A member on ACtoys.net has gotten a hold of a new deco of Classics Rodimus. Now although we don’t know if this is a KO or offical product, it could very well be part of a rumored set with Classics 2.0 Cyclonus and Galvatron.

First time I ever saw a so called "anime-accurate" repaint which gives me the ….MEH reaction. so I'll pass.
Anyway for all the Rodimus completist out there, it's a really a good time for them.

Umm, no. if you read, I said I WASN'T pissed. Try reading what was written before you just try to shoot insults, "Cal"

I love how everyone is screaming that they "know for sure" it's a knock-off, and then when it is released, they'll all backtrack and try to cover what they said.

There wouldn't be entirely new art, with the same colors and details as the toy in this thread for no reason. That's all the confirmation necessary.
GrimlockAutobot
I hope this is a store exclusive rather than a SDCC exclusive that way, it'll be more easily obtainable.
I think Rodimus looks awesome in the toon-accurate colors, painted windows and all. I sure hope it isn't a KO because that is so bought!!

Where has he been confirmed apart from some art? I'd like to see some pics beyond what we have.
ectoneon
I dig it. It does look "Cheaper" than the original version, but on the other hand it resembles his onscreen self pretty well.
Warbot Defender
Hmm. So he's official. I'll have to think about this one. It's nice that he's being reissued, but those are not the colors I was hoping for. I might have to do some painting on this one.

Thank you.

Best timing ever.

bad paint job bright as hell painted windows and chep looking plastic only one conclusion………………………KNOCK OFF

The plastic is not cheaper. Translucency is an issue with red plastic in general, even more apparent when it's a lighter tone. The panels not lining up well is an endemic problem with the mold from day one.
That's an issue of them trying to shoehorn a cartoon-accurate colour layout onto a toy that wasn't designed for it.
It's the same exact colour that Hasbro's been using for painted windows like, forever. See Universe Ironhide and Ratchet.
Also:
For the last time, he's official. All you guys in denial can start hyperventilating or eating your hats or blowing your brains out or whatever it is you promised to do.

another thing about this, agreed not sons of cybertron, but definitely cheaper plastic, molding issues present on car mode (panels not ligned up) also solid colors replacing mostly painted plastic, by the shin panels and a few other less important spots. The painted in plastic is that goofy cyan window paint i see on alot of the mini version g1 formers which lends credit to this being a knock off.
Warbot Defender
Hmm. Not sure what to think about this guy.
On the one hand, anime colors: WIN!
On the other hand, he's…"bright": Eh..failish?
If this is the rumored Rodimus, kinda cool, because we'll get him for an affordable price.
But, it kinda sucks because now he won't match the Protector's color scheme, or we'll end up with another TFCon-like fiasco for an anime coloring version.
I guess a coat of paint could fix this guy, but maybe it's a better idea to just buy a used Roddy of the 'Bay.
I wonder what Galvatron and Cyclonus will look like if this is what we think it is.
I doubt it's a KO (as many have thought), but I can't deny that it certainly looks like one. I don't think I've seen a figure quite so…bright before. He's just loud. lol
Cal
Wow, is that what people are charging for him these days? *checks* Holy sh-! And the Henkei version is worth even more! To think I paid just ten euros for him before Protector was announced. I bet you feel like a right plonker, D-Unit.
Cal
I can understand the incentive for Hasbro to release a show-accurate Rodimus, but was it really necessary to paint over the windows? As far as I remember Hot Rod had transparent windows in the cartoon.
Still, at least this bodes well for the rumoured Galvatron and Cyclonus repaints. Neither the Universe nor the Henkei versions had show-accurate colours. And if Hasbro can finally get it right this year, I'll gladly fork out whatever they charge for them, painted windows or not.
