Hobbylink Japan has updated their website with the notification that the Henkei Astrotrain and Trans Scanning Movie Bumblebee have been released in Japan.

Both of these figures are stated as low in stock on their respective for sale pages. The Henkei Astrotrain is listed at roughly $19.42 USD and the Trans Scanning Bumblebee is roughly $36.89 USD

The front page on Allspark says Astrotrain is listed as discontinued on HLJ but I clicked the link & it says "low stock". I doubt he's discontinued.

Aaargh, HLJ's preordering system is so annoying.
I've had Astrotrain on preorder for a while but still you have to make sure they ship it to you before it runs out of stock.

Grrr, I hope I was in time.

There's a few annoying things about HLJ.
1. Transformers toys are in 2 seperate sections.
2. I can't find Henkei Astrotrain listed unless I search for "Astro Train".
3. Items go "discontinued" too damn fast.
4. They have Encore listed in a bunch of different places instead of all together.

The listing said "Discontinued" when I wrote the article, which just means that HLJ doesn't expect more in. It now says Low Stock, so when they run out if they don't expect any more in it will say Discontinued, if they do expect more in it will say something like "July Restock" or "June Restock" etc.

Since I didn't get the original classics astrotrain I might pick this guy up.
I hope online stores still have him in stock when I decide to buy him.

It doesn't look like he has random chrome on him like the other henkei toys.
Am I missing something?

edit: oh I see it now, his thrusters are chrome purple, better then silver chrome I guess

I've been going back and forth on whether or not to get Astrotrain. I've pre-ordered and canceled my order at HLJ twice before! But now the conversion to USD is lower than the last time I tried, so I went for it. Would hate to not put that Classics gun to good use and all that.

I'm on the fence with this Astrotrain...I was going to replace my Hasbro classics version but ever since I got the TRU reissue and he's white as well I'm now kind of liking the white classics version...

Guess it will be a pass for now...

I'm actually focusing on completing my classics collection before getting repaints, although I prefer this color better, it would go rad with my original (although beat up) G1 Astrotrain.

I keep telling myself, "you will NOT get into Henkei." I went way overboard with Classics and really burnt myself out. But every new release sees me getting closer to caving.

Unless I am mistaken, it's cheaper to buy the figure through HLJ than it is BBTS, and that includes shipping costs.

Man, I really don't like the chrome purple on him.

Trans-scanning BB looks like crap in those pics, I don't like the head, not a good representation of movie 'Bee's head. I liked Prime better.

Thanks for the topic, I saw the listing at HLJ that was 'discountinued' a day or so ago! Didn't clicked on it, and wasn't tempted to buy it at other high price (like 25$+ shipping from BBTS). But now thanks to this topic I'm able to get him I think most Henkai so far are pretty 'meh', but this Astrotrain is the star of the bunch, it look awesome!

And just in time they also got early bird preorder for Encore Skywarp / Thundercracker, so I got it while I was there

It's not quite cheaper with shipping from HLJ than BBTS's price for the toy alone... it's US$0.84 more (at today's conversion rate).

It floors me that SAL shipping from Japan costs less than BBTS's cheapest available shipping.

My Astrotrain shipped from HLJ. It will get here sometime between 14-45 days. I really hope it's closer to 14.

From my experience...it's about 25 days

Since their based in japan, HJL has to fill a hole crate before they can ship it over seas. So depending on how many orders they get in determines how fast their shipping normally is.

I usually get my stuff in a week, sometimes even 3 days. But I go for EMS shipping.

I usually get my stuff in around 14 days. But there was one time it took 45 days.

I bought my Astrotrain yesterday, and unfortunately, Astrotrains suffer from shoddy paint apps, like much of Henkei Wave 1 did. I had to go through 8-10 different ones at the store before I found one that didn't suffer from slopping paint apps, chipped paint, or missed/unpainted corners.

Of course, once I got home and opened him, I found that he had a couple chips in his purple chrome. So don't expect to get a pristine Astrotrain unless you have uncanny luck. I wish Tak-Tomy would get on this kwality-kontrol issue.

Astrotrain does come with a new Manga so I'll try to get around to translating it sometime this weekend, if I can find the time.

Astrotrain and TSBB arrived for me yesterday from HLJ.

Haven't had a chance to open either of them due to suffering a cold, but I was impressed with Astrotrain's packaging. I've gotten a number of figures from Japan across various lines and each time their packaging is just so much better than Hasbro's version, and they haven't missed a beat this time either.

Great, I received an email from HLJ saying my Astrotrain was shipped... Only thing is that it got 'discontinued' while in my order (an according to their faq, as long I don't tell them to ship it (had other pre-order delaying the order), they go by priority for those that are ready to ship or something), and so I though I missed it and ordered one from BBTS and shipped it with my pile of loot... Guess the second Henkai will go into my temporary misb 'collection'
