New Shadow Commander Remolded Head Image

Might be because Hasbro's still selling Nemesis Prime, so they want to launch Shadow Commander before Nemesis sells out, so you don't have to buy it on ebay for a large sum, like with Magnus.

Looks okay, but for what they're charging I would've liked to seen the head antenna things get remolded as well, instead of just simply painting them black. The eyes need to be red though, and I hope they paint the inside of the head crest teal too, for the complete Nemesis Prime look.

Because just like Hasbro we are going to get 8 million repaints of this till the mold explodes! The UM was cool, and a Powered Convoy makes sense but this one to me makes no sense at all as I have said before. if it was a Nem OP trailer fine, but a Nem UM trailer that goes on a Nem OP I think is stupid and does not fit well for this figure. big deal it has a sword, clip on face and limited to less numbers the the city comander blah blah blah blah! these are just things to try and justify it to fanboys. Wait till we hear about the crystal clear version for $189.99 limited to half the numbers of Shadow commander,

I don't think the head has been painted yet. The painted images showed the head in the blue color used for Nemesis Prime's head, the head crest's teal, and the eyes are red.

Yeah, I'm aware of the Powered Convoy mockup, but even then it doesn't necessitate retooling the head since Powered Convoy never had a faceplate in the armored mode. Since Powered Convoy is one of my favorite toys, I'm a bit particular about things like this (especially if it means paying extra money should I be able to get one). For me, it would be like giving Ultra Magnus a faceplate (especially since our Ultra Magnus could have been in Powered Convoy colors given the early animation sequences of TF:TM).

Some sort of exclusive deal with BBTS, which is what FansProject told me originally. I need to see whats the deal now, since TFSource has put up preorders.

If that's the case then it's pry a GOOD thing TFSource has them up as well. Had this been a BBTS exclusive I can just imagine what they would've charged for it.

Actually, BBTS is charging what they want. There is no set price on this, like City Commander had.

1. Is giving Magnus a faceplate any worse than giving Prime a mouth?
Besides, this isn't Magnus. It's meant to be a different character.

2. Primes, as well as their super-modes, have mouthplates (most, anyway).
Fansproject just wanted to do something to differentiate the two.
Nemesis Prime isn't turning into Nemesis Magnus. The mouthplate proves it's just his super-mode.
And let's face it, Nemesis Prime turning into Nemesis Magnus is pretty confusing in it's own right.

3. We don't even know yet if the faceplate is retractable.

I've been thinking of it as Shattered Glass Magnus, City Destroyer.

What I find funny is that just because this is a repaint of the City Commander armor, people automatically think its an evil Ultra Magnus. If your name is Steve, and you go put on an Adidas tshirt, your name is still Steve. It doesn't become Adidas. Thats the same case with this armor/trailer. Think of the name as the brand or something. So Shadow Commander Trailer. When Nemesis Prime puts it on, he is still big bad Nemesis Prime.

That would be te most unbelievablly awsome thing Fans Project could do. My wife bought me SDCC Nemesis Prime for my birthday and this set is my Christmas present.

I can confirm that Shadow Commander will come with two swappable faces. The original mouth face, and the new faceplate remold.

It's good to know we have the option. For me though, I'll use the face plate. I've always prefered the faceplate over a bot having a mouth.

My comments are directed toward Powered Convoy, not Shadow Commander or Nemesis Prime, just to be clear. I've already said that Powered Convoy is a favorite of mine. That being said, I like to see him treated (and not treated) in certain ways.

Just for practical reasons (we got a repaint of Powered Convoy for US Ultra Mangus in G1), then he is only by necessity. For me, giving Powered Convoy a mouth is like giving Prime a mouth (which I've never liked).
[*]The different face is fine for Nemesis Prime. Powered Convoy is not a Prime, however. As far as Shadow Commander goes, for me it's just Nemesis Prime with armor. That's not really confusing to me.

You know, this makes me wonder what FansProject would do should they choose to make a Powered Convoy figure.

Odds are this figure would have the switchable faceplate. However, given that Shadow Commander recieved the new sword, the question thus exists - would a Powered Commander have any other accessories to make it more desirable?

Currently the only thing I can think of, which would make it completely awesome, would be a remold on the chestplate to accomodate an included Matrix. Odds are this isn't practical for them, but it would be awesome.

I feel the mold is far too unique and special for me to own multiple recolors of it.

Owning any more than UM would just make it less special IMO - not that the black repaint isn't cool as hell.

I am and I'll tell you why.......FansProject has very literaly done my 2 favorite characters with a great origanality. Ultra Magnus and now Shadow Commander/Nemesis Prime. I'm a sucker for them.

I hope that they deside to change the sowrd to red like RID Scourge's. I also see that the head is black, I hope it stays that way although it looks like it's just an unpainted prototype.

Those pictures have been up on FansProject's site for over a month.

And for those that haven't noticed, the sword has two different shades on it. The outer edge of the blade is lighter then the inner piece.


And if anyone feels like making their own color scheme up for City Commander, here are two lineart renders perfect for the job. I've had some people ask me for something like this, so I thought I'd share them with everyone.

I love to see some people add color to those line art pics. Rodimus, Jazz, and Megatron colors would be sweet to just look at. Maybe even is the trailer was mostly grey and it was added to Prime but not the Powered Convoy style

Or even an accurate looking Powered Convoy coloring job would be cool. Since FansProject designed the colors for the testshot around the Optimus Prime toy, it would be interesting to see what the trailer would look like if there was a blue and black cab, just like the original Powered Convoy.
