There Will be TWO Transformers Henkei Exclusive Starscream Repaints attachment
In an update to our report late last week, it's been pointed out by our own Ricochet that the exclusive Henkei Starscream repaints from Toy Hobby Market and Ganbo will actually be two different toys! We will receive more info on the decoes on these two exclusives next month in the stores' respective magazines.

Will they be Starscream's Ghost and Sunstorm? Action Master Thundercracker and Skywarp? The G1 cartoon rainmakers? We'll keep you posted!

Ricochet:
ah, I noticed a misunderstanding about this topic right now.
this exclusive is NOT ONE item that will be sold at both stores.
EACH store will have EACH exclusive item. so number of exclusive item are TWO.

GENOZAUR:
    my guess is it's sunstorm
ShadowStitch:
I agree with some of the people here in predicting Skywarp.

Given the tendency for Henkei! to be slight repaints of existing classics molds and colors, I'd put my money on existing figures before obscure or custom jobs. If wishes were fishes, we'd get Thundercracker, but I just don't see that happening. Not anytime soon anyways. If there are two exclusives, MAYBE.

In any case, it's like Alien Vs. Predator: whoever it is, we all lose. It's a Japanese store exclusive, which always means taking a significant hit to the wallet, either through ebay scalpers or scalpers masquerading as online import toy stores... It's gonna hurt any way you slice it.

Which is why I kinda hope it IS Skywarp. So I can avoid having to buy 'em.
Ecmagee1984:
    Sunstorm
Thundershot:
    Two exclusive items?

    Skywarp and Thundercracker, most likely.

At least I hope it's not Sunstorm, because I don't want to deal with the hassles and expense of finding it.

Half price? Out of curiosity, how much is that in $? If it's affordable I'll buy it...

The deal with the Botcon set is, guys like me who live in Central Europe and don't have a chance to go to Botcon could only get it through scalpers and Ebay... you can guess the prices. And unlike USA citizens, my salary as a biologist here in my country doesn't pay me enough to be able to afford that much for these very cool toys (truly Classics is the best series since G1 IMHO...) - I'm happy if I can afford to spend 50$ a month on TFs, sometimes more if I manage to sell some european exclusive I find here for a good price (like the above-mentioned AM Thundercracker, brrr those colors give even me the creeps and I've found that toy quite often).

In the past Botcon sets were easily avoidable by me as I never cared for some crappy newcomer repaints like Apelinq or Primal Prime or whatnot... But I think Hasbro really missed the cue with the seekers. It's not true that the general public wouldn't have bought TC/Thrust/Dirge if released mass-produced. Just look at how Hasbro managed to sell the Armada seeker mold 5 times (Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Universe Ramjet, KB exlusive Screamer) or then there's the Titanium seeker mold, also repainted 3 times. And Cybertron Skywarp seems to be off the shelves sooner then Unicron he was released together with...

Thus I really hope that Takara will release all the seekers, however unlikely that is. (especially with Thrust)

It's a Henkei exclusive, which means... it's a Henkei figure, and an exclusive. You're over-analyzing the ridiculously small amount of information we currently have.

What's FP, to begin with? Besides, as I said above, it's mostly a money issue. And I recon that's pretty much everyone else's problem.

Because, it's pretty much like getting a japanese G1 Dinocasette (Graphy, Noise, etc...) I know from a very reliable source you can get these MIB for around 40$ in Japan in certain stores... But the Japanese simply don't sell them or anything else on the US Ebay. So you'd have to go to Japan to pick them up (costing a helluwa lot of money on plane tickets and hotels). Or you can buy it on Ebay from a lucky guy who spent a year in Japan and bought up all the japanese exclusives he could find...

Same with this set, I remember reading the TFW2005 headlines that they were pretty much sold out not soon after Botcon even began... So getting your hands on one would require being there and being very lucky (or getting an online reservation before, again I doubt I'd have made it in the line).

If Heinkei doesn't release the seekers, then I guess the Botcon seekers will too go up to my "to buy when I'm a millionaire" list along with the Dinocasettes, the Takara Headmaster Heads and Minerva...

