The silver on the tires looks so much better than the universe versions black.
RayH
I keep vacilating on if i want the universe hound, or the henkei one. I do think the henkei ones better, I always like the more g1 accuracy...

But i don't like the yellow stripe, i think it's too bright, it should be the color on the og figure. I also think the classics ravage is better, because the legs are more silver.

I want to see some final product comparison shots.
Caine
Pass.
ckhtiger
wait, where's the chrome? and I need comparo pics with the universe one...
Acteon
I know I'm getting the Universe version from a friend for my birthday, but I like the darker colours, so I may buy this one for myself. But do I need two?

Argh, decisions!
MidnightBliss
Pass. Don't like the yellow stripe.
Skywave
Nice! The whole front bumper look like a darker chrome. I like the dark green too, though the universe one isn't bad either. But I'll keep my Henkei pre-order
Kimmer
soooo much better than the universe one. yeah the yellow stripe is kinda out of place but this shade of green is the right one. still don't get the whole ravagebeak design but whatever.
Josh
i just might have to go Henkei on this one too

i wasnt really that interested but those silver rims just look a million times better than the unpainted black on the hasbro version

mmm...tastay
Greyryder
The yellow looks really nice on him. (I can't believe I just said that.) The chromed brush gaurd works really well, too. It's the first time the Henki chrome hasn't looked completely random.
process
I'm officially postponing Christmas until this guy arrives at my front door.
Fort Max
That is slick, thank the Matrix they finally got their chrome cannon under control.
Tman978
Man! That is nice. I can't wait.
wheeljaxx
had this on pre-order sinse listed. universe version came in a few days ago, and he's awesome. Henkei version is just 10x better, and more acurate G1 green. Hope reprolabels modifies a set of labels for him
Railguard
I just got my Hound for Xmas and man does he look cool!!! Sorry, wont be spending the money on the Henkei Hound.
Autobot_Goldbug
I think this one looks so much better! I dislike the Universe's light green more than the bright yellow stripe on the Henkei one.
Simian
Like this waaaayyyyyy better than the universe Neon Green Hound.
catch22
MUCH nicer green than Universe Hound. The painted rims are also very nice. The decals will probably be covered by reprolabels soon enough, so that's a wash as far as I'm concerned. Overall the Henkei one is definitely better.
Zaraxion1021
I cant wait for my step dad to get him so i can have his Hasbro classic. But the paint job on Hound is......AWESOME!!
BigRC83
The Henkei version is much better (like it is almost all the time) but I already own the Universe version and I do not see myself purchasing the same figure with a few minor changes. Plus, I am sure reprolabels will release an upgrade set for Universe Hound.
mpchi
Like the silver rims, autobot logo, and grey thighs. Deeper green is more G1 too. But don't like the yellow stripes, the red knee, and the triple price compare to the Hasbro's. The light green on the Hasbro is actually pretty good too, and matches the bright colors of the rest of the Classics & Henkeis better.

I'll keep my Hasbro one.

The BBTS Henkei hound is $25 before shipping. Which means you paid over $25 for a Uni2.0 Hound that can be had for $10 at retail.

It's pretty silly to try and prove someone's "1/3rd the price" argument wrong when you dramatically over paid for your Hound figure.

I'm gonna go buy the U.S. MP Starscream for $300 and then let everyone know that it's more expensive than MP Greenscream....

No he paid over $25 Dollars for a Henkei Hound which can not be found at retail anywhere in the U.S. with out some kinda of markup. It's pretty silly to even make a price versus value arguement when you are talking to a global community. People always loose perspective of the fact that situations are different for every collector here especially when it comes to cost and availibility. You either like a toy or you don't but dont judge it or others by how much it will cost you and whether or not you can afford it
Feralstorm
It's half-and-half for me regarding what elements I like better on Henkei or Universe Hound.

... Which translates to - not bothering with Henkei.

