Hot rods alt mode is a tweaked up pagani (sp?) Zonda …. I think it actually works for him … Better then the viper
Grimlock King
I honestly have to say, I've lost interest in the current "on going series" at some point and #19 drew me in cuz of the art work and later bought it because of the storyline. At some point I hope IDW will explain what happened to Wheelie during his stay on the planet. Spotlight Wheelie was just the tip of the iceberg. Hot Rod is my 2nd or 3rd fav character and I didn't like how he was written lately – a quiter. Redemption time. Don is a great TF artist. I particularly did not like his concept art for the on going series but for Guidi it works for his presentation, IMO. LOVE IT. Picked up #20 today too!
Maverick Hunter Christian
Huh. Is this the first time we've seen Hot Rod transform since the ongoing began? Aside of concept art, I don't remember seeing his alt mode before. Neat, surprised he could do it with the matrix lodged in his chest.
Man… the first full splash image of Wheelie was… mesmerizing. The look on his face, the cold, empty stare goes to show that this little guy has seen some harsh times and I get the feeling the events of Spotlight: Wheelie weren't the worst of it.
The only bit I didn't care for was the painfully awkward way Rodimus tries explaining his name. When dealing with a potentially crazy person, I don't think I'd labor them with mountains of detail. Just, straight up, "Wheelie! Its me, Hot Rod!" not this whole, "Oh hey, I'm Rodimus, my name was different way back when, but a Decepticon diddled my ego and I liked how it felt…" Don't care for it.
DecepticonSpike
Loved Guidi's art. The story, IMO, is an improvement over the last few issues.
I also have to say that while I'm no fan of G1 Wheelie, I felt sorry for him having been on that planet for God knows how long.
DJW107PRIME
Damn That wasn't bad. Mabye Hotrod can fix Suntreakers legs with the matrix.
ORIO
Good read, great art. Interesting to see how the Matrix is affecting Rodimus. It's almost like it's forcing him to bare it. The Matrix is disconnected from Prime and making itself a new Prime. Says a lot of weird shit about the Matrix we never gave thought to
Interested to see whats happened with Wheelie and why he's a little off. Wonder what's happened to his partner
Tampalicious
This was the last issue I had ordered monthly (switching to trades), so I picked it up today.
Im likin the characterization on Wheelie I mean seriously, he still has that grey arm. Nice!
Here we go again with Roddy , the Fallen Angel……but whatever…..
Nice to see him "realizin" stuff about himself on those two panels where he talks about the 'admiral'. That was pretty cool.
Gonna be weird waiting for the trades, Galvatron looks badass…..
UltraMagnus3786
This was a return of Guidi's AHM-styled art, but in Don's designs. Loved the faces, loved the colors. Joana Lafuente is awesome. Check out Ironhide and spotlight blurr, she did the colors on that too. Great art
Loved the story. Poor Wheelie is a little cooky, but I'm sure he'll be fixed soon. Kinda fun that Hot Rod took that one monster with him. Good story, looking forward to the next one.

The art in this issue was really top notch. The story was definitely some of Costa's best stuff….. so far. He has a tendency to start these great ideas and then completely drop the ball, so we'll see how he does next issue. But so far it's looking pretty good.
Lord Shockwave
Now we're talkin!
Best issue since #4 on this ongoing. Dare I say, one of the most well written TF comics IDW has released to date.
I found it reminiscent of Simon's best stuff from the UK Marvel days, when he wasn't afraid to expand the TF universe to include creatures other than robots and humans. Sometimes, it was a mess. But others, it was lovely. This issue? Lovely.
The dialogue is perfect, really. This is Costa at his best, I think, where he sprinkles in some good humor to complement the suspense and intrigue. This is the Costa I thought we were going to get after he first wrote that Decepticon short story in AHM.
And I think this is Guido's best work also. Awesome stuff.
More of this! Give it an "A+".

I am actually interested in picking this issue up. I've haven't really had any interested in buying any of this series yet.

FINALLY some really really good art again. No boring blank backgrounds, good colorist, good artist. It's about time they stepped up the art again. Story is actually looking interesting so far too. I'm actually really looking forward to this issue. Hopefully this is a good sign of things to come and IDW will start to get their act back together…. HOPEFULLY.
Kaijumaster
Oh sweet Dons not drawing this issue….and you have no idea how much it breaks my heart that I mean that.
Acteon
I used to do the same, but the price is what made me switch in the end – I can read a TF comic in 5 minutes, so for £3.50 it's not even close to worth it. That and I was running out of space for the comics themselves, and I don't really like the comic format anyway because it's a bitch to keep organised.
I was picking up the TPB's, but to be honest I haven't really thought ongoing was good enough to justify buying the books. I buy digitally to keep up with what's going on, but I wouldn't say anything in the current ongoing run has been either memorable or worth re-reading. Hell, it makes All Hail Megatron look epic
I really hope Furman gets the Marvel-era reboot off the ground. Comparing dross like Heart of Darkness to Target 2006 or Wrath of Guardian/Grimlock is borderline depressing.
YoungPrime
One things for certain, Mattel is most likely going to sue for the blatant "Whiplash" infringement.

I just found this article on IDW's site:
IDW Publishing | The home of 30 Days of Night, Star Trek, Terminator, Transformers, G.I. Joe…
Apparently you can get their digital comics a few different ways. I just checked and my Kindle and Google Books apps both have IDW stuff, but it looks like it's not quite as current as the iOS app.

Thanks. That seals it for me, my iTouch died, and I'm sold on Android now, doubt I'll ever look back. Oh well.
AngryChad
I think they've got pretty much everything on there now (at least for the G1 Transformers stuff. I don't follow anything else). Releases of ongoing are about a month behind comic shops. You have to purchase and view them through an app, and then you can view them on any iDevice you own. I've restored my purchases several times now, and never had an issue.
They're lagging a bit more than usual on the Heart of Darkness stuff though, not sure why. Only issue #1 so far.

So, IDW does digital distribution through iTunes? (I only check in here sporadically) Interesting… Wonder how full their iCatalog is.. And are they very portable after purchase, like in a .PDF format, or are they only useable in iTunes, or on the PC you bought it on?
General Tekno
I'd be more tempted to get digital, given I get all the TPBs, except half my reason for buying the comics themselves is to support the local comic shop.
I like giving them my sales.
