I'm less psyched for the GT-R now since 1)it's not really Binaltech, 2) it's going to be Convoy yet again and 3) it has the tired old hood as chest, doors as wings, rear as feet transformation scheme.

Yea, I think that is Ratchet next to Ironhide don't know who the Alternator is but does not look all that appealing to me.

The deluxe sized Alternity bot interests me, but why does he have a Binaltech price tag at BBTS? Anyway I preordered him to go with my Classics/Universe bots.

Powerglide's deco has just made me decide which version of him I'll be getting, he's absolutely gorgeous!!

Is it just me, or is the GT-R smaller than previous Binaltech/Alternator toys? Looking at the one picture, his head isn't much higher than Movie Bumblebee's.

Well after seeing the other threads it is a bit of a bummer the GT-R is another convoy, i wonder what the rest of this new line is going to be like?

Ahh, that makes sense... the Alternity line must be the smaller "deluxe-sized Binaltechs" that were rumored a while back. Interesting. I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand I was looking forward to having more BT's in new molds. On the other hand, it looks like these could be shoehorned into either the movie or universe lines. I like the bulky aesthetic of it, it will be interesting to see what the deal is with this line.

Powerglide is really just a mirror image of the U.S. version, eh? Red with white highlights instead of the other way around. Well, it's a no-brainer that I'll get them both, though I think I would prefer the Takara version in a deeper shade of red and without the white striping.

Pleased to see all that chrome on Sunstreaker's spoiler and intakes, that looks great.

MP Thundercracker looks beautiful.

So Transformers Alternity sounds interesting, but 4700 yen for a Deluxe is pricy. Given the exchange rate, it be $45....wow. I can understand the price for a voyager-sized Binaltech, but not a deluxe-sized one.

Masterpiece Thundercracker looks awesome. Can't wait for November.

Universe Henkei looks good. Can't wait to get them, but I fear Ultras will be quite expensive.

Since it's not Binaltech but a new line, I would have rather they made it Bluestreak since it already follows the classic transformation scheme of the Datsun bros and the signature/showroom color of the GT-R would have fit nicely as well. Alas, Convoy is a guaranteed seller so that is what we're going to get from TakaraTomy.

Henkei Sunstreaker is looking sharp with the chrome and deep yellow paint job.

Why would they do that though seeing as how there's a Henkei version?

I swear I never was a fan of the chrome but lookign at those henkei pics, the chrome works really well with Prowl and sunstreaker, although the chrome guns is a bit much. That ALterny thing looks cool, so is he like a small binaltech or something?

Damn it all. I thought it was odd at first when the GT-R went up for a lower than expected pre-order.

Maybe I'll keep the red preorder, just because it DOES look pretty slick, but I'm disappointed that it's not a proper BT. Disappointed!

Well, the only thing that interests me is Thundercracker. WANT!

1) Is anyone sure the exact scale of "Alternity?"
2) Is that name a deliberate play on the American "Alternators?" Seems unlikely.
3) Is this line planned to jive with the already kinda fanwankish Binaltech continuity? I'd love to see how they write in that shortly after Arcee showed up, Convoy suddenly turned into a Nissan and got really short. We're talking about a storyline so gratuitous it won't even let VARIANTS go without convoluted in-universe explanations, after all.

Looking forward to Thundercracker-- we can all have our 4-seeker set, and they can move on to something new.

Thundercracker is just as beautiful as I hoped he would be.

That MP Thundercracker is gorgeous, but the Henkei don't interest me. Looks like I'll be sticking with Universe.

The GTR is awfully tempting also.

MP-07: looks better then expected, really nice actually

Henkai: why oh why do they ruin cars by chroming the spoilers??? it looked ridiculous on Mirage and it looks ridiculous here. all they'd have to have done is chromed the Wheels and guns and Sunstreakers intake and i'd be all over these, but since there's no discernible paint mask difference i'll go Hasbro (and get a can of clearcoat). Powerglide and Silverbolt look pretty damn spectacular though... (better not muck it up with ill-placed chrome!!!)

Alternity: Abolutely beautiful looking mold, kinda Binaltech meets Movie, but Convoy? Really? was that necessary? if it was a different character it'd slot into Classics nicely (although $35/40 is steep for a deluxe...), but with Convoy's distinctive noggin'... hopefully though the future of this line could give us some characters Hasbro seems less-inclined to do like Trailbreaker and they won't rehash other already-done Classics characters, because it really could be a nicely complimentary line...

I'm going to cancel the Galvatron Pre-order since he pretty much looks the same but damn the other ones are hot.

