FansProject Powered Commander To Be Reissued With Chrome

Got word this very morning that there is to be a japanese release of the FansProject Powered Commander Armour set with added chrome detailing so it fits in with the henkei.

Its not an exclusive but a wide release like the City Commander and will be a lot less than the secondary market prices being paid for the Convention exclusive, there are no pics at the moment only a design diagram I cant get to load.........GRRRRRRR, if a mod can help I'll email the info to them.

This May, as in within the next three weeks? And no one has heard of it yet, and no pre-orders available anywhere? This sounds wrong.

I've got no reason to disbelieve them however I've emailed Day at FansProject for confirmation, I would upload the offer sheet but cant seem to cut and paste the sodding thing, if anyone can take the email from me and upload that would be great.

wait a second...so FP are doing a HENKEI version of Powered Convoy with CHROME and it will also be more WIDE SPREAD RELEASED like the City Commander set AND will included the stupid Briefcase and launchers WITH added Chrome to the figure AND it will be much less in price as the Powered Convoy piece?

Hmmm, kinda pissed I traded my Ultra Magnus with City Commander armor for the TF-Con one.

Nice... and I almost picked up one off eBay for $400... almost. Guess I'll wait to get this guy in... I'm sure BBTS will be putting up preorders soon.

On a side note... I bet that the guys on eBay whom apparently bought up tons of Powered Commanders are going to get their panties in a bunch about this one (no joke... I saw a guy who had a listing at $500 a pop and under the quantity available it said 10+... yeah, someone's going to be ticked).

I paid about £40-60 (can't remember exactly how much) for City Coimmander before the nasty ole recession came along.

Deep down, I'm sure that we all saw this coming. I lost a little respect for fansproject.

I heard rumors they were planning to do this. Guess it's coming true.

Allow me to be the voice of reason for a moment...

Everything in any collecting hobby is worthless until someone comes along to purchase it. At that point it's worth precisely what the buyer is willing to pay. That being said, none of us can be angry when we buy something at the spur of the moment thinking it'll be worth beaucoup bucks, then find out it isn't quite so limited as we thought.

The same rationale holds true every day when someone buys a prerelease toy for 400% markup, and the toy comes out weeks later. I don't see[the majority of] those folks getting mad.

So people paid $150+ for an inferior deco and 2 TFcon stickers. Awesome!

What would people say if Hasbro was to release all Botcon toys released to date?

The TFCON will still be limited. This is slight different enough to separate the two. Even thou it is a sticker and some chrome.

The point of PC being an exclusive was to make the TFcon trailer THE trailer for Prime, not just ONE version of it.

I still have tremendous respect for FP. They are giving fans what they have asked for which is a powered convoy armor set. If people payed 400 dollars for a convention exclusive that sold for a much cheaper price originally then that was the buyers choice. The items are not identical and so no one got "screwed".

I for one am relieved that they are making a wide release powered convoy set, I wasn't about to pay 400 bucks for the Canadian exclusive one. They are putting chrome on this one to top it off which makes it even more desirable imo.

With slightly different decos? I'd say, "Good. Now I can leave the others in the box, and have the new ones out for display!"
Now, if I'd paid scalper-rific prices, I'd be kicking myself, but that's my fault for paying hundreds of dollars for repaints/ remolds of $10 toys.

Oh, and I'd finally be able to get a Botcon 2006 Megatron. Yea!

They have, all botcon figures were released at mass retail at one point or another with different colors and or minor remolds. The Botcon seekers are for the most part just variations of classics Starscream and Ramjet.


The Japanese version of the Canadian armor is a repaint and maybe even remold of accessories for mass release.

It's the prinicple about things. They stated at TFCon to more then one person that the mold was broken after the casting of the TFCon Powered Commander. Man this just burns me badly after getting hyped about other projects and now this slap in the face.

Who's to say they didn't cast many thousands of THIS one, prior to casting the TFcon one, prior to breaking the mold

the mould broken? im sorry are some people here just being idiots? Hasbro may feed this bullshit to alot of people but ANY caster here will tell you its EASY to make a new mould! all you need is 1 of the finalised toys (IE City Commander) and then you just RE-CAST it...

i cant belive some people think if a mould is destroyed that = no more of that figure.

if hasbro pulled there finger out and got a G1 complete c9 wheeljack AFA ect off ebay then we could ALL have a reissue of the toy because they could simply recast it.

If they wana do a Henkei version for Henkei Convoy then i say good luck to them because this will probably be the last time we see this mould EVER ....well unless they do those weird ass grey/green colors Magnus had in the G1 cartoon 'the killing jar' but i cant see that happening any time soon

I already use my PC with the head piece off and Henkei Prime as Powermaster Optimus Prime and it looks fantastic with the original PMOP rifles. Looks SO nice with TRU Darkwind and Botcon Dreadwind!

Before everyone starts Damning FansProject "OMG they are releasing the Convention exclusive Powered Commander". Lets see if this is confirmed or not by them. Also maybe this is going to be another exclusive release for another convention as well. Remember to if this version is mass released it will be changed to match the Henkei Convoy with chrome and maybe new stripes, and who knows he may not come with the exact same accessories as the TFCON version as well. Anyway just be happy that FansProject are making these great kits for all of us.

Lets just hope this is true... I was looking at the online prices and figure I shouldn't be buying it... 400+ for the kit seems a little ridunculous.... But a mass release for 100 bucks I can do... Are people seriously complaining that they are going to release this for the rest of us who couldn't afford to buy it at 400+ ... I can understand being a little tick off, but after all the botcon thundercracker, dirge and thrust fiasco, I would think people will get over this...

My sentiments exactly. I'll await confirmation of this from FP, but it is a pretty big douce move to moake an exclusive, say the molds are destroyed, and go an release this anyways. Definitely makes me think twice about supporting these types of business practices.

How do you think those of us who bought the Botcon seekers felt when Takara released them?

I'm sure FP will do something to differentiate this release. I mean - it sucks, because they said this color scheme was exclusive... But ultimately their motive seems to be "get this to as many people as possible", and this release certainly fits that...

I say that's there motive because there have been several cases lately where we've been told they've included things which may ultimately cost them money (like the "stealth mode" for the G3 trailer). They may just want to milk this to finance that wave of totally-new figures coming up...

They changed the decos for SW and TC and changed the molding and the decos for the coneheads. Plus, they didn't release them merely weeks after the Botcon exclusives... Took close to 2 years to get the missing seekers.

I can point you to a couple of places selling Transmetal Primal, Cybertron Defense Red Alert and Cybertron Vector Prime. They are all repaints or slight remolds of exclusive figures and all available for a different price than their Botcon exclusive versions.

No, I want the exact figures I mentionned. So, where can I get them at retail? I'm still waiting. Btw, you got that wrong; Botcon are the slight remolds of the regular figures, not the other way around.
