Yeh, I think you got this first. That being said, Ratchet looks good, but unless he gets released in Universe, I'm just sticking with Uni. Ironhide (can't afford to import stuff).

Interesting, though if that's truly the Henkei scheme, it kinda deviates from the G1 cartoon look. The lightbar looks a lot like Prowl's too (Universe Prowl, not Henkei Prowl)

If I were to guess based on nothing else, I'd think that these photos might represent Universe Ratchet instead of Henkei Ratchet, based on:
* There's extra red deco which makes it technically less cartoon-like.
* The white plastic is not a bright pure white
* No apparent chrome.

The cartoon color scheme was pretty boring really - I'm glad they decide to go with something interesting than something accurate. Its not as if the mold is completely accurate to how he looks in the cartoon anyway.

I dunno, I think it looks kinda ridiculous. The whites are mismatched, and the red bumper looks stupid. Bot mode is passable though.

I suppose it is pretty much Ratchet, but in all honesty it doesn't look great.

personally i would have said it was universe ratchet. not a bit of chrome in sight which seems odd. its ok i am not keen on the use of the red in vehicle mode it looks odd. but saying that ill still buy it he is one of my favs

okay, yeah - the red bumper is out of place and unneccessary.

but the red on the front, top and the sides of the vehicle mode, i'm okay with that. its new, yeah but its pretty much the same junk you'd find on a real vehicle.

I'm all over this. It's a very nice representation of Ratchet, imo. Overall, a very nice figure indeed.

Interesting - no sign of a gun either. Perhaps it will be dropped ala Sideswipe's engine?

Would be cool if it's been resculpted into some sort of medical tool. Probably too much to hope for though.

I don't know about the colors, I'm a little iffy right now. Maybe if the crotch/upper thighs matched I'd dig it more. That's my main gripe with Hasbro's Ironhide, that separation just looks weird...like he's wearing a damn thong.

i think this may be Universe Ratchet-look at the whites. part is just paint, the rest is just white plastic. i thought Henkei never did that

Are we sure this is the Henkei version? We've seen preorders before that used pics of the Hasbro version...

Looks like it's just a digibash, that would explain why it doesn't have chrome anywhere...

The weapon missing also makes it a little of a tossup since that's kind of the big chromed part on their Ironhide

I think if this is the Henkei version and it is out before the Universe one I think I'll have to pick it up. I always loved the look of G1 Ironhide and Ratchet and I am very excited for these two.

Looks very nice, although it seems that they recycled Classics Prowl's light bar for this. Can anybody read what his License Plate says? It seems odd that Henkei's stopped doing chrome.

The more I look at it, the more I tend to think that perhaps this is the Universe version of Ratchet.

I would tend to agree that this is the universe version .. no chrome at all that I can see ... I think it looks pretty good - I'll definitely be getting it.

Vehicle looks a little odd to me, but the robot mode is fantastic. Pre-order placed @ TFSource.com just a few minutes ago!

The only chrome on Henkai Ironhide is on his gun. For all we know it's the same for Ratchet.

Sideswipe has his Engine. It doubles as his jetpack. Unless it's only missing on the Henkai version.

I preordered this guy from BBTS a while back because I feel that when/if it is released in Universe it wouldn't be until after the next movie line, which would be almost around summer 2010. Another reason for the preorder was it also crept in my mind that TFCC may try to get his figure into a Botcon set but due to the price being a lot lower than the Takara exclusive seekers I doubt that would be the case.

Isn't white head with red crest cartoon style and red head with white crest comic style? And haven't other Henkeis been rather heavily cartoon based?

Oddley enough I really like this mold in Ratchet's color scheme. Even for a Henkei it doesn't look all that bad, though I'll still be waiting for Hasbro's version. I like the reuse of Prowl's light bar. I also really like the remolded head, and I personally like the white head/red crest combo, but it wouldn't bother me if Hasbro's had the red head/white crest combo. I'm curious to see if the weapon will get any physical changes. Would be great for it to be made into some medical tools, but it's not a deal breaker if Ratchet get's the same weapon. Not sure if I would get it, but it'd be cool to see this mold given two new heads and repainted into Movie Ironhide's and Ratchet's colors (Botcon exclusives?).

This is Hasbro's version as it doesn't have any chrome.

The weapon will be chromed just as it is on Ironhide. It's an homage to the missile launcher on the G1 toys' weapons deck/repair platform.

The gun won't be left out, it's just not pictured.

I'm also thinking this is Universe Ratchet, given that there's no visible chrome and it isn't G1 cartoon/toy accurate in its deco.

After all, Ironhide does have chromed headlights if one recalls.

why would they fix the windows on Henkei Ironhide but not on Ratchet? im tellin ya, its his Universe counterpart.

this, in a way, only further proves that its Universe. its not show accurate, something Takara has been doing well on.

But if you look at the G1 Diaclone toy/cartoon model, he doesn't have black forearms.

Not to mention the windows aren't the same style of paint that Takara used on Ironhide.

I'm sorry - to me, looking at the color distribution compared to that on Ironhide, it seems more plausible that this is Hasbro's Ratchet. Not that it's bad or anything.

I think this could be Universe Ratchet for two reasons:

-No signs of chrome (as others have said)
-Allspark-blue windows

It's definitely the Henkei one. No chrome in these pictures, but as it's been pointed out, the gun/sword thing will most likely be chromed out. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the license plate on him isn't in English. The Hasbro version probably won't be too different from this one. I just hope that they have most of the same paint apps, or at least something similar.

Though it could be Hasbro's version, which would explain the light bar being the same as Prowl's. Last I knew the Henkei Ratchet and a similar styled light bar to that of their Prowl. Would be great if this is the Hasbro version, as this looks good to me, and that's something very few, if any, of the Henkei versions has done, imo.

Looking at it some more it's missing the medical +'s on the shoulders. I would like to see those, guess I will have to put some stickers on it.

The reason I think it's Henkei is we haven't seen any release dates for Ratchet in Universe. If this is Hasbro's version, it leads me to believe it will probably be released this spring, as soon as in wave three with Hot Shot. So either way it's good news for Ratchet fans.
