uhh wait, I thought Generation One vol 3 was coming out in February? and what is the WWI omnibus?

Don't know about G1 Volume 3. Regarding the WWI Omibus, I'm guessing it's likely a collection of all published War Within comics from the 3 (err....2 and a half) volumes.

G1 vol 3 is due in March, with the Beast Wars Omnibus.

The WW Omnibus is likely to be only the first 2 volumes. The Amazon description mentions "12 part series".

Who is Obominus? I don't remember him.

It's Tim Formas's addition to the G1 universe, he won a contest to create a new character back in 2004. Cool eh?

I thought Animated was going to continue past six issues? That's been my favorite read for a couple of months now!

Maybe the "Ation" series will get some resolution in the Maximum Dinobots

A few months ago, Furman said he knew people were not going to be happy with the way things turned out in Revelations (It was supposed to be a 6-issue series leading into The Expansion... until AHM was put into continuity). He hoped that one day he would be able to tell a modified version of what he originally planned, so until that day came, he would be keeping his cards close to his chest.

I believe after Maximum Dinobots he's off IDW's G1 series (which McCarthy has taken over) and will be instead writing The Thirteen and Revenge of the Fallen's adaptation.

A rather unceremonious dumping of one of the biggest contributors to the TF mythos. He has his faults, but you can't question his contribution. IDW are taking a BIG risk...

Man, I cannot. Freaking. WAIT. Until the movie miniseries...es.... come out. I loved Reign of Starscream so much.

Unfortunately, no, it was always planned to be a miniseries. That doesn't mean they won't do another miniseries later, though, since this first miniseries IS subtitled "The Arrival", after all.

The Swarm? Badass! I just read All Hail #4 and enjoyed it a lot, and it sounds as though the final act is going to kick into a higher gear if that thing is appearing.

"The crisis on Cybertron escalates as the Autobots are in a race for their lives against the Swarm! Could this be it? It's a pulse-pounding issue as the identity of the traitor is finally revealed and not all of the Autobots survive the experience."

Knowing McCarthy, "The Swarm" is a bunch of Insecticon clones. I'd be really surprised if he'd use anything "furmanesque".

Omnibus is a bummer. Darn Pat Lee, why won't he finally sell the rights of TWW vol. 3 to IDW? I WANT to know the end of that story! What happened to Prime? What were the Quints after? What about Flash? ARgh.

Are IDW's reprints of DW's Generation 1 Vol. 1 & 2 TPBs easy to come by on eBay or Amazon?

I think that after The Thirteen comes out I'm going to drop IDW like a rock.
They had such potential. So sad.

so...basically from reading this thread all the books ive bought and the storey thus far ( not that i was the hugest fan ) has been tossed out the window?

..........so i followed this storey and all the wierd cookies and bread crumbs why ? IDW...i mean seriously....this Ryall guy...anyone know what his buisness managment background is? lame blah puke chunder

Um... AHM 4's been out for a while. We get books at the same time as the States. And I quite like the book myself.

And no, they haven't really been "tossed out the window" persay. The stories are still written, they still exist. This is a "soft reboot" in that everything that came before has come before, but enough time has elapsed such that those events, to use a Furmanism, are "over - finished!"

IDW wanted a new direction for the books to try and boost sales. Time will tell how well AHM does.

Finally, as for the breadcrumbs - Furman's wrapping pretty much all of them up via Revelations (which was EXTREMELY truncated, sadly) and Maximum Dinobots (which should be plenty of space to handle the Machination plotline).

And don't forget the movieverse stuff they're doing - Chris Mowry really knows how to do a good job writing the movie universe. And the Reign of Starscream TPB they just put out is extremely well put together.

i havnt been following maximum dinobots cause i thought it was a UK thing....looks like ill be after some back issues if that takes care of the whole sunstreaker / scorpinok senerio....as well as im going to have to speak to my retailer as to where my AHM #4 is....freakin burritio eater......

the AHM story so far is awesome. I love the propoganda style covers and the artwork.
I'm really into the darker vibe direction that we're moving in with this story. I still get all the spotlights as soon as they come out. The only one I dont have is "Sixshot". They are all good--(some more than others) I really got into TF comics with dreamwave, but I have no complaints w/ IDW.

Its not over until there are no longer any Transformers comics being produced to drop!

I'd rather have AHM type stories than no Transformers stories at all.

And in my case at least, it's failed. I'll read The Thirteen, but after that, IDW are very unlikely to get another penny out of me; I hate the way they've basically ditched an entire story arc to make way for AHM (which I don't consider to be anywhere near as good).

If you've been reading the story by Simon Furman since 2005-2006, then yes, IDW has tossed that storyline out the window.

Don't believe what IDW said. Loads of people took IDW and Shane McCarthy on faith when they said All Hail Megatron would be in-continuity with Furman's stories, and now they're saying it's a "Soft Reboot" because those same people noticed all the inconsistencies.

If you like AHM for what it is, cool, then support it because you enjoy it. But don't simply buy it because they told you it's the continuation of that storyline you've been reading since 2006. It is a lie of marketing.

I'm sure that's true. But it's the Editorial Policies that bother me the most. Regardless I don't see any point to it if it means losing one set of customers for another.

Either way I'll still be off IDW by then.

I want to continue supporting the artists and the franchise, so I'll keep buying the single issues. But I'm done with stuff like TPBs, omnibusses and collections. Why buy the trade if the storyline was dropped? I won't be referencing back to it for old plot threads. And AHM trades, why spend on those when another reboot is just as likely?

I'll read these as I always have, one issue at a time. More the better if the story continues after the trade arc, but I know now not to expect it.
