Coming our way via IDW’s Twitter account, we have what looks to be a post-Dark Cybertron teaser image, showing Optimus Prime/Orion Pax along with what might very well be Earth and its moon, possibly signifying an imminent return to our world in the IDW continuity.
Only time will tell what this all really means, but for now, check out the attached image and discuss on the boards!

This art work looks cool. It looks like it was done by Casey Coller.
Megastar
Finally the Autobots are back where they truly belong.
LegendAntihero
Is that his new look? Just pasting on the Autobot symbol in the cleavage of his window boobs? I could probably do that with a repro sticker on my Orion toy
Rattrap Primal
How will things play out? When the Autobots left Earth, they severed ties to Skywatch after they learned that the still Fugitive Spike was dealing with Swindle for tech, humans where actively hunting anything remotely Cybertronian, regardless of faction, the world was still rebuilding after All Hail Megatron, Thundercracker left for who knows where, being a neutral party after he aided against the Predacons and the Stunticons earlier. Will Prime and maybe a few other Autobots work in secret? Would we see the introduction of the IDW version of Fowler and Unit E? Will Spike ever be brought in?

A similar thought crossed my mind initially! I wasn't sure if his chest seemed narrower or his shoulders broader or some subtler design tweak in this one piece of art. Anyway I know where you're coming from, haha.

I'm sorry, but the only thing I can think of when I look at this picture is Optimus saying, "Fuck, I can't fit the matrix back in my chest! Halp!"
yakko
I figured he'd survive Dark Cybertron, but I hate spoilers. I prefer to be surprised by the books and try to avoid them like the plague. I wish this image had been linked rather than embedded.

Nah, I think Thundercracker needs to stay on Earth. His interest in organic life and human culture is a good part of his character. I really hope whoever writes the Earth stories doesn't just go "NOPE THUNDERCRACKER'S A BADGUY BECAUSE HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE!"
Thundershot
Hopefully it's just the 3rd book and not interfering with the current ones.

I'm one of 'those' people who has always felt Earth was important to Transformers (human scale, disguises, etc.) but RID and MTMTE proved that Transformers can work totally fine without any Earth involvement, without becoming like G1 Season 3.
However, I don't mind a return to Earth, especially if it will happen in a third book that will run next to the current two (or one of the current two, probably RID, going there while the other stays in space).
I get slightly pissed whenever people (however few) say that all current books should go back to Earth, so it's only fair I don't do the same in reverse: they can run alongside each other just fine. Let's get back to that galaxy-wide scope pre-AHM.
Besides, it will be interesting to see how Earth has moved on. Will they have evolved or are they stuck in a state of robo-paranoia? What's up with Thundercracker? \
As much as I like the character and his portrayal in IDW (one of the better things done by Costa – I just said something positive! Yay!), I don't want this to happen. A powerful Decepticon warrior that's walking the line between wanting to be honorable and being a pretty violent and arrogant asshole? Sounds like the Lost Light has got that covered with Cyclonus.

I must be the only one who is delighted at a return to Earth! Earth has been an intrinsic, and (for me) essential part of the mythos since the very first day of the franchise. When done well, stories set on Earth can be wonderful.
Would love for this to be a new (separate) ongoing, but we'll see where everything lies once DC has finished.
Shin Densetsu
I've only read a few issues of MTME, mainly whatever came with the IDW deluxe figures and the issue where Minimus Ambus' origin was revealed. Before that I had read Infiltration, Escalation(I think) and the 1st volumes of Costa's run on The Transformers(read volume 1 for sure, forgot if I read 2 and 3).
Someone here mentioned earlier that it would be good if no humans were in the story and I realized that's something that stuck out in MTME; it was enjoyable to me because it mainly focused on the TRANSFORMERS themselves without humans to get in the way! So yea I echo that, no more focus on humans if the Transformers return to Earth!

IDW,
Please bring Thundercracker aboard the Lost Light, by any means necessary.
Sincerely,
Me

They're coming back to Earth again? Eh.
Hellscream85
As long as we get Thundercracker back in these pages I'm all good with, in spite of how poorly written, and inconsistently drawn the "Costa years" were, Thundercracker quickly became a welcome sight to me in those books.
Pale Horse
Yes, the writers are smart enough to know that. But Hasbro just doesn't care…with a new movie coming they just want Optimus, hoomans, and Earth, the end.
The characters in MTMTE are human like enough that we no longer need humans to identify with these stories, and the history of Shadow Play and Chaos Theory created a world with enough political complexity that, again, there is absolutely no need to return to earth.
Hopefully this story is confined to one title. It can be nothing less than a regression back down the genetic ladder from everything we've loved in these books since January, 2012.
Autovolt 127
I wouldn't have a problem if they went back to Earth, if only for Thundercracker and Verity…and i guess some closure for Spike.
I'm pretty sure this is what Shane McCarthy will be working on.
Starscream NZ
Where was this 'Autobots Rising' tease? I seem to have missed it?
Dinobot Nuva
Probs the Autobots Rising series we saw teased before.
Coffee
I don't care if all of them are on earth now, as long as we have Rodimus and the gang doing their thing then I'll be perfectly happy.