Seriously, I remember seeing AM TC in 1991 in the toystores and wondering about the mental states of the toy color designers even as a kid.

Or why Scorponok is now Double Punch and why Omega is only 'Spreem' not Supreme...

Oh those wacky hippy years, when TFs wore neon and GI Joe Toxic Troopers had the colors of the rainbow...
Robogeek28:
    Damn I hope it's Sunstorm!!

Of course generic Seekers would be cool also, either way, I'm buying them!

Bah, gimme the Action Master Thundercracker Robot Hero exclusive variant instead.

I'm sure there's a way to modify the original AM colors into something crazy but palatable for a wider audience. Just don't ask me how to actually do that...
Hiro Prime:
I'll hope for a G1 acurate Skywarp to go with my Henkie Starscream and BC Thundercracker. If Henkei does give us a G1 colored Ramjet, the circle will be complete and I'll have one kick-ass display.

Sunstorm would be cool too, but I'm thinking that may be the draw figure for the clone set.

personally, I'd be most happy if it was Ghost starscream, as that's not something anyone can take and make themselves. Only guys with a good deal of money and the know-how to casting could. At least with the others, there's a lot larger number of people who can repaint existing ones into the other paint schemes, or swap wings even.
butz:
I kinda hope it's a generic seeker (like from MMtE) but the exclusive status worries me that it'll cost an arm and leg to get him
Spiderus Prime:
    Thundercracker or Sunstorm?
razorchrist:
I personally think Skywarp will make it into the mainline release since he was more or less released that way over here, so if that does happen, this could very well end up being Thundercracker considering the outcry for that character. But there's no way I see them making Skywarp an exclusive.

I personally hope it's Sunstorm, but I won't be surprised if it's something lame like a Ghost of Starscream since Japan likes to make clear versions of everything.
sunlink:
    Two Words: Vardia Starscream!

Omnibus Prime:
Sunstorm, Limestorm, Purple Drone, Anime Skywarp, Anime Thundercracker, Ghost Starscream...

I could try and pick faves/preferences there, but honestly..there's a 99% chance it's as good as bought no matter which it is.

That 1% reserved in case it is Action Master TC. *shudder*
giga-galvatron:
    If its Sunstorm, Im coppin!
Basketball Jones:
The Action Master color scheme works, somehow, although I DID grow up with G2.

Since the generic seekers have stripes very similar to Thundercracker's, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to call one of them Thundercracker.

If it is gonna be two different retailers with different exclusives, it has got to be SW and TC. Sunstorm doesn't have an equally popular alternative to balance him... unless it is Sunstorm and Ghost-o-scream.

Or Yellowy and Greenie... I would like to see greenie in seeker form.

i would vote for a skywarp or thunderchicken,

My money was on Sunstorm, butv now I'd bet even on it being Starscream's ghost.
B-Fox:
    Interesting.
I hope these can be easily acquired from sources other than ebay if they're generic Seekers like Sunstorm, Purple Nurple, Not-Thundercracker, or the Rainmakers Limey, Headcheese, and Berry.
If they're slightly-different versions of Skywarp and Thundercracker, then no skin off my nose. I already have the EEEEEEEEEVIL Botcon TC and the Target Skywap.
Autovolt 127:
    I say it's Skywarp.
cappeca:
I hope it's not Masterpiece green Starscream.
Obvious Prime:
You know who I'd REALLY like this to be? Hellbat and/or Gaihawk. I luffs me some Leokaiser.
KING KONVOY:
    My hopes

    1. Sunstorm (Must have!)

    2. Ghost Starscream though I'm not sure I'd purchase it.
airfox:
The only way I'd buy if it's Thundercracker or Skywarp is if it's better than the already released versions. If it's Skywarp with chrome wings, I'll pass.

No, it will be another chapter in the saga... It will be limited, hard to get and Ebay for 100$+. The same exact reasons people skipped Botcon seekers will come up again. They believe they are entitled to these figures at 9.99$ retail and will demand it in classics 2.0 opposed to picking up the exclusives at elevated costs or eBay speculator costs.

