Damn! The legs do look bitchy to add on though. Just a question for the ones who have recieved him already: isn't it easier to start with his legs and then go with his arms?

Video reviews are ususlly so awesomely awful..I know they want to get on youtube first to get all the hits, but, you know just take a minute there to do it well.
By all means, communicate. That's why the mics on there. You're tapping and pointing at a piece..You could just mention it, narrate your actions.
Also figuring out how it actually goes before you do it, shaves probably about 90sec off that. Light. It helps.

As for the figure..I've got mine preordered, I can't wait for it. But that gun, yeesh. They should just come out and admit they ran out of things to do with those parts. That kinda ruins it. And I wish they'd have made the Magnus head/face a little bit more Magnus like. But all in all, for the price it is--particularly when compared to what happened with the Cliffjumper set, well, nicely done.

Is Fanprojects doing the Battle Rollar? If they are, and this is good, sign me up for that puppy.

The legs get easier to do over time, once the plastic becomes more seasoned. Normally, i just start with the legs, crotch, chest, and finally the arms/shoulders.

Indeed. Add the BFG and you can hardly pull off any poses. It keeps weighing the arm down and you need to support it with the knee.

Wait a sec!! For once we're going to have a full on Magnus,does this mean that Magnus will get a repaint into Powermaster Prime later on!

Check out www.fansproject.com, they did a repaint in diaclone colors for fun, which would go with Classics prime really nicely. They haven't said if they'll be making it or not.

Man from this video, the armor looks like such a pain in the ass I think I'd transform it only once and be done with it.

I just thought I'd comment on that most of us don't do it JUST to be the first. Yes, some people post whatever they can do first so they can get their claim to e-fame, but a lot of us just do the figures because we want to review them. I don't know, just my two cents.


I'm trying to keep myself from watching the video since I want to keep some surprises for this set much as I did with Animated and the Universe figures, but damnit BBTS... Hurry up on shipping my order. I want this set oh so badly.

Actually its quite fun to take apart/ assemble once you do it a few times.

I LOVE the Armor, but the guy doing the review talked too much. I could hardly keep myself focused on the video with all the blabbing going on.

They did say that this sample was just a one shot, just for the show. They said they aren't planning on releasing it, unfortunately.

I said this ages ago and people thought I was nuts, too much hype over this as its sooooooo over rated. it is being pushed so the fanboys go out and buy it more then anything.

Ooohhh, So it was a dress up upgrade kit. I thought that the package was a custom Ultra Magnus himself. XD He looks sorta ugly though. The face is just freaky.

all in all i think these guys did an awesome job considering they aren't licenced or anything so big ups to fansproject for a kick a$$ figure... if you don't like it don't buy it.. cuz us real fanboys will..... cant wait till bbts sends mine out ....hollah

This. I just got my Animated Magnus and am much more happy with him, than just having a dress TF. That and City Commander doesn't have the rack of Doom!

ive got animated mags and while i like him im still looking forward to this fansproject armor set..........we shall see

Are not most official Hasbro/Takara figures with a super mode, usually a parts former/dress-up? RID Prime, for super mode, you take apart the rear of his vehicle mode, do some slight transformations, then stick them on the main figure. Cybertron Optimus prime, same thing, separate some of the "trailer" parts, then put them on the main robot figure. This sounds the same as the City Commander kit, unless I'm overlooking something.

Pretty much the point I was going to make. It's an upgrade of the G1 character, that looks much cooler. What's wrong with this "dress-up" style of trailer attechment?

nothing if it does the job right... mags has always been primes twin and at least with this armor set he has his own style...i think its well done... mags needs his own identity..just like in g1

And to add to that, comparing FansProject's armor to the original G1 Magnus "armor", at least this one does look like armor. In the original the "inner" robot was just hanging on the back.
