New Transformers Trade Paperbacks for November 2013

Posted on 06-14-2013 at 05:42 PM by Sol Fury under Comics
800px-Transformers_28UK29_150 Amazon has listed some new preorders for IDW Transformers trade paperbacks, which are set for a release in November (and one in early December). The new volumes include:

Transformers Art of Prime, due November 5 and (presumably) an artbook covering the complete 68 episode run of Transformers Prime, from Darkness Rising to Predacons Rising.

Transformers More than Meets the Eye Volume 5, due 19 November and widely expected to contain the "Remain in Light" arc.

Transformers the Movie Collection Volume 2, due on 19 November. At just over 300 pages long, it will contain between 12 and 14 issues of the movie tie-in comics, most likely these will be the Revenge of the Fallen adaptation plus the Defiance and Alliance prequels.

Transformers Classics UK Volume 5, due on 3 December. No indication of which issues are included is given, but The Legacy of Unicron (Marvel UK 146-151) should be in this volume, given that the previous volume covered up as far as Marvel UK 145.

Details on these are sparse right now, but we will update when more information comes to light.

Transformers Regeneration One Issue Zero Announced

Posted on 06-04-2013 at 03:16 PM by Sol Fury under Comics
3031438-grimlock-tf-regeneration_one2386-edited News has reached us from the Twitter account of the 2D Comics Fest - the Northern Ireland Comics Festival held in Derry / Londonderry in Northern Ireland over the past weekend that Simon Furman will be penning an additional issue of Transformers Regeneration 1, a special "issue zero" complete with five pages of art by Transformers art legend Geoff Senior!

Simon Furman announces @IDWPublishing #transformers regeneration one issue 0 on panel at #2dcomicsfest five pages of art by @geoffsenior

Further information from the Transformers Regeneration 1 Facebook page suggests that this issue will take place and expand on scenes that will transpire in Regeneration 1 issue 94 - scenes and exposition that will echo throughout the rest of the series.

Geoff will be doing 5 pages of a special Zero issue. There are more artists to be announced...
It is a step sideways following some dramatic events of 94 with BIG implications for 95 and beyond... RG1 will still end at issue 100.
And no, there is no Wildman art in this one but a host of amazing Trans art legends

Livio Ramondelli on Transformers Monstrosity

Posted on 06-01-2013 at 03:13 AM by Sol Fury under Comics
Monstrosity4 Servoslag has posted an interesting interview with IDW artist Livio Ramondelli, regarding his work on Transformers Monstrosity and how it all fits into the wider mythology of Transformers that IDW is creating. There is also some talk of a possible third series to follow up this one, which it is suggested might be a full on war series if it happens.

Other key points revealed in the interview are how Monstrosity and Spotlight Shockwave reconcile with each other, how the Quintesson Pentius plays into the previous tease at the end of Spotlight Wheelie, and a tease of what to expect in the remainder of this digital-first series.

BeastHunters1 Did you pick up Transformers Prime Beast Hunters #1 today from IDW publishing? Did you have unanswered questions that you feel aren't likely to be answered in future issues? Well, why not ask the writer herself? Mairghread Scott, writer for the Transformers Prime Cartoon, IDW's Rage of The Dinobots and the new Beast Hunter's comic book, has started her own Q and A thread in our Transformers comics discussion forum. She's already been nice enough to take the time to answer a few questions, click on the title bar to read on!
