Jazzy Zx:
Me and Mastergeorge found out simon Furman has updated his blog this time with info about the Titan transformers animated comic including line art
.

ANIMATED UPDATE! simon furman Sso02V:
wow...that looks awful.
SPLIT LIP:
That's a little whack. Prime's foot looks broken almost, and BB looks really weird.
dark69:
.....very bad.....
Nachtsider:
Wow - old school. Just fill those images in with Nel Yomtov-style colors and it'd be like reading them past Marvel issues all over again.
Kingplay:
hope they improve...
Sol Fury:
The UK Movie comic was hit or miss early on for art. It's improved greatly on the recent issues but it is still sometimes inconsistent between issues (like the faces on Twilight's Last Gleaming, or Arcee and Elita's designs flickering between their Scout Releases, Classic show versions (heads anyway) or in Arcee's case the Movie Deluxe version in her first appearance).
The writing however has been top notch the whole way through.
AutobotMarine:
Seriously. WTF is going on in this picture?
Harbinger:
its like a artist is trying to copy the animated style while retaining their own unique style. and in the end it looks weird and almost completely unlikeable.
Bass X0:
Darn. I could have got this news credit. I was the first post in his blog.
rizuan76:
Hopefully it'll turn out nicer-looking when it's fully colored coz it's drawn by John Mcrea (of Hitman fame w/Garth Ennis)
We'll just wait & see then...
Sideswipe80:
I wonder how out of character Furman is going to write the Animated cast. I wish Hasbro never let him write this universe it doesn't need him.
Takara_destron:
Not looking good.

Arcee's design changing every issue is beyond annoying.
Railguard:
The art is cool but I'm more interested in the toys.
Switchblade:
In a word,
Chris McFeely:
John McCrea is the fucking BAWLS, but I'm left scratching my head over this.
Mister Gone:
I think McCrea secretly hates the animated series and this is his way of showing it.
Bumblethumper:
In many ways I think it's a tougher assignment to do comics based on established cartoon stylings. There's less room for artistic individualism.
They did a 2 page animated preview comic for issue 13 of the regular comic, and this at least looks more coherent than that did. Anyone see it? It was a jumbled mess.

Easy money I should imagine, a few quick pages for an undemanding kiddie rag during gaps in his regular work probably helps pay the bills.

It's sad if he feels that way

looking through his
website, it's clear he's capable of a broad range of styles, but with varying degrees of success. I think no artist can do their best work when the job doesn't play to their strengths. One doesn't always get to pick and choose.
Railguard:
Eh, not sure about this at all....
Chris McFeely:
McCrea's been doing the "How To Draw" segments for the UK movie mag, and it's a whole different style there. At a con last year, I saw two big full page group-shots he'd done of the G1 Autobot and Decepticons, and they were well nice. I think the thing with Animated is simply that it has a very, VERY specific style that ISN'T malleable, and you either draw it PRECISELY (see: the IDW book), or you get... well, this. The short strip in the movie mag drew is precisely, but it was a collection of weird copy-pasted static images.
ian5555:
It's a comic directed more towards kids, what do you expect but making it simple? lol
