Busy morning for Transformers comic fans! IDW’s Tumblr page has updated with a new cover for the upcoming Transformers: Primacy #2, done by Transformers: Windblade artist Sarah Stone! The cover features some of the “big name” Decepticons, focusing mainly on Soundwave, Starscream, and Shockwave, among others.
Sarah has also taken to her own Tumblr to post a clean version of the cover.
You can check them both and and discuss after the break!
Starscream Gaga
Her interior art is still better then Livio's interior art though.

Blackwall, huh?
I was guessing Lugnut. He needs to show up someplace.
Shortwave
Naaah he just needs a hug.

Blackwall….well he sure looks very foreboding.

I've warmed up to Liveo's work. It's gotten better since I first saw it.
Stone's work is what I'm iffy on, just a little. Only in the sense that I can see a difference between issue 1 and issues 2, 3, and 4 of Windblade. I can only guess, but my money is on that she had more time to work on #1, than the rest. If she can "Windblade #1" from now on, I have no complaint. The actual style, I have no issues with.

I actually think the opposite is true and that Livio is the 'filler' artist.
No matter what your, my, anyone's opinion on the quality of his work is, the guy is utilizing a form of digital painting that harkens to 'speedpainting'. Pure speculation, but I think he can work pretty fast and might be the guy that IDW calls when they're in trouble or want something new, fast. (Not meant negative at all, by the way).
As for who's better…can we all at least agree their styles are wildly different? Stone has a huge Japanese bishonen/oekakiboard/deviantart influence, or whatever you want to call it. Livio's work is darker and more suggestive.
Even if the 'cute' look isn't always my thing either, I think Stone has a MUCH better grip on colors, poses and perspective, but both have some trouble with panel layouts sometimes.
I don't want to be mean to Livio, I heard he's a GREAT guy, but I feel his characters often look bland (especially new, original designs) but I've also seen pages and panels that looked STUNNING.
Sometimes I just worry if maybe a lot of fans like his work the same reason kids liked Spawn in the 90s: art that looks grimdark, awesome and detailed, but is pretty average underneath. I'm having trouble wording this right, because again – I don't want to slam anyone, but that's my honest opinion, I guess.
But I love that IDW is offering many different artists and styles the chance to shine and grow, so more power to all of them.
Captain
Livio's art is much better. I think sometimes Stone is just a filler artist. Allowing others to take a break.
Chopperface
Damned if Blackwall doesn't look like Animated Megatron with that silhouette.
Jalaguy
It's Blackwall, a Decepticon who's shown up intermittently throughout the -acies.
I don't think he's ever been named on-panel; the name comes from Livio.
SMOG
So who's toaster-head?

SPLIT LIP
I wish Stone's interior art was that good.

Dayum!

I wish Livio's Transformers art could be that good.
