 | | | Transformers Classics Ultra Magnus Upgrade Set | | Posted on 02-01-2008 at 01:37 PM by Razerwire | An image of what appears to be Classics Ultra Magnus with a custom upgrade kit has been posted TFClub, an Asian image board.
While the image is blurred, the teaser is detailed enough to see Classics Ultra Magnus' arm kibble and the interior of his legs.
This set will most likely be in limited production much like the Classics Cliffjumper set that was made. Click discuss to join in on the discussion!

A blurry teaser pic in the 2nd post!!!! STAFF EDIT Due to several reports of malware notifications from the website, we have disabled the image and mirrored the picture in question at TFW2005.
Dirge121:
Whoah. Looks pretty neat.
MegaHavok:
Going off the price of the cliffjumper upgrade that should retail for about $500
Robogeek28:
Yet another great idea not mass released and that only rich folks will be able to afford.....
WONDERFUL! Fort Max:
Cool and nicely done but going to cost a bomb without doubt.
I'll just have to console myself with Aniamted Ultra Magnus,... soon-ish.
Thunderthruster:
not what i'd call a clear picture! i think i'd need more convincing to want to buy it!
Ramrider:
Intriguing, certainly. It looks pretty darn bulky, but without losing much articulation. But as TT said, you can't really see a lot from that, except that it doesn't seem to involve much transforming of the robot mode. That kinda makes for odd proportion once he's all bulked out, surely. And I wonder if it transforms (although I'm assuming it does).
Well, it's probably gonna cost a bomb, but I'm making my own anyway.
Ravenxl7:
That looks pretty cool. Too bad it's going to be expensive and I don't have a Classics Ultra Magnus. I'll more than likely be happy enough with the Animated Ultra Magnus that we'll be getting.
Sammael:
Is that an actual transforming Victory Saber or one of the "action masters?" Which line is it from?
Golden Age:
That movie toy looks so much better than the official release. Funny what a nice paint job, hands, and a face can do for a toy.
Drake:
Be careful clicking on that link. My AVG just popped with the TrojanClicker.KYV virus when I tried to open the link. It was a file named a.exe in the windows\system32 folder.
Anti Spark:
OMG OMG OMG!!!
MUST Have!

WHOA. not trying to give anyone a virus. I found that info on the Allspark. Wasn't sure if i could post the pic or not, so I just posted the link!
Glitcher:
Too blurry to pass judgement. But for those who don't think will be able to afford it, don't despair. We're due to get Classics 2.0 Magnus some time. ^_^
Sammael:
TFClub is listed on Google as a known malware site. However, I didn't receive any warnings from either Firefox or my AV software when I opened the page. Were you using Internet Explorer, by any chance?

We're due to get Classics 2.0 Magnus some time. ^_^ | As he hasn't been mentioned for the line as of yet, I wouldn't put any hope in that happening. As we're going to be getting a good Ultra Magnus in the Animated line, that there puts him out of the running for at least this first set of Universe figures. Also, Hasbro has said that they won't be doing any more trailers for TF's, as it's not cost effective. While this could change in the future, I think it'll stay this way for a good while.
Soundwarp:
To quote Erick Cartman "Kick Ass"
Liokaiser:
From what I can see from the picture, it looks very nice. I would purchase a kit if it was affordable.
unicron's blues:
Interesting, I hope some better pics turn up in the not to distant future.
Crobot91:
It'd be nice if Masterpiece Magnus could get the same treatment at an affordable price... wishful thinking on my part, lol.
Zie:
Is that going to be an actual kit though or is it just a custom like the Blades that was shown?
If it's a kit, only two things will convince me to buy it. A decent price tag and if it will be able to turn into a trailer or not. Because if it does then WHOOOO BOY I'll be all over that like white on rice.
My Classics Magnus has been gettin kinda chilly sittin around naked all the time...
Fit For natalie:
Perhaps one of the moderators should place both a warning and mirror the image?

Counterpunch?:
What's with all these polluted link custom sites?
twichyy:
hopefully someone will make a knock off version.
Tech Spec:
Next kit will be Apex Armor for Classics Prime.... too bad the Ultra Magnus kit will be a hard one to get too.
Socialvegetable:
The feet look a lot like classics bumblebee or cliffjumper's. The forearms remind me of Titanium RID Prime, only scaled up.
MetroBoy:
AWWWWWW..... DAMN IT! That is SwEET! He's a little bulky, but the spirit is still there.
I'm with whoever said let's all chip in and buy one, and get an awsome bootlegger to produce 'em for $20.00 a pop!
SonRay:
Thats the stupidest preview pic ever, but from what i can see it will look awesome. Probably gonna cost a bomb and thus wont be worth it but at least people will then be able to copy this design and make their own more easily with this as a template to guide them.
protostar8:
Wow, I gues that's gonna be expensive if the minor upgrades for Cliffjumper cost $30. Very cool though!
Constructicon_BC:
Seen it with high res pics from a local dealer. Looks really cool in good quality pics. Preordered mine. Most of you are right, it aint cheap for the kit. They are planning to do one for Classics Prime too.

Ruination04:
Meh...I just repainted mine to look like G1 Magnus. I just need a new head for it.....
Tekkaman Blade:
where would you pre-order either of these kits?

That's what I want to know, too.

Venksta:
I've seen the hi-res pics too, like the two others who posted here. The price won't be high, its actually going to be lower than I expected. A 10th of $500. But that doesn't factor it going on ebay. It also won't be limited as the Cliffjumper set. There will be enough for anyone that wants one. By the way, the pictures are over a month old.

I don't really think it'd be too big of an issue considering the company making them probably has no rights over the products since they aren't official, but it just kinda seems wrong (although I'd definitely buy the cheapest one). I'll just hope these guys don't go over $30 b/c it's UBER MEGA ridiculous to pay more for an upgrade set than the actual figure, so $30 is already pretty pricey. But if they really want $50 for them, then I hope a bootlegger bootlegs these things too.

Investors for these Classics upgrade kits are based in Canada....

Investors for these Classics upgrade kits are based in Canada.... | Well that's not what I like to hear. lol. Eh, guess I'll be paitient.
I find it weird though that they would make a kit for Cliffjumper before Magnus, the demand for a somewhat accurate Classics UM must be higher than that of a tricked out Cliffjumper. I guess they might have been testing the waters with CJ's upgrade, to see if their product would sell?