You may as well summarize this, and put it into your forum Signature. You will be repeating this same sentiment in almost every thread. Save yourself some typing.

Yes, this Hound is pure WIN!
Kimmer
i was just looking at some pics of universe hound and after seeing these henkei hound pics,it just seems like an unfinished proto or something. not even close imo.
rizuan76
Everything else is ok..except for the yellow stripe. but other than that I'll still be getting it. The deeper shade of green looks even better than Hasbro's one.
Devastattor
Awesome! Mine!
microclone
easily one of my fave classic toys, i will get both hasbro and henkei.

Why does Takara's stuff almost always look better

Because TAKARA primarily caters to adult collectors, and HASBRO caters to children. Adults prefer a Henkei Hound with an identical G1 Hound paint job, and children prefer a bright green Universe Hound. Children like shiny bright things.

In that case wouldn't Hasbro add the bright yellow stripe and shiny chrome?

Yep. Hasbro once again goes the cheapy route on another "25th Anniversary" figure. How Aaron Archer and Greg Lombardi must be proud of their Hound.
Optimus Sledge
You do realise that Henkei figures cost more than Universe ones? Does it occur to you that maybe the "cheapie route" is something forced on them by all the people buying these figures for $7?

I'm not accepting ANY excuses for what we have been given for the 25th Anniversary figures AT ALL (let alone of all the other horrible, horrible, horrible, quality control issues plaguing the line since Animated started).

None of the "Oh, Poor Hasbro." None of the "You do realize that Tarkara versions cost 1 bILLIONzzz dollars more." Not the "You realize that Wal-mart apparently is on the board of directors of Hasbro and they must charge a meager 7 Bucks for all Deluxe toys." Nrrrrrr ...

None of it.

This is supposed to be the

*** 25th Anniversary Celebration of Transformers ****

and Hasbro has treated it as nothing more than a Word Buzz, slapping the logo on anything that blows out of China, including Vector Turd Repaint 3, Cybertron Scattershot Repaint 4, Unpainted Multi-Color Leg Plastic Knock-Off Cyclonus, Fall Apart Galvatron, Sticky Paint Prowl, Left Over Allspark Blue Jigsaw Sticky Paint Ironhide, Lackluster Hound, Faceless Painted Cheetor, and so on and so on.

And such a BIG 25th Anniversary it is. Just enough of a filler line to shove right out of the way for the 2009 Movie Line. Which, I am sure, will be full of wonderful, slop painted, defective uneven colored plastic, unpainted plastic piles of unimpressive robotic turds.

After 25 years of collecting Transformers, I am absolutely disgusted with how Hasbro has turned wonderful, quality robot toys that we have all come to love into a cheap-butt, slam out as much crap as possible, who cares what it looks like .... THEY WILL BUY IT ANYWAY, cash cow.

And now everyone can pile on me, defending Hasbro for giving us such *wonderful, quality, Transformers."

Yeah, right.
Optimus_Prowl
^ Not even gonna comment ^

Anyway, I like the deeper green, I like the silver rims, I even like the red kneecaps, but I just cannot bring myself to like this version of the figure. It's the dam yellow hood stripe. It looks so... out of place and stange. I like the simpler paint scheme of the universe one even if the green is brighter. I have the same opinion of ironhide. I love Ironhide's universe paint scheme and when I tried to bring myself to paint over the windows with black paint I couldn't do it. The light blue make Ironhide one of the brighter figs in my collection and I like that. Let prime and sidswipe be deep red, I like Ironhide bright and noticeable. Same with Hound.

I think the problem is you were expecting more for the 25th Anniversary, when it was always going to be just a Word Buzz like every other Anniversary in the past.

So, if you don't enjoy the hobby anymore, why subject yourself to such a torture?

Wait one goddamned second. You're criticising a cheaper toy for not having something that a more expensive toy does. Defend that point of view with logic. Now.

Everything is more expensive in Japan.
