TRANSFORMERS Movie Continues in Comics New miniseries launches in MarchSan Diego, CA (January 12, 2010) – The biggest movie of 2009 continues in IDW Publishing’s latest series based on Hasbro’s iconic TRANSFORMERS brand. Coming in March, TRANSFORMERS: Nefarious follows a shadowy organization, known as The Initiative, with devious designs on the TRANSFORMERS. Scripted by Simon Furman with art by Carlos Magno, this six-issue series takes fans on an action-packed mission as the robots in disguise fight to stop this unseen enemy.
“It’s time to move forward in the movie-verse and Furman and Magno are just the creators to do it,” said Andy Schmidt, IDW’s TRANSFORMERS editor. “Simon came up with a great idea and a fantastic story that Carlos is just hitting out of the park. I’m thrilled to be along for the ride and I’m sure fans will be too!”
Picking up just months after the end of the blockbuster movie’s storyline, TRANSFORMERS: Nefarious follows the all-seeing SOUNDWAVE as he leads the charge against The Initiative, and is joined by such fan-favorites as OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE and IRONHIDE. The threat is so great that all TRANSFORMERS must work together, forcing the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS to form a tentative alliance.
Veteran TRANSFORMERS writer Furman crafts this thrilling tale, while Magno draws suspense into every panel. Brian Rood will contribute gripping variant covers.
TRANSFORMERS: Nefarious #1 (of 6; $3.99, 32 page color) will be available in stores in March. Diamond order code JAN10 0963.Visit IDWPublishing.com to learn more about the company and its top-selling books.

Simon Furman is a good guy and all, but I'd much rather see him on the G1 stuff than movieverse. As for Carlos Magno, I hope that he ups his game from his previous work on the "Tales of the Fallen" stuff. It might have been the colouring, but I keep blaming Magno.
Ra88
So they have the perfect movie-comic team with Alex Milne and Mowry, yet they go for the two have proven themselves uncapable of handling the movie verse? Yeah, screw reading this.
Omega Charge
Hmmm… more on the mysterious power behind the scenes from the Ravage Tales of The Fallen issue…
Can't wait to read this. I loved Reign of Starscream, and this sounds even better. I'm intrigued.
NCStarscream
I'm game for it. I want to hear more about the Decepticons not named Soundwave, though.

An Alliance..hummmmmmmm..yeah, that will work out
But sounds interesting, I'll give it a look-see

I can easily agree with the Magno comment and second the Furman one on the movieverse as he's made some odd choices regarding the characters that have been "spotlighted". IE making Demolishor Sideswipes rival when Sideways would have been a more logical choice (especially after he gets his "vengeance" on him in ROTF, and how the Fallen's storyline had the core elements from ROTF taken away such as having the matrix taking him and the Prime's sealing it away.
Black Oracle
I'll be checking it out, even if i'm not expecting much from it. Can't really do too much with in-between movies series plot-wise.
Dinobot Nuva
QFT, I'm just interested to see what toy-only characters they tap into for this series.
OMEGAPRIME1983
Yea, sounds like the… Machinization (?) group from the ongoing. Iunno, maybe this will be different.
General Tekno
Honestly, though I'll pick this up, it sounds to me like Furman's basically adapting ideas he originally wanted to use in the ongoing for the Movieverse.
This Initiative sounds a bit much like a certain giant scorpion robot run organization.
Who knows? Maybe Scorponok's behind these guys in the movieverse as well.
Vangelus
Furman on the movieverse + Carlos Magno doesn't get my hopes up but I'll see when it comes out. :/
DecepticonSpike
Sounds like something I'd pick up.
Plus Soundwave = win!
SilverOptimus
I'm READY !!!
UltraMagnus3786
to you both!
It'll be good to have furman write a miniseries again, i'm interested to see where he takes it. would love to get 1 furmanism per book.
i hope magno picks up his game. i simply wasn't feeling much of his work in the tales of the fallen series, but if he kicks it up i'll be interested.
Tim Formas
A mix of Simon Furman and Tim Formas. First name Timon.
Recall
Who is this Forman?
I don't think you can ever have too much Soundwave so i'm very much looking forward to it.
