Denton J. Tipton; editor for IDW Publishing, is a person who worked tirelessly on behalf of the Transformers Community. He gave up the glamorous world of journalism to work with a media close to his heart: Comics.
Yesterday, Mr. Tipton announced his retirement from Transformers Comics. However, he’ll still work on his new project “Dungeons & Dragons”.
He will be saying his “Goodbye” via Transformers: Ongoing #7.
We wish Mr. Tipton, Good Luck for his future projects!

Coincidentally, a condor with a familiar looking face took his place at IDW…

Maybe we'll see a more cohesive art style among the books so that characters don't look so radically different from one book to another.

Well I can't claim to have worked with him, but the errors were constantly there.
His reader comments were flippant or self-serving and I'm not sure there was a bit of true passion about fan concerns. Always telling us to wait until later, when it will all make sense…
I'm not one who hated AHM either, I just noticed as a casual reader that under Denton's reign things were looser than ever.
WhiteRabbit
Nope. Denton came on after AHM was green-lighted. You guys are forgetting the interim editor of the time.
To those saying "good riddance", I wish I could share in your meaningless misguided malice if it would actually mean TF comics will be better without him. I've worked with a lot of people on TF stuff, and Denton is easily one of the best.
alfred p. sloan
Sorry "Double-Denton" but good riddance… Under your watch more editing errors were commited than before or since.
Yeah, not sorry to see you leave.

That's what I was thinking. Wasn't he the driving force behind AHM??
Despite that, I wish him the best.
Nevermore
Wasn't that Dan Taylor? Tipton didn't take over editing duties until 2008. Unless by "redeeming" you mean "greenlighting All Hail Megatron".
jorod74
He's an uber nerd. ya gotta be to "retire' from Transformers for the green pastures of "D&D", lol.
i never really read the IDW books, but he helped redeem the TF-verse after the Dreamwave era.
for that alone, i wish to thank him and wish him all the best.

Does he deserve some sort of special plaudits for a particular reason or just because he's not Nick Roche ?
GMfan101
Don't leave us with that tool Andy!!!
Help us Denton! You're our only hope!

Goodbye Mr. Tipton! Thank You Very Much for the services you did to the entire Transformers Community.

Wow! Crazy.
I wish him best of luck. But, I wonder who will be replacing him?

In an interview with 'Wizards of the Coast', readable here, Mr. Tipton indicates he's moving on from Transformer comics to work on the Dungeons & Dragons series. He'll be giving his goodbyes in Ongoing #7.