And then time will pass, the exclusive TC will leave the shelves and find homes and people will again be cursing how classics TC is not available to the COMMON MAN.

Like that Shortpacked comic... they will be on their death bed 50 years from now cursing Hasbro.

Leozack could work, too. That Black and Gold Screamer would be cool. So would Sunstorm and the Purple flamethrower dude. And Thundercracker.
Cloudraker:
I want starscreams ghost. Please. I like clear plastic transformers.
This mold is just screaming for it!
grock35:
there are so many options for the seeker exclusive...i won't mind sunstorm, ghost starscream, black starscream, nebulus (lime green seeker), generic purple seeker, grey seeker clone, or even mp color starscream...as long as it's something we haven't gotten before with the mold
Insane Galvatron:
I hope it's NOT Thundercracker. I'm trying to sell my boxed set of seekers and I don't want the demand to drop. Cause that will mean dropped price.

Do you ever stop? I mean, damn, not one person here is bitching in any way and you're still taking your snipes at people. You're getting to be as bad as those you're complaining about. (bolded for emphasis)

    Yikes.

I'd sure like the 07 seekers myself since I missed out on BotCon last year (and IF I could find a set for under $350 I'd jump at the chance). If any of them become available in any other way that would save me some green - great! Ebay prices freak me out sometimes.

I'm happy that I get to go this year and get the set. If variations of them become available in a year or two elsewhere, and it makes someone else happy to have the figures, I can't see how that would be a bad thing. I'm pretty new around here so I don't think I have much right to say anything, but the 07 seekers seem to spark VERY frequent arguments in various threads. It also seems like two of the major argument points are resale value and the especially negative "look what I have that you don't". Now, I'm not saying that collecting as an investment is wrong, but the nyeah-nyeah attitude is pretty weak.

...Y'know. I'm not even sure where I'm going with this. Enjoy the hobby, just please, try not to be a douche.

As for the topic. I'd like to add to my Starscream's Ghost hopes with the afore mentioned Leader-1 idea. Very creative!

Agreed. I own a botcon Thuindercracker, and I even payed the inflated eBay price for him. And I STILL hope this may be a Thundercracker. It's a cool toy and it won't bother me in the least if more people get a chance to own him. I don't use exclusive TOYS as a status symbol. I tried seducing the ladies with my botcon exclusive Thundercracker and MISB rare Alt Swerve, but it didn't work.
If not him, I'd prefer a Sunstorm over ghost Starscream. I like to display my Classics in a group, and having a Ghost Starscream next to a regular Starscream would just be weird. But if it is ghost SS, I won't complain one bit.

Eh, it sparks a lot of arguements because there are a lot of people whom did nothing but whine about how Hasbro and Fun Publications screwed everyone by making the last three Seekers Botcon Exclusive. Frankly, at the time Hasbro didn't have plans to continue the Classics line and that's why it happened. Still there's a lot of people whom are either still angry or bitter about this and take any chance to complain that they can and it does get rather old. Not people whom see something like this and say 'Hey, hope it's Thundercracker so I can get one a little cheaper than the Botcon one', but the people whom (and admitedly this thread has thus far been free of this except for one individual) start raving about how it's unfare that Thundercracker, Ramjet and Dirge were given to Botcon... when in reality this topic really isn't about that. But, it does seem to be happening less and less lately.

As for myself, I've got the Botcon Seekers and I'd still be cool with them being released through some other means. They could do Thundercracker differently enough so that it isn't the exact same figure and I'm sure that any Thrust or Dirge done by Takara wouldn't have the remolded parts, but would simply be straight repaints of Ramjet. And, I don't think it would change the exclusive nature of the ones that I have as long as they were different enough and it could make some other people whom can't afford/just won't pay the eBay prices (which are insanely high for pieces of plastic even if they're Botcon exclusives... but demand dictats the price so that means the fans are a little insane in my opinion ).

Still, for some this does bring up a lot of negative feelings.