Are these Henkei only releases or are they US Classics?

Is that Alternity prototype shown supposed to be Convoy? Looks more like Mach Alert from Car Robots/ Prowl from Robots in Disguise to me. I'd be happier if he's named and painted as such, it'd be an interesting change from the usual G1 homages.

Even with the semi-blurry pics, that TC looks pretty smexy.

Red Powerglide is a definate buy. I was on the fence before but due to the recent video of the white one turning me off and the overwhelming awesomeness of the red one turning me on...yea, he's gonna be red.

The Alternity thing looks pretty damn cool too, deluxe scaled alts would fit in very well with the rest of my bots. This may even give us a round-a-bout way of getting Classic Jazz and Arcee. And who knows, maybe they'll throw other alt modes in as well with this line.

Not sure what to think about the Alternity car. I like the mold, but I've always liked the classic Datsun look (ie. the front of the car becomes the chest). I just wish they didn't go with Convoy again. Smokescreen would've been a nice surprise (for me anyway ). Can't wait to see him in color.

I like Henkei Sunstreaker, Powerglide,Onslaught, and Silverbolt. Prowl and the rest don't look like they have any significent changes from their Universe counterparts, and the chrome weapon for Prowl is especially bad, so that's an easy pass there.
I wonder if Ironhide is a different shade of red than the Universe one, because so far all the photos of him have been a sort of light, pinkish-shade of red, but this one seems darker. Deep red over light red would be a deciding factor in my choosing the Universe or the Henkei version.

Also, Meh on the MP and BT/Alt figures. Though the smaller-sized Alt would interest me if it didn't look like YET ANOTHET CONVOY.

With a red and a silver pair of GT-Rs being done, I'm thinking this "Alternity" line will be just like the Shoe line... one Optimus, one Megatron, same mold, high price, and then done with the exception of maybe a magnus repaint. For obsessive collectors only.

Kiss any chances of trailbreakers or rarer figures in that line goodbye, too. Convoy sells in japan, that's why he's every-other-toy and always the headliner in a one-off toyline such as these.

It's sad to think that the BT line may truly be dead. A die cast mirage would be so nice.

I'm definitely getting Henkei Powerglide, but I'm still perfectly happy to get the domestic releases for the rest of the Classics lineup. Unless Hasbro decides not to release Ratchet because of that retarded 'No characters in Classics that are in Animated' "rule".

Dollars to doughnuts they'll be the same mold with a different head, and they'll probably be the only two in the entire line that we get, just like the Nike Free versions.

I'm really digging that Nissan. Shame he's not 1:24, but deluxe size (1:32 maybe?) looks like it's cutting the cost in half. $40 instead of $80 is a lot easier to swallow for a rockin' licensed import Transformer.

I love how the middle section of the hood is removed for robot mode. Hood-as-chest always gave Alternators shoulders that were way too far apart. In this case, the dramatic shortening of the chest width really makes the 'bot look great and puts the shoulders in a better position.

Looks like I'll wait until the Henkei versions are released.

Regarding all this Alternity=Not BT talk, I think it's worth pointing out that "The Alternity" was the name of the harmonious multiversal one-ness that the Binaltech Transformers were supposed to result in the creation of, according to Ichikawa's BT storyline. Hmm.

The points on the tail fins are sharper and thinner on the Takara version. Aside from that the difference is the price.

Okay, red Powerglide is definitely a must-have. My iffy-ness on the mold isn't going to make me break my goal of collecting all the Classics molds (and he's looking a lot better than Galvatron is these days). The color of the Hasbro version didn't work for me, but the Henkei one fixes that beautifully (and without a lot of that tacky chrome that ruined Megatron and Grimlock).

No idea what to think of the GTR figure. It looks okay, but I do agree that if it's meant to be something like an Alternator/BT, it's picked the most overdone and boring transformation scheme possible. I like the head sculpt, though. Reminds me a lot of RiD Prime. Might pick it up if it gets a US release.

MP-07? Yawn. I haven't bought any of the MP Seekers and this one isn't going to change that. Honestly, I don't really care what the MP line does until it gives me a Rodimus. Then, and only then, will I get a second one to stand next to Optimus (or break next to him, if the MP line's trend towards overly fragile designs continues).

So, we know when the Japanese are getting Streak/Lambor/Ironhide/Rachet.

However, when are we getting them?

The chrome on the universe figures is looking really good. Very tempting to pass on their American cousins (but seeing as I have no self control, I will probably get both).
