Wow, these guys are intense. This is exactly what Furman's boring Reapers from the -ations *should* have been but weren't: a bunch of terrifying guys who immediately strike fear in their victim's hearts because they're so powerful and utterly evil. I'm worried for Drift now...though I would LOVE to see them give Overlord a taste of his own medicine.

And there's another hint that Rung is still alive...note the text on the inside cover page: "On Rodimus' orders, Swerve fires upon Fort Max - but ends up accidentally shooting Rung in the head."

It says "shooting him in the head", not "killing him". On the other hand, I don't like the way Rung is lying there with his arms in the corpse position...

Also, that language Vos is speaking, is it using the same characters as the Cybertronian in the Live Action Movies? Would be cool to know what he's actually saying.

Considering that Kaon, Tarn, and Vos have all been shown to have had those names before the Great War in the IDWverse, I'm pretty sure that's not the case. And none of these guys are striking me as being important figures pre-war.

Those five cities were named issues ago as the first five to fall to the Decepticons. I think it's to show that they are Megatron's biggest fans.

Agreed. It was also mentioned in Milne's Deviantart account that there was a reason he wore a mask. I'm thinking they're Decepticons who got new identities when they joined the DJD. Megatron in IDW continuity was from Tarn. My guess, the positions are replaceable, with the leader of the DJD taking on the name Tarn, and the rest filling out as needed.

That said, this was really a great teaser. In just 5 pages, we got a complete story, giving us a lot of information on just how terrifying the DJD are. Also, anyone catch Black Shadow beating up Optimus and Magnus on page 1? Can't believe he got away with killing 3000 while a Prime was around (not to mention Kup and Ultra Magnus), and only 3 with the Wreckers. Somehow I'm afraid we'll get a Deus Ex Machina resolution for the DJD arc, with the way they're being built up. After all, if Black Shadow could beat up some of their heavy hitters easily, how can the Lost Light take on the DJD the way they are? The thing is, I'm still looking forward to it though,because if anyone can pull this off without making it seem lame, it'd be Roberts.

Also, we want toys now Hasbro!

Of course, maybe they could activate a certain Phase Sixer who's really pissed at Megatron. That would even the odds a bit.

not true, we have magnus, fort max, brainstorm's ultimate weapon, cyclonus, whirl. To say they dont stand a chance is an underestimation

Look at the first page of the teaser. Black Shadow is beating up on Prime and Ultra Magnus easily, and got away with killing 3000 bots. He also took on a more powerful Wreckers squad and lived while killing 3 of them. Considering a similarly powerful Overlord also took apart For Max (who easily beat up Whirl btw), who you bring up as another heavy hitter on the Lost Light, i'd say Black Shadow would have been more than able to take on the Lost Light by himself, and he was beaten up and killed by the DJD, ergo DJD > Lost Light Crew. I foresee a lot of deaths coming up.

Maybe its just because of how fresh it is in my head, but I'm reading Tarn with Tom Hardy's Bane voice.... and I love it.
