Looks nice, but it looks like Gundam RX-78, Transformers style. When I look at mid-section and face, I can't help but see the RX-78.

Also looks like most every character from the Drift mini.

Not a bad design, nothing Earth-shattering. Nice thinking outside of the box.

Could provide for some explanation as to why Thunderwing was called by the matrix. Perhaps Thunderwing was a direct descendant of Nominus.


...Then again, I don't know if Thunderwing has been connected to the matrix at all outside of g1.

Awesome as always from Alex. I like the jet mode being different from the land based vehicles of other Primes.

I showed that guy from the comic to a bunch of my friends and no one knew who he was.

Well with all the different series and comics I don't think we will ever get a true answer to the actual listing of who the first prime was down to Optimus. Awesome drawing though!!!

Nova was the Prime a REALLY, REALLY long time before Sentinel stepped up.

There was probably a line of Primes that came after Nova vanished.

He is Cybertron Starscream Transformation wise but very nice detailed.

Personally it's a style I'm not fond of seeing in the TF comics. And their helmets/faces tend to look really samey and I'm left wondering if it's a character I'm already supposed to know or someone new. As someone mentioned the Drift mini, that also left me wondering half the time one of these GundamFormers appeared.

Anyway, a Prime as a jet. It's okay. Nice artwork. Not sure why people are so surprised with the idea though.

I wouldn't mind a toy of that design, though the front of the jet mode reminds me of the Zords in Power Rangers RPM/Go-Onger, it only needs some pupils.

No, Nova was a long, long time ago in IDW, pre the beginning of the war, long enough ago that it had become legendary. We don't know how many Primes there were between Nova and Sentinal...

I dont know if this has been mentioned or not, but someone nees to compare Nominus vehicle mode with the concept art for Lithone characters (Arblus/Kranix) vehicle modes, anyone else notice a similarity??

I kinda like that there was a Prime that could fly, I don't have any problem that other Primes were land vehicles, but its nice to have variety once and awhile. Its ashamed of the story behind him though.

as nice as those drawerings (P.O.T.C reference) are...they look like they belong in the Drift comic.

too bad really. Alex is awesome drawing other folks designs, but when left to his own devices, he seems to draw clones of his own designs. all his faces look the same to me.

but whatever, he's still a really nice mech artist and right up there as one of my favs still.

Overall the design is good. It does seem to have a little bit of everything from Gundam to Power Ranger to Drift comic. I'm just laughing at the name, Nominus as in nominate. I think that name is a joke.
