Dammit, all this book does is make me sad Hasbro has no plans for more Geewun RH's. Least I have the movie ones to keep me entertained though.

And why are they melding G1 bot modes with movie vehicles? It's the flash animation all over again, only this time Bumblebee looks like a robotic Beetle that transforms into a Camaro instead.

Prowl's "Best Friends For Life!" thing made me laugh.

I LOL'd when I saw only the top of Drift's head in the water. He looks so mad.

I LOL'd at the Half Movie Half G1 version of Prime's Vehicle mode.

I LOVE this comic - Robot Heroes style is adorable. The story seems to be an amlagamation of cartoon and Marvel Comics (Primus, ark leaves to search for energon)...

Though I'm a bit annoyed by IDW shoehorning Drift into this. Will there be a Robot Heroes Drift, I wonder?

Wow! I'm glad I didn't preorder this after all. What started out as a very cute concept – telling a fun story for kids in the G1 Robot Heroes style – somehow resulted in a garbled mess of styles and a blatant plug for IDWs nobody character. I get the same reaction from this that I felt with that "cartoon" on Hasbro's site recently. What's with this horrible fusion of G1 robot modes with movie vehicle modes lately? I really hope this isn't an indication of where the franchise is headed.

It's definitely geared towards the younger audience.

I love the part where Primes says, "We land in darkness and hide our ship deep underwater", and on the next page the Ark is sticking out of the side of the volcano.

Anyone else notice that they say they hide their ship in the water, but in the last panel we see it in the background crashed into the side of the mountain.

I love RH but it is odd that they have as of now "canned" characters and unproduced ones.

With all due respect to the artists creating this RH book...

I really find the artwork lacking. Robot Heroes are CARICATURES. And you assigned this book to an artist who is unable to caricature the faces and poses. Look at the closeups on page 2 - they are so sterile and dead and realistically handled.

Sorry, but I think in order for this to have worked, they needed to get Marcello or Guido - the guys who designed the 'caricatured' robot heroes line in the first place. Those guys would have drawn the characters with the right amount of animation and cartooniness - and caricature. It aint just about mimicing the cute proportions. It's about attitude and gesture and it's not in this art. Not by a mile. Too bad. I don't doubt this artist could tackle other TF series - just not one with this cartoony feel.

Clearly IDW didn't give this much thought as far as artist casting. They probably thought "eh, it's robot heroes, who cares.." Well I do. I love Robot Heroes - and again, all due respect to the artist who drew these, but I feel you were miscast and missed the mark.

Oh well - this Robot Heroes fan will not be buying this book

When is this coming out? I hope Hasbro makes more G1 RH.

I picked up the Movie RH toys, and they are pretty great. The twins and sideswipe are great sculpts with lots of character. But my favorites are G1 RHs. More!!!

Hasbro has said that new G1/BW Robot Heroes have been cancelled and will not return for the forseeable future. It could be late 2010 before we get new ones that aren't movie related.

The new vehicle modes are a bit weird.

Seriously. I hate it when they do that. Like how Transformers Animated was nothing but a huge plug for CN's nobody Bulkhead character. Lame.

Interesting but different.

Looks like a mish mash of series. Ship under the sea (animated/BW), Drift (IDW and a neat up and coming character), Legends BB alt mode over classic or movie to imply both.
And overly simplified entirely.

And no, that's not movie BB, or G1. It's Universe 2.0 Legends BB. The only toy accurate of the 5 in the comic so far. xD
Drift though, I understand since he has a toy coming too, arcee will help push her animated one, ratchet helps push the ratchet homage in animated too. But I have no clue as to why the change for prime's alt mode.
And a lil more indepth dialogue would have been nice. Like The matrix was handed down through the ages from the first transformer primus, and a few other subtle changes to the text would be nice. But it doesn't look like it's having that much thought put in. Just something for the youngsters to enjoy and know who people are.
Not something I'd buy, it reminds me of the not so great dvds they used to include in the battle packs when they didn't have real episodes. A decent feet wetter, but nothing all that great by itself. Kudo's for including the cybertron forms though. And also kudos for picking diverse bots.

Arcee being strong willed coming from Optimus? And her admitting after being humble at first? He's begged her to lube his chasis, but she won't. That's the vibe I got between the lines. xD

Ratchet is Prime's oldest pal? So... sort of the way that TFA Ratchet was a fusion of Ratchet and Ironhide? Weird... they really can't decide what continuity they're playing with.

Plus, looking at the rolling out page, does anyone else get the impression that the vehicle modes were initially drawn G1, but then were altered afterwards to make them more movie/animated-esque, due to some editorial decision? I mean, chop the front end off Prime and Ratchet, and they're G1 all the way.

Okay... fair point. I don't hate Drift like everybody else in the universe does apparently. Personally I think all the Drift Hate is blown WAY out of proportion... mostly by people who are just looking for more reasons to blast AHM, which they claim to hate.

And yet everybody likes Devcon for some reason. Go figure.

But even I think it's pretty strange to have Drift in this comic.
