This appears to be a separate event from Botcon itself.
They're apparently asking $500. Granted, this includes a bunch of swag (that itself promises a single item worth $125), but I'm not sure how that price is justified.

Would love to go, but that's a little rich for my blood.

Elitism at it's finest.

cobra zartan
Not for me but I passed the info along to a friend who signed up.

I'm not really a fan of IDW but this sounds more interesting than anything Botcon has announced so far.

I wasn't sure which subject to put it under comics or sittings so I've chosen comics.

For all those who can attend please let us know how was the VIP tour and take pictures for us if you can.

As expensive as it is, I do think it would be worth it. But I'm not going to Botcon anyway so what do I know
StayingInTheBox
Im very tempted. I have my family with me this year though :-)
Dormamu
It'd be cheaper to get a job as an IDW janitor to get an invite.
edgs2099
Hell, I'm not interested in going to Botcon but this thing... This sounds neat with a capital \m/
videriant
Too rich for my blood but I thought the same think about the Golden Package last year. The cost may be needed to pay for the CEO's time. .

Isn't that elitism by definition? Or are we talking Elite elitism?
Dragonclaw
If I was going I'd be tempted, as it is I'd rather give IDW that money towards an exclusive cover for the shop and maybe have an artist or two here (I'm like the halfway point between Oregon and San Diego )
Bogatan
Strip out all the expensive merchandise/sketches and just give me the tour bits for around $200 and I'd be tempted, but $500 is just too much, which is a shame as it's by some distance the most interesting Botcon related offering so far this year.
backlash3906
....DAMN IT. The year I know there's no way I'm going. :-( it may be a bit pricey, but I would be all over this. Getting your name in a comic book is a special sort of thrill that can't be replicated.

Its kind of telling that Roberts and Milne aren't on the list.

At $500 a head, I am pretty sure they can afford to fly him over.

Milne lives in Canada, and Roberts lives in the U.K. I don't think either has the time to travel all the way to the IDW offices just to meet some fans on a tour of a building they don't actually work in.
Mechafire
LOL $500

Unless James Roberts teleports there and give me 20 BJs, pass

I don't think that is how this works. I'm pretty sure Roche and Roberts rarely appear in the states regardless of what goes on at whatever con is going on.

Is anyone really thinking about this IDW Tour ???

Milne was just at C2E2 in Chicago last month.

Roche has been in Chicago more than once in the last two years.

THIS is supposed to be a treat for fans of IDW's Transformers comics. Yet, they have no one to represent their most popular series, More Than Meets The Eye. Not mention no one from LSOTW, which is the prize for one of the 3 packages. Its totally crappy, especially at $500.
jessecuster
Even more importantly, SDCC is two weeks away from Botcon, don't you think they could have gotten their "stars" to attend two events, and bring more marketing to IDW?
VAwitch
Sorry, BotCon & IDW -

too little, too late - and too expensive.

I'm canceling my Primus set this week: thanks to sequestration, I'll be having 1 or 2 unpaid days per pay period until at least 30 Sept. Add in airfare, hotel, food & that ppl apparently don't want the toys (so no flipping for profit) and no GoH I'm that interested in = no go.

Pity they waited until today (6/5/13) to announce Gen. Morshower

*ahem*

Digilaut
'What's a colorist?'
Josh
I think it's a computer program that automatically fills in the pages with colors with no input or direction from a living person
Digilaut
Oh! Kind of like a letterer or inker!
Josh
