New Images Of City Commander Upgrade Set For Classics Ultra Magnus

i rarely regret selling any toy but now i do regret selling my magnus set! hes a neat figure but i felt he was a bit 'bitty' esp round the back, but this armour works so very, very well.

Those pics from Seibertron confirm what I already knew, this set is gonna kick @$$!!!



edit: Also, does anyone know when those custom Megatron guns are gonna be released? I must get the Henkei version, I simply MUST!!

Edit: Get the eff out! they put pegholes so you can attach G! UM's launchers to the shoulders.

hey guys maybe one of you can answer my question,

Took out my old G1 Ultra Magnus ( found at a fleas market) so that i could use the old rockets on the new Magnus armor. But i was looking at the rockets instead of the "short stubby" rockets like featured in the picture above, mine were two or three inch long rockets. Pretty sure my magnus is not a repaint but what gives about the longer red rocket?

those were from the reissue Magnus that came out at TrU, what like 5 years ago...
i have it too, and they look totally ridiculous. those US-safety-required reissue missiles were just horrible, the ones that came with the seekers were especially bad.

Hasbro can really learn a thing-or-two from such simple logic, I'm not kidding.....cause that's a good point.

I did just that with mine; cut them, drilled a hole in both piece and glued them at the normal lenght with a metal rod in it.

how did it come out skywave? Great to know somebody else did this, since sometimes i start something like this and run into a snag I hadn't anticipated. I little conversion like this shouldn't be any problem for me but then again i have regretted saying that more than a few times

Holy Crap! This thing looks better and better everytime something new about it pops up. This will be, without a doubt, one of the very finest pieces in my collection. I love UM, and this toy is 100% bad ass.

A little off subject, but does anyone else want to see these guys do a re-issue of their Cliffjumper set? Considering they have so much support with online retailers now, I'd love to see them come back and undercut all of the scondary market scalpers on eBay that are selling their conversion kit for $280 and up.

Longer are safer, of course, because shorter (smaller) are a choking hazard.

That would be pretty cool. I also hope they come up with a Prime trailer (didn't I read somewhere one was in the works?) and other projects. These guys put a lot of effort in their work, and it shows. Hopefully this trailer sells enough for them to fund more projects!

I think they will definitely have enough sells to keep on going. 2000 pieces are being made(don't quote me on that) and if this goes out with a bang like the cliffjumper set and these UM sets being around $70-80 a pop that about an estimate of $140'000-160,000..................damn!!!! But that's only if they sell out of them which I will bet over the course of a small to mid amount of time will happen. I can't wait for the classics Matrix and Megatron gun mode.

And even thou BBTS says towards the end of September is there a possibility of it going into October which would be sweet cuz I would be absolutely broke if this ships around the end of Sept and take my money. I get paid salary again on the 3rd. And I plan on getting a Magnus and Skywarp two pack off ebay doesn't matter the cost and it will save me some money without getting the Henkei Skywarp that is already $70 alone.

Instead of a Prime trailer, I'd much prefer a trailer set to turn Nemesis Prime into Motormaster

Its a cool figure and all but it would have been better if the BFG separated into 3 pieces;a medium sized gun and 2 shoulder-mounted rocket launchers.

The only thing I have found about the date is sometime in Sept. All of the online stores have a Sept ship date, but I would bet it will be in my hands in early-mid Oct. I really can't wait to get this guy. Worth every penny by the looks of it.

i love how clean he looks without any of the guns attached, just epic and mighty.

a little disappointed with the lack of a real 'nose' and the shape of his neck (kinda Pat Lee-esque) but those are minor nitpicks and everything else waaaaaay more than makes up for it.

Looks like that little square on his foot for the license plate sticker can be flipped, so you can put on the license plate sticker in trailer mode, then flip it up to hide it in robot mode. Nice! I'd love to check out Seibertron's pics to confirm, but their site seems to be down at the moment.

I really like this add-on, I really do. But I'm really not feeling the face. Why did they choose to make it that way?

The face was actually a lot more plain before, and the eyes were further back. Some fans spoke out if it was going to be final, and this is what they changed it too. I've seen it in person, and the face looks different. Same exact version in the above photo, but for some reason, it looks different when you have it in front of you, instead of looking at a photo of it. I actually thought they changed it a third time at first, but it wasn't.

Dunno. Maybe to make him look younger? That's the feeling I get from the head design.

the face is fine with me, but does anybody have any close-ups of the G1 UM head for comparison? Sucks that Seibertron is down

It's funny how different opinions can be.
I think the face looks perfect. It really matches the new "Universe Classics" like Prowl and Sunstreaker.

I'm glad i pre-ordered mine...I like the face...looks very younger robot, but with an almost human expression of "caring/protector"...

You'll have no choice but to buy several of this so you can have one of each with a different license plate, causing you to get more of the Classics Prime mold in the process. You cannot resist. I'll probably end up using the one that says City Commander.

what they should have done is made it so there was two sides too the license plate so you could at least have two. i mean i know they did alot for this but that could have made alot of peeps happier so they could at least have two choices instead of one but oh well maybe they will let reprolabels do up the license plates so you can swap um out with out having to worry about ruining your original set.
