Digital Toys have started to accept pre-orders for two previously unconfirmed Henkei releases from TakaraTomy. C-20 Red Alert and C-21 Smokescreen will be released by TakaraTomy in April 2009. Click on the image to the left to view images of concept images of both figures.

Ok I see your points and I at least think its "ok" if they pop a new head on the figure or at least upgrade his tools, the thing is all those figures from G1 ( the seekers) Particularly thrust and ramjet at least had differant wings and heads now a day it seems like new paint = new man! I wish I could become someone else just by changing the color of my shirt

i really want tracks so badly…
i dont have tracks toys in what so ever generation,
only binaltech..but still affraid to take it out the box and play with it

so bring it on the joy i kept to play with a tf named tracks!!!!!!
Rodimus Major
Red Alert preordered! I'm glad he's a repaint, like he should be.
Same with Smokescreen.
nerdimus prime
these both look great
dark69
i'm with you there!! i like repaints but i do like them better when they pop on a new head now and then
Backscatter
Just imagine if they had done that to G1.
No Thundercracker, Skywarp
No Red Alert, afer Sideswipe
No Bluestreak, Smokescreen after Prowl, etc etc.
Keep it up Has/Tak!

Lets think about this logically…
Sideswipe and Sunstreaker are sharing a mold and was intentionally designed so it looks different for each of them in robot mode. Red Alert was a repaint of Sideswipe back in G1 so obviously he's going to be a repaint of Sideswipe once again.
Seeker
Not bad!
JAYSCREAM
hey you forgot wheeljack and further on kup and blurr(rodimus, galvertron, cyclonus all done) DOGNAMIT!!!! i wants a scourge and the rest of the targetmasters and………………………………….. well you get the point
UltraMagnus2008
Seriously how many f****** repaints of the same mold are they going to do? I didn't mind some of them but this is ridiculous!
Runamuck
Well, since they're two totally different colors to me….yes.
Bass X0
Orange… yellow… does it really matter?
Runamuck
But Grapple is orange…?

I've wondered about this as well, how a Grapple repaint would work. Because you are absolutely right, Inferno is definitively a fire truck. All those side panels have nozzles and hoses that make them look like a water tank. Just swapping out the cannon for a crane wouldn't do it.
However, looking at the mold, I think it could be done by only remolding the six pieces that make up the side paneling (plus of course the crane). The middle brownish piece could be molded as a small side-ladder, and the back panels could just have the pipes removed and be made more "construction-y." It would be an extensive remold, but not unprecedented… we've seen remolds of that scale before with relatively recent figures like Cybertron Crumplezone and Classics Ramjet. It would be a smallish crane-truck, not a large and heavy construction-grade vehicle…. but maybe believable as a neighborhood service vehicle or something.
I just find it hard to believe that repaint-lovin' Hasbro didn't design this mold with its most obvious repaint/remold in mind. I just hope that if they do it it IS an extensive remold…. the truck, as is, would look ridiculous with just a crane slapped on top.

If people want a Grapple, then they should repaint Inferno into Micromaster Roadburner or Wheelblaze (who are yellow fire engines) and then people can pretend its Grapple.

Redalert looks really cool. Wonder if i should try to get him.

It seems the exchange rate between the dollar and the yen has been steadily increasing in favor of the yen due to the current economy crisis. Basically that means that even if the price in Yen is still fixed at 2000, several months ago 2000 was close to $20, but nowadays it's close to $22. U.S. based stores are paying more for the product, and thus have to raise prices.
Where was it said that Takara-TOMY would continue with Henkei during ROTF? I'm guessing they'll put Henkei on hold just like Hasbro's doing with Universe.

Trek
Not according to the recent Hasbro interview in Toyfair #138. Inferno was designed as an Airport Fire engine and would have had a water squirting gimmick, but that was changed in favour of the missile to save costs.
Bass X0
I seriously think Grapple would look like a yellow fire engine with a crane attached instead of a ladder. And if they could have added a ladder to Inferno, I am sure they would have done – another reason why I don't think they will remold Inferno into Grapple this time.
Thundershot
From the first two years, we're still missing
JAZZ (please new mold!)
TRAILBREAKER
TRACKS
SKIDS (Ironhide repaint is fine)
HOIST (make Trailbreaker with Hoist in mind)
GRAPPLE (hopefully Inferno is made with Grapple in mind)
Then they can do
RICOCHET (out of Jazz)
AUTOFIRE (out of Inferno)
CLAMPDOWN (out of Red Alert)
DEEPCOVER (out of Sideswipe)
ROAD RAGE (out of Tracks)
CROSSCUT (out of Ironhide)
SUNSTORM (out of Starscream)
