From IDW we have a preview for the Transformers 30th Anniversary Collection, due out tomorrow!
Transformers 30th Anniversary Collection
It’s a celebration 30 years in the making! Relive the landmark comics that helped define the legacy of TRANSFORMERS and read along with the creators that made these great comics as Jim Sorenson provides insight from a range of writers and artists that breathed life into the denizens of CYBERTRON. From Marvel to Dreamwave to IDW and other iterations in-between, this book is a must have for TF collectors!
Read on to preview this collection!

I flipped through it, and didn't buy. The new content is a very brief and superficial one-page interview with a creator for every story. Nothing like the out-of-control history in the Marvel UK collections. I would recommend it only for TF comic newbies wanting a scattershot sampling of cool stuff.
They even say at one point "we could have picked something good to represent Armada, but here's that notoriously bad pack-in comic that we are putting in because somebody spoofed it. No, this isn't the spoof version." What was the point of THAT?

Damn..the postman came yesterday for delivery & no one was at home
Btw any of you guys here got the book already? Any thoughts & opinions?

I've had this one on pre-order…nice to get a sneak peek for the contents.
Lumpy
oh right on, okay. maybe i will get this down the road then.
Autovolt 127
This is really cool.
IaconStargazer
According to the Table of Contents image, it's 15 stories and some extra content adding up to an approximately 300-page hardcover, so a $30-50 price tag is pretty reasonable.
Lumpy
Huh, i don't recall even hearing about this. i might buy it, but i can't find it on Comixology. What's the retail price?
EDIT: Nevermind, found it. so it's just 3 issues? for 50 bucks? Or am I missing something?
Magnus’ Mate
Of course. Despite fandom trying to paint Costa as the boogey-man constantly, he wrote some good stuff. His Thundercracker issue was great.
I like the look of this book for the historical/extra content… dependent on the Amazon price, I might be tempted…
Jalaguy
Well, if they had to put a Costa issue in, I guess it's best that they did a Thundercracker focus one.
Looks very cool, especially those sketches in the introduction, but for a 'history of the brand' celebration it does feel a little G1 heavy. Although maybe it's best that they didn't put, say, IDW's Beast Wars stuff in…
General Tekno
Any "Best of" collection is going to be that. It's kinda inevitable.
As is though I think a lot of the issues in here do stand alone pretty well as Transformers stories.

Not a must have for me… The Marvel TF comics were lame to me as a kid, and almost unreadable for me now. iDW art is often amazing, but the stories don't catch my fancy…. I clicked thinking this was a new toy line revealed… Need to read the captions more. Lol
Dark Magnus
I want finished versions of all of Roche's Prowl and Kup sketches on that page!
Matty
I'm pretty interested in this. Hopefully it turns out great.

the historical stuff is very cool, but i've always found IDWs "Best of" Collections to be kind of a "WTF" proposition ~ a bunch of unrelated, incomplete stories… i mean, in this one you get DW#0, Marvel's Return to Cybertron part 1 and Infilitration #6… it's just so…. random.
General Tekno
Cool; a forward by Archer.
Also, that Roche sketch of Prowl puppeting Kup is priceless. That needs to be a print.
