I thought his role might be relegated to a cameo. Just a little easter egg for the fans. But I'm glad to see he's a main character in this issue.

And then Ironhide and Sky Byte went gay for each other.

Kiss him...kiss him...

Also! I guess this confirms Wheelie left on the Lost Light.

I thought I'd never see him again

Not quite. According to interviews he, Hardhead, and Garnak went off on their own. Orion runs into them next issue of RiD.

"Reminds me of someone I knew. Long ago."

I see what you're doing there.

PFFFFT. How did I not notice that earlier? That is FREAKIN' HILARIOUS.
SPLIT LIP
Sky-Byte, why aren't you funny?

Oh wow, I didn't even get that.
Josh
You have to read it in peter spellos' voice
ORIO
Very cool. I'm all in favor of bringing characters from other universes into the "G1" Universe
Nope
I hope that Arcee has enough morality to disregard Prowl and leave Dirge alone.

Wait.... I don't get it.

I thought he just meant that he knew Scourge before the war.

No, it's almost certainly a reference to someone the original Sky-Byte knew--RiD Scourge.
Kakashi
I like not-buffoon Sky-Byte.

I also like how Starscream just politely backed off and left him to Metalhawk. Guys who follow you around trying to convince you that they've 'changed' or 'are good now' are normally just trying to convince themselves. Whatever Starscream has become now, he's firmly grounded in it. Our new backstabbing schemer is Prowl. And he doesn't look thrilled with the role.

That's irrelevent. The joke is Sky-Byte was reminded by a Scourge clone of someone he knew; he knew a guy called Scourge on the RiD cartoon. That's the joke.

Meh....I've scene bits and pieces of that show and I must say that ignorance is bliss.

Thank you for bringing us back around, duder. This thread had been forcibly brought to a halt.

Can't wait to get this issue, and I need a toy of that Sky-Byte design yesterday

YoungPrime has +5 vs. humor.
Star Saber
I find it funny that the writer had to intentionally write Arcee's dialogue so bluntly.

"I'm not your assassin and I'm not a psycho killer."

That's what practically most fans are complaining about. Talk about being direct, but I guess this is Barber's way of telling us directly he's going to be taking her in a different direction.

And also that Scourge joke was hilarious!
Acteon
I must be in the minority, but I'm finding RiD as dull and lifeless as anything during Costa's run. MTME just shames this.

(I'll still buy it though in order to keep up. For now.)
MovieGodOptimus
I now ship Sky-Byte and Ironhide!
QLRformer
A great debut for Sky-Byte: though he's basically a new character to the universe which allows for the potential to be his own character, he's still got some endearing RID quirks (shark mode, thing for haikus).

Also, wow. Since when did Arcee become Cybertron's Dark Knight?
BB Shockwave
"I am not your assassin and I am not a psycho killer."

Yeah, Arcee, that's why you shot Sunstorm in the head after he was already down, and that's why you cruelly teased Ratbat that you would not kill him before stabbing him? Not to mention tearing his wings off and nailing him to a wall...

Seriously, this comic and Autocracy is starting to make the Autobots look like we are actually reading a Shattered Glass story.

Also, world's biggest RETCON! We are meant to believe that all those ancient TFs, you know, the ones Galvatron brought back to life in Hearts of Darkness, like the computer TF from the crab-pirate's ship?
Well, apparently eventually they all started looking like Sweeps.

I... well... All I have to say, is this:

bullshit! - YouTube
Except they did. Galvatron got an army in HoD of diverse bots, who suddenly all looked like Sweeps during Chaos.
Sockie
Yeah, let's be happy Barber actually bothered to explain that huge plothole rather than just leave it forever annoying anyone who goes back to read HoD and Chaos.

I'm actually really likeing this. Now, I'm not your typical fan, and I do tend to favor villians a lot too. However, I've been a bit burnt out on Autobots being perfect paragons of justice (TF: Prime Optimus), or being ruthless killers who are still called paragons of justice (Movie Optimus), so I'm digging Autobots who are doing morally questionable things and being seen as "bad" guys.

I'm thinking Prowl may become a full-on (well-intentioned) villian in RiD, and I like it. It's honestly the most excited I've ever been for a non-Animated Prowl.

Thanks for sharing.

I just noticed that they're drawing SkyByte's anchor arm a bit differently. His original anchor arm went all the way down to his feet.

Sky-Byte (RID) - Transformers Wiki

The new design has him with normal sized arms, with his left hand still being a claw. Check the top panel.

http://i.newsarama.com/images/transf...eview_0007.jpg

It's not a bad look . . . but I think it looks cooler with the longer arm.
General Tekno
It's definitely not the old Cybershark design - for one, the top of the shark head actually becomes his chest on this design.
