to the past that I find distasteful.
Other companies have updated a vintage brand (If 1980's Transformers are to be considered vintage now), and have done some in a way that complements the originals even if it updates them. for example Mattel's 2002 MOTU line, Takara's Microman '99 line, and Hasbro's own Gi Joe in most cases don't dismiss the past but draw upon it.
I think the implication of some of Hasbro's statements seems to say that Transformers can no longer be robust in design but have to have more of a skeletal look and lots of exposed parts… just because Michael Bay & ILM says so.
Just because ILM think Transformers have to look like General Grevious why does this mean Hasbro has to think that.
Looking up at my shelf as I type my eye is more drawn to Universe Inferno than to Movie Ramjet as a positive and appealing look for a Transformer.
I get the feeling that what makes a Transformer a transformer was uniform up until The movie (And excluding some of the Beast Era & some of Transformers Animated) until the movie style came along and started changing that.
Where only some movie characters retain some of that past feel that carried right through to Transformers Cybertron.
But to feel that it's hip and modern to impose retrospectively a movie look to G1 Character in IDW comics just worries me a lot. and worries me even more for the future of the brand. it to me seems like a miss step.
Sort of like when G2 went a bit to dayglow and changed the faction logos, or when Hasbro served up Pretenders and Micromasters & ActionMasters back to back with no traditional designs to compensate for that.
Those I feel were troublesome choices and this IDW design choice seems rather
troublesome as well to me.
G1 & The Movieverse are not really the same thing enough to try to slam them together to the detriment of the G1 theme seems a mistake to me – it's bad enough they redesigned the characters several times already. but to then do so with more than a twist of Movieverse is something I find difficult to enjoy.
For me the whole point of G1 and classics is as an antidote to The Movieverse somewhere to run to when you get sick of the other style.
I almost feel that the need for things that are overly kiddyish is increased with two themes that look Bionicleish – a balance is then more needed – but I don't really want Transformers Animated again so soon it would feel like a rehash and it wouldn't seem as fresh as if they left it for longer before revisiting that style.
I find myself worried now for 2010/2011 more than I otherwise would have been – I feel worried that my long running concerns of undue influence on the main lines of Movie style my come to pass and we would risk loosing that change of pace between movie lines that keeps the next movie line more interesting (initially at least) by virtue of it being a change of pace.
If everything looks the same It would get really dull really quick.

All Hail actually goes to issue 16 the "coda" issues, there are also 5 spotlights that ran during the 16 issue run of All Hail and they were spotlight Jazz,Blurr,Drift,Metroplex, and Cliffjumper. All Hail TPB 3 has the spotlight issues and TPB 4 has the coda issues. TPB 3 is out now,and volume 4 comes out at the end of Jan.

well, IIRC, according to AHM the Decepticons have done a pretty good job of perfecting gestalt technology [case in point: Devastator]
so i dont think it'd be too far out of the realm of possibility to see the Stunticons at least getting upgraded with gestalt tech
which i would really like to see
Menasor FTW
Kraken
Ah I see, cheers for that. Looking at those designs for the Stunticons, Menosor would be pretty kick ass, hope it happens.
Dark_T_Zeratul
Combiner technology in the IDW universe is relatively new, and thus far we've only seen it used for Monstructor (the first combiner), and Devastator. Although, since we know the Decepticons (probably exclusively) have access to the technology, it's not outside the realm of possibility that the Stunticons would combine as well.
Chopperface
Fascinating. Whenever a fan-favorite Decepticon doesn't really do any productive shit in a movie, they seem to get a sequel series to themselves…
I'm tempted to think that bird-bot thing that brought the Doctor's "tools" to investigate Sam's brain is Lazerbeak… but I doubt it.
Also, it seems they forgot Longarm is NOT part of the Elite Guard… AGAIN. =\
honcho
With all these awesome covers, it'd be nice if they blew some of them up poster-sized. There hasn't been a single AHM cover I didn't like; very stylish.
Kraken
I've not really been following the ongoing, but why wouldn't they combine?
Smokescreen
I love Motormaster's design along with the rest of the Stunticons. It would be cool if they all combined into Menasor, but I highly doubt that will happen.
ORIO
Stunticons look awesome! Lookin' forward to issue 5.

Prey is one of the best UK stories IMO. I'll pre-order a copy of the TPB from Amazon right now. As for the rest, I will have to wait for the eventual Wreckers, Bumblebee and ongoing TPBs before reading those stories, can't really justify paying shipping to Sweden for a 32 page comic filled with ads.
The Wreckers mini-series looks promising, enough that I might decide that the above doesn't apply to it after all. Couldn't care less for Animated and RotF, but with four interesting releases in a month, who am I to complain?
